Offtopic: Im sorry to hear you've been ill, Dagwood. But it's pretty obvious that infection in Dayz doesn't compare to infection in real life, just as little as seeing your teammate getting killed in a round of Team Deathmatch in COD compares to post war trauma that real soldiers suffer. Ontopic: in a game like this is comes down to simulated events that become gameplay mechanics, and I think the blood, food, liquid and temperature were sufficient. I liked infection to be rare, something totally unexpected that happens and adds a sense of emergency to whatever it is you're doing. Now it's way too easy to get infected, and forces players too often to go back to medical areas. Where I think that breaking something as the only reason to head for a hospital was enough. When you lose blood in the middle of the woods you can go hunting, but when infected there's only one thing to do.
