    Fixed it. Verified all files on steam, which caused a corrupt file on dayz within commander, then fixed that, and it works.

    I'm brand new to the game, and I was playing for the first time last night. After going to sleep and trying again for the last hour, every server I join leads me to a mostly black screen. I get a random name (ex: Pvt Mandog), a vertical white line, and the disconnect button. The chat still works, but other than that, nothing. My only option is to disconnect.

    Hey all. I'm brand new to Dayz (Installing the game right now) and would like to find some people willing to play with me (Maybe teach me the basics as well) during my days off or later at night. As far as the different tags I've been seeing (origins and breakpoint), I have no idea what either of those are/means, so, unless they cost more money, I'm probably willing to play either. I'm looking for mature people to play with, and I've got Skype and a 10 slot Vent server to use. I just much prefer to play with a small group over playing by my lonesome. I'm 22, cool-headed, and have plenty of experience with other FPS games (CS, CSS, COD, BF2/3, BL, etc) and want a more intense game to play.
