I only have one guess in that post without evidence- that BIS has told Dean to let the release date slide and not give any info. And it's a good guess too, judging by Dean's track record of communication and interaction. Does that make BIS the bad guy? From a PR point of view, maybe a little. But then again, a bunch of the extra cash will go towards the continued development of the DayZ and ARMA3, which is a good thing. I have been a BIS fan for years, ever since I downloaded the Operation Flashpoint demo when I was a kid, on a 56k modem. And they do delay things sometimes but their end product is unique and fun to play. I can see the big picture so that's why even though I'm also annoyed about the lack of updates (my friends aren't joining me until the SA is released), I'm going to be patient regardless.

Most of the guys who want information based on "Rocket went from regular updates to complete silence, wtf?" haven't progressed to the next logical steps: 1- We all know Dean is extremely dedicated to this game and this community, and has accomplished what entire teams could only dream. 2- We all know that Dean is extremely focused on feedback directly from his fans, and he has spent hundreds of hours on these forums reading every day. 3- Dean is working with BIS now, he can't always have the final say on every aspect of development. BIS needs Dean's mod, and Dean needs BIS's engine and support.. 4- He probably had to have made a deal with BIS, for example "No talk until the Steam sale is over, no exceptions." Tough deal, but maybe he had to do it. 5- He is very likely reading every post in this thread, squirming in his seat and feeling torn apart. High blood pressure, intense stress, and feeling awful that he had to back down from his release date. Point is, Dean doesn't need to prove his dedication to us. He has proven that. If all of us are less selfish and only show support, DESPITE THE LACK OF UPDATES, at least maybe he will be less stressed out when he's reading the forums. Poor guy is definitely a lot more upset about the situation than you are, I guarantee that.

8Gb of RAM isn't enough for video editing and rendering, because I just upgraded from 8 to 16 and feel the difference. 16GB is perfect for me because sometimes I run a video editing program and an audio program at the same time. 32GB isn't crazy when you're doing heavy 3D and animation work also. Twice as much as Flinty needs, but hey, he won't need to upgrade for a long time.

It hurts to read Dankine's posts. They are angsty, un-intelligent, and full of circular logic. Best stop trying to reason with him and let the thread die, folks.

Me and a buddy were walking through a forest when we stumbled upon a Ural in great condition, loaded with supplies. MK48 Mod 0, 35 blood bags+ other med supplies, 19 jerry cans etc etc Obviously a lot of work went into it. I wanted to leave it but my buddy was like "Dude 10 minutes ago you just told me how badly you wanted to find a Ural!" I said, yeah but not somebody elses... So we reached a compromise. update: After the truck adventure we found a red UAZ parked next to a farmhouse. At first I thought it was a spawn because I heard UAZ's spawn at/ near the NE airfield. So I get inside and it's in poor shape: red engine, red fueltank condition, yellow wheel condition etc. So I think: yaaay it's a spawned car and not somebody elses! So we drive it to our tent. Then we notice another tent within visual distance in the forest and decide, okay let's move out camp AWAY from this guy. I find a veerrry nice hidden place in some trees on a slope - definitely a nice hiding place and not in the path of anybody going anywhere normal. Then I notice holy shit, this car is LOADED. 17 jerry cans, food, pistol, coyote backpacks, rangefinder! I tell my friend, maaann this is somebody's car. But since we already drove the half-broken wreck all the way to our camp and found it beside a farmhouse that we were shooting zombies at for 5 minutes, my friend said the dude died or abandoned it, and insisted we keep it. I said fiiine, whatever and play a bit more and logoff. Today I log on and the car is gone, and the guy drove over our tent and flattened it. Lesson learned to my buddy, dont take other ppl's stuff! HOWEVER, how the hell did the guy find the car? Could he be a hacker that located his car on the map somehow? I mean, I'm not a noob and hid the car pretty far from where we found it, and in a pretty damn good spot!

I like Russia, and think it's cool that many russians like MilSims because it supports the developers. However that said it seems like if you aren't russian they will kill you on sight. Out of 5 times I was murdered, 4 times it was a russian dude :(
