No, it starts out closed then to set it you walk up and use the scroll wheel to select reset trap

To Wattoucheng To my disappointment yes, that is correct no bleeding no damage that i noticed just a broken leg. Though I did not try to crawl over one after i had broken my leg. So it looks like if you actually want these to work well you will have to be in the area to hear to snap of the trap and finish ur prey. On a funny side note it did give me the option to morphine a zombie thats leg was broken but it was still walking( i did not try this cause i had 1 morphine left).
