    Crossbow shooting video

Kills a zombie in 1 hit to everywhere except his shadow. Not tested on humans.
  2. Firearms it doesn't happen on, however It happens all the type with Machete's, Bayonets and Sickles. If I am sprinting with it, it happens once every 30 or so seconds so I have to put the weapon back on my back or in my bag. Not really game breaking, but certainly annoying if you are sprinting to lead zombies to an open area then BAM! No melee for you!
  3. Shame there's currently a bug where if you have a 1 handed weapon in your hand while sprinting, you randomly drop the weapon and it either despawns or hangs in the air floating.
  4. Yes. That's entirely my point. They die after A FEW headshots with a big fuckoff sharp axe. This is bullshit unless it's a zombie with a combat helmet. They should die in 1 headshot with an axe. @Dr.Burd. Scientifically speaking people have had brain anurisms from forcing a shit out too hard.
  5. There are many things that give zombie like symptoms to humans and other animals. In Humans, PCP, Rabies and shit like this http://io9.com/5547673/5-real-diseases-that-could-make-you-act-just-like-a-zombie. In animals there's also a few, most notably is a fungus that controls an ant, forcing it to climb a tree where the fungus then explodes out of the ants head and hopes to infect more ants below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_1FjXb8T1Y. As for realism - Is that not what Dean is striving to achieve in this game? I thought he was. What with the broken limbs, illnesses, heart attacks, unconsciousness, gun handling/bullet drop, items actually in the game. Or is that all just my imagination? And no, I wouldn't want them to blow over in the wind. I WANT THEM TO DIE WHEN YOU HIT THEM IN THE HEAD WITH AN AXE.
  6. Re-read this please. 1-3 hits to the head? To. The. Head. Fuckers should go down in 1 shot to the head with everything except your fists and maybe a Bassball bat. Anything that is shart, or heavy and blunt should surely bludgeon or cut through the brain in 1 good swing. But instead what happens is you twat them in the head with an axe and they fall over for 2 seconds, get up, brush themselves off and then come right back at you. This is in no way realistic, nor is it fun. Especially if I am in the set of 3 apartment complexes above Cherno, getting 12 FPS and 10,000 desync with zombies agroing from 100 meters away.
  7. That to me is the problem. Axes - sharp pointy things used to chop trees down - KNOCK OUT Zombies when you hit their head. This has happened to me with all 3 variations of axes, Pick,Splitting and Fire. Quite frankly if someone simply gets knocked unconscious from being twatted in the head with an axe, I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
  8. I'm constantly surprised by people who want things at this very second rather than wait until the engine is good and ready to handle such things. As if performance isn't bad enough at the moment you want to throw cars, planes, helis, boats and bikes into the mix just to fuck over everybodies FPS and desync some more? No thanks.

    Having two guns

Yes in first person. I play only in first person. The ray cast thing on the weapon is inaccurate when you are in the middle of a city pulling 12 FPS, surrounded by 4 zombies, and trying to circle strafe all 4 of them. Machetes kill in 4 headshots, they're far more accurate and easier to use.

    Having two guns

Whilst that's good in theory, I've hit zombies directly in the heads with all 3 axes (Pick,Splitting/Fire) and they've gone unconscious instead of dying. It's also harder to get a follow-up headshot because as you mentioned, the squiff hitboxes/hitdetect. 1 handed weapons are the way to go right now as they are easy headshots with easy followups. However there's currently a bug whereby if you are sprinting with a one handed weapon out in attack stance then you sometimes just drop the weapon and it will be floating in mid air. You even get the 'Cancel action' text in the screen for a short period of time.

    FPS Problem

I too have the same problem of not playing for a while then coming back to find a BIG hit in the fps department, but it's probably just an update they did to graphic rendering/other. Chances are LOTS of people are having problems when they really shouldn't. But that's because there's no optimizations to the game yet, so realistically the games performance is bound to get a little worse before it gets better. Alpha's gonna alph.
  12. TL:DR. However I'm pretty sure Rocket has said something about re-jigging the inventory system and adding a fatigue thing at some time or another.

    Melee Damages?

Indeed, but having 4 of them on you when all you have is what seems to be a wet paper towel as a weapon is not a very good situation to be in, especially when the last time you held that wet paper towel used to be a massive stick that would keep everything at bay. Having the wet paper towel is fine, I just didn't know I had it, is all. EDIT: Yeah. Just been on, seems that 2 handed weapons are like trying to bring a wall down using a wet noodle whilst 1 handed weapons are the way to go.

    The most intense thing ever.

This is the tale of how I became John Rambo in the most intense 25 minutes of my life. I had just finished a Gorka run and was going to go due east to Berezino when I came across the house in the picture below: I saw what I thought was 1 player with a trail of a hand full of zombies so I proceeded carefully hiding behind the cover of bushes. When I got 50meters closer I realized that It was 4 players running together, I wasn't sure if they had fire arms, but they were running in my direction. So I saw no other choice than to kill them all. All I had on me was a Mosin Nagant with 2 rounds chambered and a fire fighters axe. I let 2 of them pass me then shot at the other 2. I hit both of them and they went down in 1 bullet whilst the other 2 ran for cover. After this I started taking Screenshots. I waited for about 5 minutes just looking around to see if they would loot their friends bodies. But they didn't. I knew they were still around though so I Ran back up the hill into the tree line for cover and decided to flank around the back to try and spot someone. I did. He was keeping a lookout and all I had was my axe. Thankfully he decided to eat a tin of beans whole and I sprinted to him and hit him with my axe 3 times. He was dead. From fear of him alerting his last remaining friend I quickly stole his M4 and proceeded back to my hill in an evergreen in the hopes that his friend would make a mistake and come to check the body. A further 5 minutes past and I decided to yet again flank, this time down the hill to the left (Of where you see my position in the last screenshot). I ran for 200 yards and then crossed the roads in cover of bushes, peaking left and right for any onlookers. Slowly progressing down the road from bush to bush, training my aim on the trees, when finally my final victim showed signs of his whereabouts. Whilst I was peaking around a bush I saw him walk onto the road looking at his friend whom had the M4, then move back again. This was enough for me to move up slowly and wait in a bush for him to try and flank to my last known position for cover. As he ran with his sholder to the bushes I saw him draw ever closer. I waited until he could see me, he drew his SKS and then I shot him with 10 M4 bullets from his amigos stolen weapon. Free to loot myself a hunting pack full off ammo and med supplies and 3 M4 double mags from my axe victim.Unfortunately so much time had past that I couldn't screenshot the first 2 kills and I hadn't thought of screenshotting them. And this is the story of how I became John Rambo and decimated 4 players with minimal gear.

    The most intense thing ever.

I was in a bush next to the road, the 4 of them were running down said road, I didn't want to risk shouting friendly or leaving them to walk on in case they (for some reason) doubled back which sometimes happened. I felt my safest course of action was to kill them, or scare them off by killing a few of them.

    sooo

He wanted to rag your Tshirt for bandages.

    Day Z map size?

I personally use the whole map, whilst admittedly favoring to the borders of the map (ie NEAF NWAF and Elektro/balota/berezino) However I've visited each named settlement on the http://dayzdb.com/ map at least twice.
  18. The zombies are a work in progress as it is an alpha and they aren't high priority with bug fixes at the moment. As for zombies agroing with blood, Zombies aren't known for their sense of smell. They hear something and shuffle/sprint to it. They see something they shuffle/sprint after it. They don't stop their shuffle and sniff around for a potential meat sack to eat and turn. They aren't vampires.

So, my friend was dying of dehydration

Since he logged out unconscious he will respawn as a fresh spawn.

    Less obnoxious low blood effect

If you are having trouble finding food try moving to a lower populated server for the time being (Whilst loot doesn't respawn).
  21. He's just posted that the servers are back online.

    Couple of questions

Zooming without a scope or with anything below a long range scope always makes players beyond 500 meters/yards (What ever the zeroing is in distance) doesn't render players, but does render their guns. With a long range scope it seems like I can see at least 900 measurements of distance.

    OP Zombies

I beg to differ. They respawn 2 seconds after you kill them 20 yards away from you. If you are indoors you can't melee them because you always hit the ceiling like an uncoordinated mong. Forcing you to either avoid indoors or shoot, and when you kill one it spawns, kill the next, the first one will respawn and agro straight away. A delay on the spawning would be great.

    Is anyone else getting this?

I have noticed a larger number of servers that were once 24/7 day that would go no later than 1PM, now going up to and past 6PM. I think it was just the latest update messing with something and the people just haven't updated it to be daylight 24/7 again.

    Concerning rain.

This is a suggestions list concerning rain and such. I know it has literally only just been introduced to stable branch and will be worked on in the coming months, but this is just a list of things I'd like to see/see changed. So lets get started. Different moisture levels to types of rain By this I mean how fast you get wet from being perfectly dry in different types of rain. For now as soon as you step foot in the naughty old rain you get the damp notification. I suggest holding off the notification of dampness for about 30 seconds in light rain and 5-10ish in heavy rain. More waterproof clothing/accessories As far as I'm aware there are only raincoats that give immunity to getting wet (in that one piece of clothing). In the future I'd like to see the implementation of waterproof pants/cargo pant verities of numerous colours. (Yellow, green, orange etc.) Now for accessories, I'd like to see a waterproof net being added that can be draped over your bag at the cost of 2-4 slots (In the bag itself) allowing your backpack to keep its items dry, and maybe a hooded waterproof mac that takes the place of tactical vests and chest holsters (and maybe hats) to keep you dry. Getting dry I know you can get dry by running around in the sun after the rain stops and sitting by a camp fire (Though I've never been able to make one or see one be made.) But I was just on a server where it rained for 40 minutes none stop and I was either confined in the building I happened to be in when it started(for 10 minutes), or (and this is what I did shortly after) run around getting absolutely soaked from head to toe in the hopes it stops and you can dry off. I ran around with the purpose of finding a little propane tank and a cooking hob. I combined the 2 and turned it on, sat by it for a good 5 minutes and my dampness didn't diminish in the slightest. I suggest with this that the cans are made to dry you off but at 50% the rate of a camp fire.
