Thanks you I'll check it out. I'm still trying to get better. I found a server that starts you out with an axe and a flashlight. Still not sure how people are able to loot without them, to me it seems like a paradox Loot is guarded by zombies weapons are loot Weapons are needed to kill zombies (to get loot) I got lots of help from TMW, and I recommend anyone who needs to learn DayZ seek these guys out. I still need lots of practice, it also doesnt help the people I meet either stab me in the back, or are even fresher spawn than I am. Is there such a thing as super bambi?

fresh spawn here, just got the game when 1.7.7 was implemented and have heard nothing but complaints about it. The infection rate either needs to be lowered, or the antibiotics spawn increased. Sometimes loot fails to spawn altogether. Ive looted many hospitals and see one bottle of antibiotics. I was even so unfortunate to spawn in the water near the shore and become sick before I could even make it to shore. What has happened is you have made it tough, too tough. It's at the point where many people give up after becoming infected, once I'm infected and my blood is low I just let myself get killed. I cant see, cant aim, cant do anything, I've consumed all my food trying to get my blood up. If you dont have antibiotics or get them before dropping to 1/3 blood, its GG.

Wish i had my headset, I have it packaged up to be sent to steel series to be replaced. Best I could do is a rockband mic and PTT. Ill be coming in the TS and joining the server. Every server I've joined either didnt speak english or didnt much care to help.

Its killer man.. Can anyone recommend a 'friendly' server. Not as in carebear but willing to bear with a noob with questions. EDIT: These zombies are omniscient. Ill get a huge lead, run around a house and hide in a shed only moments later to be perfectly tracked by something with an allegedly decaying brain. Its not challenging, its annoying :/ I have yet to find any means to defend myself.

Alright so here is my first experence: I was running, got some zombie aggro and then couldnt run, i had no broken bone indicators but every time i got up and tried to run with double tap i dove into prone. I was eaten alive. Next time i tried to be more careful but still aggroed some zombies trying to cross the road, I ran and hid in a bush as i was told to do but the zombies continued to assail me. I was eaten alive. Third try I found some chemlight,flairs and tin cans in a store I was heading away from town when I was shot. Still unarmed I started to run aggroing zombies. Though I escaped the sniper the zombes beat me unconscious. I was eaten alive, longest life so far 10 minutes. On my final try i snuck around the town. Aggroed a zombie and spent the next 10 minutes running, following the shore but the zombies did not relent. I finally came to a river I thought i could use to escape. I swim across the river quickly as I can and come upon another city. But I quickly realized I had stumbled upon the same church I fled from... I logged out.

I think the strategy of putting it up for short times is wise. they likely don't have the infrastructure to support everyone who would want to buy and play it leading to server crashes no one could play. alpha builds aren't meant to be fully playable, any alpha that is fully playable and implemented isn't an alpha,

I need to download all 16 gb for arma II and expansion plus the size of the mod? sheesh. Also I as the OP fully endorse the threadjacking to discuss the release tactics, Im interested in hearing what you guys think.

August 5th is my birthday, I turn 23. Wouldnt that be cool to have the standalone released then! Waiting on ARMA to download and then have to download arrowhead anad then download the DayZ mod. ah and I saw some of that combat logging in frankies videos, snipers bail when you hit em once.

I'm grappling with wanting to buy it. I dont want to spend the 25$ and then the alpha get released in a week.... EDIT: Just caved in and bought it...

Love these answers guys. how much is arma II? I heard from an interview they weren't saying when alpha was because it was "imminent" (source) What is "Battle log" Are hero and bandit actual things in game?
