I beg to differ. They respawn 2 seconds after you kill them 20 yards away from you. If you are indoors you can't melee them because you always hit the ceiling like an uncoordinated mong. Forcing you to either avoid indoors or shoot, and when you kill one it spawns, kill the next, the first one will respawn and agro straight away. A delay on the spawning would be great.

I have noticed a larger number of servers that were once 24/7 day that would go no later than 1PM, now going up to and past 6PM. I think it was just the latest update messing with something and the people just haven't updated it to be daylight 24/7 again.

This is a suggestions list concerning rain and such. I know it has literally only just been introduced to stable branch and will be worked on in the coming months, but this is just a list of things I'd like to see/see changed. So lets get started. Different moisture levels to types of rain By this I mean how fast you get wet from being perfectly dry in different types of rain. For now as soon as you step foot in the naughty old rain you get the damp notification. I suggest holding off the notification of dampness for about 30 seconds in light rain and 5-10ish in heavy rain. More waterproof clothing/accessories As far as I'm aware there are only raincoats that give immunity to getting wet (in that one piece of clothing). In the future I'd like to see the implementation of waterproof pants/cargo pant verities of numerous colours. (Yellow, green, orange etc.) Now for accessories, I'd like to see a waterproof net being added that can be draped over your bag at the cost of 2-4 slots (In the bag itself) allowing your backpack to keep its items dry, and maybe a hooded waterproof mac that takes the place of tactical vests and chest holsters (and maybe hats) to keep you dry. Getting dry I know you can get dry by running around in the sun after the rain stops and sitting by a camp fire (Though I've never been able to make one or see one be made.) But I was just on a server where it rained for 40 minutes none stop and I was either confined in the building I happened to be in when it started(for 10 minutes), or (and this is what I did shortly after) run around getting absolutely soaked from head to toe in the hopes it stops and you can dry off. I ran around with the purpose of finding a little propane tank and a cooking hob. I combined the 2 and turned it on, sat by it for a good 5 minutes and my dampness didn't diminish in the slightest. I suggest with this that the cans are made to dry you off but at 50% the rate of a camp fire.

So. 30 minutes ago I ran into Gorka from the Black Forest way. As I got to the border of the town I saw a guy just... Walking down the street. Not bothering about houses or the loot. But just walking the street as if he was the neighborhood watch. I put my Fireaxe away, ran to about 30 meters behind him, said "Hey!" on the mic and threw up a wave. He turned and waved back. Dude was in green clothing with a vest, He had a fire axe on his back, a shotty on his back and a Mosin in his hands, just strolling down the road taking in the scenery. I ran around frantically searching every house for a Mosin of my own to no avail. I ran into the guy about 5 times all throughout Gorka, just walking minding his own business. He even stopped at the well near the church thing and sipped on water whilst a zombie was running down the road to him. I take the zombie out and put my axe back on my back. Give him a wave and a lean-dance and sipped on the well with him before sprinting off to Dubrovka whist looking back. He just slowly vanished into the horizon, walking. Patrolling. Keeping the waste land safe.

I've gorged myself on food and drink before, Getting to the point where I was stuffed and close to vomiting. No healing text nor no healthy text. Or anything of the kind. Just constant reminders that I ate a 12 course meal and drank an entire lake.

DayZ the mod runs off of ARMA 2 which is terribly optimized, the Standalone currently has not had ANY optimization done to it.

When you know you play too much Dayz :p

So. My friend and I were killed in an honour-less killing. We were both logging in at the NE airfield and someone shot us whilst we loaded. FUN! Oh well. This is DayZ after all. I spawned in Elektro and began to loot up so we could meet once more. It was going well and I had reasonable gear within 3 minutes of spawning. And then I saw a She-Hulk. I was in the hotel opposite the South West fire-station and she punched me into the wall. INTO it. I killed her and struggled to get out for 2 minutes. I couldn't. I tried to relog and see if it helped. No. Thankfully I was bleeding with no bandages. I've made a bug claim, but so far none of my 4 other bugs seem to have been looked at, it is Christmas after all.

I too am moaning and groaning, without any indication of illness. Not hungry or thirsty or bleeding, I bandaged myself with sterile bandages and such.

Last night in the pitch black I was running around with my Axe out, trying to loot house as best I can without need of a torch. As I ran to a barn someone started transmitting white noise, and 30 seconds later began breathing heavily. I sat around for 15 minutes looking for him only to come to the conclusion that it's the bug whereby if someone dies they can transmit to the whole map. So that technically wasn't interaction. The next day at 10AM I was trolling through the little village 45 minutes east of the shipwreck when I heard "Hello?" Feeling tense I ran to the staircase with my axe trained on the door. "Yeah, hey" I replied. "Oh I thought I heard someone drinking, you friendly?". Not sure if this was a trap or not I hesitantly replied. "Yeah man, you?" He told me he was and that all he had was a fire axe (I was jealous of his superior weaponry) and it turns out he was. We ran around for 30 minutes looting building after building. Chopping down zombies in our way, with varying success. His first encounter wasn't as lucky as mine. He was picking up a water bottle and someone came from behind and cracked him in the head with an axe. Not a good way to go. We parted ways in a warehouse 15 minutes east of the shipwreck due to him having to leave. Dispensed the niceties or "Nice playing with you man, see you 'round." and I was on my way, wandering lonely once more.

Got my first confirmed kill today. I was in Balota, in the flight control tower, and someone shot at me. Terrible aim. Not one of about 12 shots hit me. Even sillier, he was sat in the same spot 5 minutes later whilst I had flanked round the back, out the fence and then through some trees. Took his ammo and bits and then hid his body. That'll learn ya.

Is it just me, or can you not find a ripe Kiwi? What if they're the standalone version of Mountain Dew? Or Antibiotics? NOES!

My second interaction was shorted, but somewhat similar. After Dean killed me and 200,000+ other people. (Dick move guy!!) I was killed at the North East airfield. Anyway. I spawned at Balota, got myself a fire axe, M4 and pistol in the same building. No mags though. Kitted up to the teeth. I'm talking camo coat, camo cargo pants, UK assault vest, Gas mask and combat helmet, green mountain backpack. and I had found a 30 round mag. Walking on my merry way to one of the hangars when I hear "You friendly?" from a guy with an magazine-less M4. "Yeah mate." We ran past each other and that was that. There was however 2 dead bodies in Balota, presumably from earlier in the day.

So I read on Reddit that Rocket would like some suggestions from the community regarding unconsciousness and giving the player a hint at how long they'll be out. And I have one. It's not the best in the world, but it's not using a massive egg timer. My suggestion is this: Upon being knocked out, your screen goes heavily blurry as if your eyes are still open. Over time you regain your vision to the point where all is normal again and you wake up with an "Ughhh" groan.
-
I had a Mosin on my back, I told him I had no ammo for it, but I think it was still unsettling for him.

So. I've only played for 30 minutes like some others. Damn near pitch black and somewhat tense, but not as tense as my first time on the mod. I've noticed that there is input lag from pressing a hotkey (to pull torch out) of about 2-3 seconds. Alphas gonna Alph. Low FPS is to be expected with the alpha and there being no client optimization. However, something I didn't expect was I have jelly mouse. Whereby I turn my mouse, and it takes a while to do the action and complete it. Not a second or two, but it's enough to be noticeable and annoying. I've turned my mouse DPI to max, lowest and everything inbetween, changed the ingame sensitivity and added mouse smoothing. No change. Mouse acceleration is on by default and I can't change it. It made my first zombie encounter all the more difficult. I was fist fighting 2 zombies with 12 FPS and a Jelly mouse. I put up a good fight and eventually bested them. But not before they socked me in the mouth a good few times. This isn't me moaning. Quite the opposite. I know full well what I spent £20 to get into, and I LOVE IT. This is more me getting it out there and seeing if anyone else has the jelly mouse, and if they have fixed it or at least dampened it?

Yeah. This helped immensely. So much so I stayed on for another 30 minutes before bed. Looted myself some cuffs a Mosin (No ammo) and an axe. Sidenote, Screwdrivers don't seem to work as melee weapons. I swing, and it misses. Every time.

It's been out for 5 hours and already the negative FOLK are crawling out of the woodwork.

Cool. I'll give it a go tomorrow when I get more time. Thanks for the potential fix!!
