Most of the people who want standalone to be released right away don't care whether it's good or not, they just want to be able to play it. I'd rather have quick crap and be able to help turn that crap into gold, than have silver that took forever to make and only be able to help a little bit in making it into gold. -

they didn't write an engine from scratch. they rewrote the architecture for the multiplayer and re-did a lot of stuff on the map, but still used the original map. -

Yeah, anyone who wants to buy the alpha standalone when it gets an official release can buy it. No 50,000 key limit. -
Well, maybe they need to switch up the acceleration on all things, not just zombies.

Well, they can't do half of what the players can do, so I'm not really sure of your point here. Are you saying that this would take away their ability to be threatening?

I would just like to restate that it is not the animations I am worried about or even talking about. It's the swiftness of the zombie's speed-up, not the animation. I can't say for sure whether the animations are bad or not, but I'm positive that their acceleration is absurd.

It probably won't just be shoot on sight, or at least not in the alpha because the people who buy the alpha will mostly be people who are really dedicated to the game. And if it is shoot on sight, so what? They won't have a ridiculous amount of sniper rifles and assault rifles anymore, so it's not like anyone will be at too huge of a disadvantage unless a bandit gets really lucky and happens to find one of these rare weapons. And honestly if you hate the whole shoot on sight stuff, this really isn't a game for you. You can either stop playing, whine about having to go solo, or get some friends to buy the game and play with them. Even just one other person can help out with this player to player encounters that usually end in gunshots. Also, whenever I've played the mod, I've usually been able to encounter people who, if you just type into direct chat that you are friendly as you are hiding behind a wall, they will stop shooting at you or just not shoot at you at all. -
Perhaps long rattling moans after eating someone? I like the low frequency idea and the getting hit ideas too. I don't really get the whole scratchy voice idea, considering they won't really be talking. Overall pretty good suggestion though.

He said at the Rezzed conference that they will be changing the sounds but that won't happen until a bit into the alpha because it's not a main priority.

That would work, but it requires more computing power. That's the only problem with it though.
