I think they likely went with Chernarus because its a safe bet. They know that the majority of people playing DayZ love Chernarus so its safer to have the standalone on a known map than take a risk and make a new map that people could really dislike. -
Why don't people leave the coast?

I stay at the coast because if the standalone is out soon I don't see the point in trying to survive up north may as well have fun at the coast until then. -

Never said they should add it honestly i don't think they should just saying if they do there should be counter measures. Stop saying i said things which i didn't.

I'm talking about the standalone if they decide to add them again there should be some countermeasures such as a thermal shielding blanket.

What i got from this thread was. Zombies are a threat now so i should revert back too 1.7.6.1 so i can loot up easy and go pvp in electro and cherno because i can't be bothered adapting. People need to learn to adapt.

I agree. On a 50 person server i still managed to find a Dmr, m14, nvgs, rangefinder etc. Loot needs to be rarer. -

You NEED an intel processor i5 for this game to run smoothly. But.. For near perfect smoothness you could get an AMD Phenom X4 965 BE 3.4ghz and then overclock it to 3.8ghz like i did. Or just wait for the alpha which is likely out in a couple of weeks which probably will use less cpu as the zombies are serverside.
