To me this is a top 5 priority in the future. I agree theres GOT to be a way to improve hiding in grass when far away but im not sure that rendering a invisible grass that coats a player is the right way, it may be the most performance friendly wise, but i don`t think its very intuitive and could aswell be a it of an immersion breaker. I`d be all in for increased grass rendering distance or some alternative that really shows on the screen, but isnt that too performance consuming? Maybe rendering details when scoping? They could make the ground textures far better when mid-far from it, making it easier to blend with the terrain, even without grass. (arma 3 example: https://forums.bistudio.com/forums/topic/141790-midrange-terrain-texture-replacement/ What do you think of it? here are some gifs and two video comparisions of this mod: http://i.cubeupload.com/FfXCul.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/TKtDsV.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/x86fj1.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/SULXAb.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/jlLGtF.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/xMvqVN.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/mtRO7A.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/7oZKWQ.jpg http://i.cubeupload.com/x0AeC6.jpg http://i.cubeupload.com/vFn8FZ.jpg http://i.cubeupload.com/Rz84N0.jpg http://i.cubeupload.com/RmtFQ6.jpg http://i.cubeupload.com/yTrXEo.jpg http://i.cubeupload.com/1egPQ0.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/EiZWUW.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/jaijy7.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/N1hE3f.gif http://i.cubeupload.com/qkR7s1.gif trying to spot players on the terrain: https://youtu.be/Rt8zFQZS_8g trying to spot a car in the terrain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWzaWojnrR0 Found this on reddit regarding this issue "It's a simple problem of Bohemia having only 2 sets of textures, one for "you're standing right here" and one for "everything else". A better solution would be to have 3-4 sets of textures that stream in and out at a few different distances, but that apparently decided against that for whatever reason. It's a shame. The textures look fine from far away, but get blurry as you get closer because they are the exact same texture getting closer instead of streaming in a higher resolution version." The thing is that lying in a treeline 500m away and be instantly spotted is more of a immersion breaker than anything. Are the devs planning to do anything about it? edit1: thinking better, i don`t really know how would it feel with transparency/opacity set to players in the distant grass, i guess i need some images to think about it. edit2: this game can render grass all the way up to the horizon https://youtu.be/dTetpr1emas?t=52 maybe, we should take a look at how it works?

No. But I'm from South America so the only servers we can play are from the USA and they have 170-220 ping. This 1PP server i played last night was US Northeast something IIRC.
-
Devs, please add extra 1pp servers to the experimental branch, the only one i can see is always full, so some more servers would sure get a lot of people to try it.

Status of 0.62 on Experimental Branch

Baty Alquawen, Are we going to see a change in the FPS? What does these new graphic textures and overhaul means to the performance of the game? -

YES, great idea! The text also shouldn't be on screen for much time, or else it will just look like a regular global side chat.

my message in the SR: Imagine 50+ players talking in the radio at the same time (and its planned up to 100 slots, right?)... I don't think it's very good idea, unless they limited it to a 5km range (which is about 1/4 of the map), not global. In other hand, what about if the radios could enable a global chat (or area restricted) that shows your message to those in the frequency for 5 seg before disappearing? I think that the mod with those messages that kept going up and never fading were a bit of a immersion breaker. Also, i think that the radio shouldn't take a slot, it should be a wearable IMO. IRL radios are attached to your belt/waist area. What do you guys think?

What makes it so arcadish? Since the textures and graphics are far from realistic theres need to be somekind of mechanism that simulates the action of looking around. I'm not talking about flashing lights showing where the itens are but a punctual key activated surroundings check.

check my the topic i just made with some illustrations.

Some more concept images.

Sometimes it is very annoying when you lose something around an area and can't find it no matter what. Just imagine in real life if something like this really happens. If your`re actively walking around looking on the floor, grass, shelves and etc for something we almost always notice it. What do you guys think about an iten highlight when the player character is really close? It could show only if holding certain key for example (maybe ALT? since we already use it to look around), so it kinda of simulates the focusing and attention to the close surroundings. Or it could be always active. And it doesn't and shoudnt be a strong border but just a opaque line that can go unoticied too if you sprint by it. I don`t think it would be exploitable. Here is an concept image i made with a print a found on the web. I tought it could use an really tiny range (white circles), and an border that isn`t very hard, so it can go unnoticied even if you walk by something. Also, lets not forget the new grass that is coming. it is going to make things even harder.

I'm having the exact same problem as this guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1y8hih/waffles_textures_bug_with_aa_and_all_tree_all/ Screenshots I took: http://imgur.com/gallery/Gegbk I've tried changing all kind of options and I'm still getting this annoying glitch. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? I've reinstalled the graphical drivers already. My pc specs: CPU I5-6600K 3.5GHZ RAM Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 GPU Sapphire Radeon NITRO R9 390 8GB - DX12 Dayz is installed on the SSD. Look, I'm not asking for dozens of servers. I think something around 5 servers would suffice the problem while the game is in Alpha, I'm sure they can squeeze out something like that when they host servers in Australia/NZ, Singapore, Spain, Netherlands or Poland... MOST of the US areas have low populated and empty servers (50+). There are a ton of people in Brazil only that still plays the game and is patiently waiting for it to enter beta phase. We've tried to keep private servers here also, the problem is that they can get ddosed very easily and there is also the problems with jerk admins that reset, ban and kick when they want. Again, take a look at this image http://imgur.com/gallery/dIVnx. I really don't think it is asking too much...

Well, I live in Brazil and there are no servers here, not even private. Lowest ping available is from the USA, which is around 200. I think it becomes a Dev problem when a whole continent is ignored by the developers while U.S and other countries have tons of empty and low populated official servers.
