I googled this already but there weren't really any that applied to me... so you would think the high ping would have a pattern. Maybe a mod, or if it has a lot of players its very laggy? Anyways, I always like joining servers that have lots of people on them and I found some server that was 82/90 but.. had a 380 ping. Now, there are also servers that are 0/50 where it says I have anywhere from 10,000-3,000 ping. I run the game on practically max graphics with no problem at all on other servers. So, what are ways I can lower my ping so I can join this server? EDIT: I use DayZ Commander so it says the ping before I even open the game and so I dunno how my ping could be so high without me even playing it.

I see. :/ So, no way to fix it? Edit: I'm looking at all the other top servers (I sort them by players) and in the first 20 not a single server but two are over 80 ping. One is the server I'm trying to join with 420 ping and another is 200. :/ EDIT: I also see a UK server which has 600 ping and I don't have problems joining other UK servers.

So, I haven't had this happen ever like this consistent with any other game... but.. my computer will randomly power off while I'm in the middle of the game. I cannot figure out why. It's not like it starts lagging.. the game is running smoothly... then it shuts off. Third time this has happened. :/ What could be causing it? If you need me to post computer information I can.

Well.. uh.. maybe it may be shocking to know I've cleaned my computer once in.. dunno how many years. >.> <.< Guess I'll clean it.

Uh.. I play on a regular computer, not a laptop. Also, I got those figures only about 30-50 min in and continued to play for another additional hour or so.

Lol.. just checked my comp about an hour in.. every single one has a fire icon next to it except for one. Core 0: 74C Core 1: 69C Temp 2: 71C.. Rest are in 50's and small 60's.. but.. dang.

My computer automatically turns itself back on after shut down. and @Fraggle: I haven't been checking my temps but now with Speedfan up I'll check my temperature every 30 min or so with it so make sure nothing is overheating! Thanks for all the good feedback too!

Ah.. so.. either overheating or power supply? Could it also be dust becaue on the top my computer is pretty dusty. It's been pretty hot here the last two days aswell if that could be contributing.. should cooldown over today and tomorrow. And I recall having some sort of program that read the heat on my computer.. it might be the one linked by King Tubbs. ah, speedfan! I typed search in it on my computer and I do still have it. Does Speefan alert me when my computer is getting too hot? If it does next time my computer shuts off I can see if that is the issue. I don't have DayZ up and running, took a break about half an hour ago.. but two of my items have fire icons next to them.. that can't be good. And now one.. Temp2 is 56C. GPU: 50C Core 0: 49C Core 1: 51C I have four cores.. but it only lists two. Their temperature is jumping up and down constantly.

^ Does that mean there is no day/night cycle? :/

Well, I finally got DayZ in and Arma II up to date so it says so on DayZ Commander.. but now there's always SOME problem and I've never been able to actually set foot on the ground and play as a character.. guess I'll list the problems 1. Are you supposed to spawn as a pigeon? One time I did.. dunno why. 2. Everything seems a bit blurry.. might be graphics setting or.. what could it be? 3. It always stops loading on SOMETHING. Sometimes it doesn't receive all the data and just pauses there, sometimes it's on authenticating the server.. but it always doesn't load something and the one time it did I spawned as a pigeon and it told me to leave and then come back. 4. It always says I'm missing something! One time I was missing some .Optics, one time it was some tree texture, one time it was something else! But it's always something different it says it can't find. All in all, what should I do? :/

Alright! Seems to be working, thanks. ONE QUICK QUESTION THOUGH: This has been bugging me... people and their mics. Some are blasting music, or being general annoying.. kind of ruins the feeling for me. I shouldn't be able to hear them in this anyways since we're not close to each other! (realistic) How can I mute them? Edit: Without muting my sound.. I still want to be able to hear stuff.

Ok.. now I'm having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. But I bought mine from GamersGate, not Steam. I clicked the reinstall button on DayZ and let it install twice to see if that would fix my missing files. Now I always get the same missing file as you listed.. the authenticating server loading screen instantly loads to half way and then gets stuck there for usually around 3-5 minutes.. and then when it finally loaded I was "Pvt. Matthew Lillard" I think, had a vertical, thin white line going through the middle half of the screen and the only box on it was a disconnect box. And all my loading screens are usually black.

I'm having same problem.. but I had it since last night... and I don't use Steam! D: What should I do? And my DayZ is at 1.7.7.1

Like this time it couldn't find the script for wild_spawnzombies... zzz. And then it says "Something went wrong! Please disconnect and try again". or along those lines. If you need any more information or my specs (though I got someone to tell me mine were fine) just ask. I also have additional launch parameters if you think those might be it. I'm not sure.

So, I just found this page two days ago I think it was and was very interested by the statistics on the front page. Made it seem like a massive community. However, I have noticed the "zombie deaths" among other statistics haven't budged at all however the average life expetancy has gone up from 1 hour and 4 minutes to 1 hour and 9 minutes today. Are these updated anymore? Are only certain parts updated? And if neither, why? Thanks.

Ah. Just seemed like such a realistic number. I would expect the max of some sort of data to be "9999" or so. :P

So.. after waiting for the SIX HOUR GamersGate download to finish.. I get the set up install screen finally. I enter my code, it asks me where to install.. I click ok.. and within less than a second it says error and it can't find setup.bin I believe it's called and it all closes. ... WHAT. What do I do now!? All it did was put in the Bohemia Interactive and Arma 2 folder which is empty.. what happened? Well, now I'm starting the installment over again with the GamersGate .. launcher.. thing. It says it's going to take 3 hours but it said that last time and it took 6 hours.

Also, first time I installed it to Program Files(x86).. sometimes programs tell you not to install it in program files which has fixed one problem in particular when I installed it somewhere else. .. I guess I'll get team viewer.

I don't think so.. I entered the code into the installer once it opened up. But I guess I'll see if I can authenticate it on Steam. --Nope. It doesn't work on Steam. EDIT: Well, what would the most common reasons for this problem be? If it doesn't work this time I'll just restart my computer and try again.. but by then it'll probably be about 4-5 am since it's 8pm right now here. (Germany)

Yes, I bought it from GamersGate. I may have teamspeak but I do not have team viewer. Is this that much of a serious problem? Lol. I did NOT pirate the game.

(Hopefully I didn't post this in the wrong place) So, I was watching a "Top 10 Gaming Controversies" by Angry Joe and in it was a game called War Z which apparently was a very poor rip off of Day Z. War Z had a very interesting concept I had not yet seen before but it was garbage so I thought "Wait, there is someone who did it right?" Unfortunately I found out it was available solely to Arma II: Combined Operations.. I have not even heard of what Arma is! But, the game sounded so much fun. I read up on the survival.. gutting animals to receive the BEEFCAKE (what). How shoes wear out.. you need to stay alive.. zombies, bandits, average survival time is one hour!? What.. this sounds good! I got pumped. So, about an hour ago I bought Arma II: Combined Operations on GamersGate pretty much only for this mod. So, hello community! One quick question: On my library screen for GamersGate there's no option to download Arma II: Combined Operations, I have to download Arma II and Arma II: Operation Arrowhead seperately. Once I do that.. do they merge into Combined Operations or something? Some information on that would be much appreciated. Arma II apparently is going to take another 3 hours to download and I'll assume the Arrowhead takes 1 hour and Day Z will take 1-2. So, I'll be playing with you guys in about 5-6 hours! Anything a noob should know before he ventures off into this dangerous land? Thanks in advance.
