  1. That would give me more of an insentive to kill people just to laugh at knowing they're raging on the other end having to wait an allotted time-frame to play again.
  2. That's a silly thing to propose. You want realistic? Don't play this game. Simple. Realism is not when zombies respawn, items magically get put into the world when needed, invisible barriers to stop you leaving Chernarus and players respawning. If you truly wanted it to be realistic you'd suggest 1 life per server and if you died you'd get perma banned, maps have limited resources and zombies will eventually tick over to 0.
  3. Keep that motherfucker in as a special zombie! 10 meter swing range! #makeitso.
  4. True enough about the Minecraft release. It released as an ALPHA, DayZ SA is currently Pre-Alpha. Want to look at Minecraft when it was pre alpha? Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9t3FREAZ-k
  5. They're working on a melee system for both bayonets and unarmed/melee weapons. Dean said this a fair few pages back.

    Character Learning/ skills

I'd suggest you lose any knowledge when you die and use a Fallout New Vegas approach of losing all knowledge gained from the books over a period of time, it wouldn't try to force grouping, but it would enhance trades.

    Character Learning/ skills

What would happen if you character dies, do you get reset to fuck all 'skills' as you are essentially a new person? What would be the incentive on leveling up if you know some asshat bandit will shoot you when you go north of the coast? I disagree with skills, but if they are implemented I'd like it to go like this: you spawn on the coast, go searching for items, little knowledge of most things, basic medicinal knowledge and the ability to use a fire-arm. Whilst searching places you find books/magazines with information in them, stuff like how to clean a gun in magazines in military items, medicinal handbooks in hospitals, engineering/DIY magazines in super markets. Once you read a book you can craft hard items, apply medicine to a better degree, repair weapons with scrap metal or clean them with rags. Giving you a slight boost in weapon maintenance, medical know-how, and general tinkering. Nothing that gives you a combat advantage like damage/accuracy. But stuff that help you get by easier, use less resources to cure illnesses/make items/ repair weapons.
  8. You are correct, "you feel tired".
  9. He says with a display picture of a game that took 6 years to make. Irony all up in this bitch.
  10. Hi, it's PRE-Alpha, so there is very little in the way of content at the moment. You would expect more of a stand alone which is still in development with no clue as to when it will be open to a public ALPHA, then later comes BETA and then eventually the full release. The content will come, in time.
  11. I believe the next Devblog will be in about 2-3 months, I may be wrong.
  12. You would have to boil it and filter the ammonia out before consumption. EDIT: Which would require a fire, first to boil and second for charcoal to help filter, and a sock, boil the water, let it cool, put charcoal in a sock and pour water into the sock, the liquid that comes out the other end would be good enough to drink.
  13. Food below good condition will give you the shits, every 10 minutes, you stop, huddle over and proceed to mess yourself. This attracts zombies to the smell.
  14. What? They passed the milestone a couple of days ago and the devblog in the original post is a result of the milestone. Can't tell if trolling or just really really dumb.....
  15. I don't think there should be a dodge button, more a chance to 'dodge' bullets to take less damage from them, and maybe a parry with melee weapons if you both melee at the same time.
  16. So, from the video, we have learned that Fraggle is into bondage, gang bangs, and he is very submissive. Interesting.
  17. Even if all of the aesthetic cars are burned out, that adds to the story, everyone with a working car got the fuck out whilst they could, they may have been infected and crashed mid-flee. The military may have blown cars up to stop the spread, there could have been riots/fights on the streets. It just makes the semi-functional cars all the more important.
  18. There's no point adding un-wrecked cars in the game if you can't do anything with them yet. Also we've only seen 1 village so far and therefore have seen the same burned out car repeatedly, there will most likely be other cars which less degradation around the map, we just haven't seen them yet.
  19. Because they're more bothered with the zombies and the multiplayer server architecture before adding cars and the sufficient driving animations/code.
  20. Mate, people die in real life from being shot once in the leg for Vishnu's sake, and some people get shot 3 times in the chest and live, it's about luck really, weather bullets nick important organs or veins. However implementing a lung/heart/headshot to kill in 1 shot would annoying, sure the headshot things are already there, but the head is a big object with a big hitbox, organs however, are smaller targets. It's easier and more feasible to just kill the zombies in X amount of body shots rather than dance around the 'oh you shot him in his pancreas and once in his liver? He's still coming at you then'.
  21. No, time is certainly relevant, Duke Nukem was hyped for those 16 years, as new developers got it they promised bigger and better things, it's just unfortunate that the developers who got the game in the end did a 'disappointing' job. Without hype and being given a different name, I'm sure the game would have sold quite well as an homage to the retro FPS's. It just didn't live up to its long hype or its previous incarnations. However time is most relevant when talking about the shortness of development, for instance DayZ, it's come along leaps and bounds, despite what some whiny self-entitled pre-pubescent people claim. It's come a long way in a short time, but has longer still to go.
  22. No, you are just plain wrong, this isn't a George A Ramero film. This is DayZ where an infection has taken over the human populous, they don't rise from their graves, they don't fall down after getting shot 7 times to sit back up. They are humans with a virus which has symptoms similar to the PCP Crazed Miami 'zombie'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0Q4dRzECUs
  23. Not even that is final!
  24. Looks more like a death animation given to them, as they fall rather similarly.
  25. Rocket, I will murder you if you don't add pink thongs to the game.
