    Why don't people leave the coast?

    Because that's where people spawn. A couple more spawn locations inland wouldn't hurt.

    More nonmoving zombies: Also seeing a lot of zombies glitching inside buildings but can't say whether it's worse than usual. Pretty fantastic patch otherwise, made the game enjoyable again.

    Was able to lose zombies properly now, so that's a positive. Game seems to be loading quicker as well.     Welcome to the concept of chance. You might not get infected, but someone else might be getting infected constantly on the first hit.

    Thermal Weapons

    Wouldn't mind thermal weapons if there are just a couple in the whole world and the game is hack free.

    Viral Zeds need to be easy to indentify.

    Yeah, more works needs to be done to make viral zeds identifiable, especially since they're going to get a boost in the hotfix. A unique sound would perhaps be best the way to go about it.

    Sometimes, other times zombies will follow you right out of the building. Also, what if there are no pine trees or open/large buildings?

    Just tried playing again, and it's really problematic the way zombies are literally guarding loot now. Might be fine if you have a weapon but as a fresh spawn it's impossible to do anything about it.

    Sure, that might very well be. That's why it's perhaps better to focus on decreasing the aggro. Decreasing that won't allow you to suddenly run carelessly through zombies, yet it would make sneaking around them much more of a possibility than it is now. And why not introduce certain items that can deaggro them, that would deal with the annoying chase in a different way. Drop something on the ground which they will focus on and leave you alone. That item could be disposable so you can't use that tactic time and time again.

    Yes, and exactly because of the limits of the Arma 2 engine, raising zombie difficulty should be done with great care. It can easily be overdone as it now has been in my opinion. Here's what I would like to see: -Get rid of the bloodhound ability: if you've "trapped" zombies in a building and are 100 meters or so away from them, you should have lost them. -Introduce additional and easier ways of losing zombies: the current system is just a terrible bore, it's not exactly hard, zombies aren't even able to kill you as long as you're running, It's just an annoying waste of your time and makes the game a lot less fun -Reduce detection/aggro: doesn't have to be a whole lot, but looting is either just way to tedious or often impossible. Moving them further away from the loot would ameliorate this problem as well (I've also noticed what I presume is a bug, with zombies sometimes just endlessly standing in a loot location). -Some minor changes in the knockdown ability: seem to be incoming. -Major changes in the whole infection mechanic: seem to be incoming as well. Things like zombie damage, zombie hit points, überzombies, knockdown and other status effect chances don't even have to be touched (with exception of the infection rate), and could even be raised to compensate. Current loot levels wouldn't need increasing as well.

    Nobody wants that to be any different, but we want zombies to be fair in addition to being hard. I don't mind zombies being able to kill me easily, if I have a good chance of avoiding them when I put in the effort. I don't mind zombies being able to kill me easily if I'm able to shake them off. At the moment I'm finding it too difficult or too tedious to do either of those things. And as need matches says: if people with some experience in DayZ think this. What the hell is an actual noob going to think?

    Crouching is pretty obvious, but it's still often useless considering how close zombies are to the loot, and how many there tend to be. Sure, but then you have to actually find a melee weapon first and be able to take it. Well, what is it? Can loot be gotten to with stealth, or do you need to just make a run for it, and try to shake off zombies later? Because people who don't like the patch are constantly accused of doing exactly that; running for it, instead of being careful.

    As Gunslinger said, this is very unreliable and dangerous. Plus it's obviously just a different kind of gamey tactics that shouldn't really be in the game. By all means, if you have suggestions of how to succesfully avoid aggroing zombies or lose aggro please post them. Even better, post a video of yourself succesfully playing the game so we can learn from your superior skills.

    No, i was finding a lot of joy in this game before this patch. I just think the aggro, stealth and chase mechanics were already pretty broken and with this patch have become even worse. To the point of the game just not being fun anymore. If I was able to succesfully loot places without constantly aggroing zombies, or at least being able to lose them properly, I would be perfectly fine. But the current system makes it next to impossible to loot without aggroing and makes trying to lose zombies incredibly, incredibly tedious and annoying. And even if you do lose them, they still sometimes magically appear behind your back a minute after your lost them because of the magic tracking ability zombies possess.

    Because people aren't enjoying themselves, is that so hard to understand? You might like this patch and that's good for you, but others disagree. You do realize that in an actual zombie apocalypse everybody would be dead, right? The developers have to try and strike a balance between hard and easy, surviving and dying, challenge and reward. With this patch, a lot of people think the pendulum has swung to far to the other side.

    By then you first need to actually find a tent of course. This is another issue. With the increased infection system there's a much higher chance you will end up at least mortally wounded at some point. Which isn't in itself the biggest problem if you can cure yourself or barely keep yourself alive. But when you couple low health (and thus low chance of survival), with the probabilty of not having any gear worth keeping, AND the low health status effects (especially the super annoying blur fade in and out), why would you continue playing? You're just giving yourself a headache to try and keep an almost worthless character alive while you could just let yourself be killed and start anew.

    Tried playing some more but it's just not fun anymore. I don't really care about less loot and stronger zombies, I think those are good ideas in general (although they can still use a lot of tweaking: the infection situation is obviously a huge problem, and there should be a little more melee weapons, and less ammo and smoke grenades/flares which I'm finding virtually everywhere). The big problem is just the ridiculous aggro of the zombies and the cheating they do to find you. You can try sneaking as much as you can, but with the stupidly far sight and hearing of the zombies means it's near impossible not to aggro them eventually. Even at night they will still randomly aggro you when not visible and not making sound. The spawns are also ridiculous. I'm constantly seeing zombies spawning literally on top of loot. And they tend to just stand and sit there forever. It's almost impossible to lose zombies quickly now. You can try running up hills and through large building (which makes for really boring and tedious gameplay) but even then when you lose them they still often manage to magically track you down. You can run far away from a spot, but they will still know exactly where you went, even when lying prone and out of sight. The developers should really tone down or completely rework the aggro and chase system. Because at this point I really don't consider the game playable anymore unless you're a masochist.

    Your suggestions were abusing buildings, which is an exploit in itself and doesn't really work if there's no buildings around or when they're small buildings and there's multiple zombies. Attacking with melee, which is only a plausible avenue if it's a single zombie, and which has a very high chance of resulting in damage, bleeding or infection. And finally: running up hills, which only works if there's an actual hill, doesn't really work that well, is again an exploit, and sort of defeats the purpose of zombies being as quick as you. I've tried weaving in between trees and bushes but that doesn't really work all that well either since zombies are right behind you now most of the times.
