Parallels is worse for operating Windows software on a Mac. Now you are running an OS inside an OS with both eating resources. Now you have 2 layers between you and the hardware which often isn't ideal for gaming. Long story short... Don't play games on a Mac, they are not made for it.
-
So... you mean I was correct, you can not purchase such a gun without proper licenses? Thank you for supporting my statement. <_<
-
No they can't and they haven't been able to since 1986. Any full auto rifle assembled prior to 86' can be bought legally but anything after has to be registered Federally. Unless laws have changed you can't even drop in a conversion kit like an auto-sear. Semi-Auto M4s you could buy.... which would more or less an AR-15 carbine. AR-15 is a semi-auto M16 and M4 is an improved version of the M16 carbine.

This was one of my suggestions from the get go. For one thing Combat Logging might not save you as a person can then place mines/beartraps at your location and with persistence on you will be in trouble if you log right back in there. No server hopping issues either. What is more, if you combat log on a private server, you are basically done playing on that server for a good long time, depending on the patience of whom you skipped out on. If it wasn't too high traffic area I would happily mine/beartrap their log out point and then hang around in cover for the next half hour waiting for them. ;) The issue is that we have someone saying, "Well the software lets me do it, it's not a bug... so it's not an exploit." Which most people understand is not true at all. -
Thus why I said, "...for most people but AR-15s are everywhere." I was at a funeral/wake recently for my wife's relative who owned a gunsmithing shop. I would say over half the guests brought a tricked out AR-15. There were more handguns and a good deal of various hunting rifles, even a Taurus Judge, but AR-15s were by far the most common gun there. ;)
-
Technically it would be AR-15s as M4s are not legal to own for most people but AR-15s are everywhere.

No it doesn't, however right now they can't differentiate between a ATC at a civilian airfield and an ATC at a military airfield. This means they would need a different "building" to be the civilian one. They are looking at fixing that with the CLE so that building X in Zone 1 will spawn one set of items and in Zone 2 can spawn a different set of items. Right now if they made it so that AKs spawned regularly in ATCs and put an ATC at the NEAF then AKs would be available there. Now the current issue with the guard houses and Loot 'splosions means AKs are sometimes available in locations they don't want them to always be available, but that is why persistence is turned off and they are testing item spawns.

Check out this.... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/215424-twitter-hicks-remember-folks-combat-logging-is-for-pussycakes-thingsyoulearnontwitch/ Then tell me combat logging is an INTENDED function of the game and not something they simply haven't figured out a good system to deal with.... -
Not in my experience and how would spraying the outside prevent Cholera which is water borne bacteria typically from fecal material? If you got cholera from water bottles it would be in the water not on the outside of the bottle. Now that is not to say someone might have filled a bottle from a pond and then dropped it somewhere... I don't trust 100% full bottles and there are ways to make them less full without drinking out of them... but without persistence I can't see anyone taking the time to grief someone they will likely never even see.

You stated combat logging isn't an exploit and used as evidence that the devs haven't done anything to prevent it. I then pointed out that no one has come up with a good system to prevent combat logging that isn't extremely punitive against those that are NOT combat logging as well, which is why the devs haven't put in a system to prevent it. You then stated there were multiple systems to do it. Thus attempting to refute my claim but continue to refuse to give ONE example as to a system that prevents combat logging but is not also unduly punitive to those not combat logging. See you can't use, "They haven't done anything to stop it." as a green light to say it is okay to do without first establishing there actually IS something they could do to stop it other than shake their finger. See, they put the growing log in timer to help stop Ghosting and Server Hopping and that doesn't punish normal logging out for an hour or the day, but they can't go too much longer on the "in world after logging out" because if they do then it becomes too easy for someone who had no idea there was a zombie or player nearby and wasn't combat logging to get killed for "no reason" in their eyes. -
Some real life first aid might serve you people well. This crap can happen in RL as well. Charcoal Tabs are for poisoning. They help prevent you from absorbing CERTAIN chemicals. They will not help all poisons in RL and may make certain poison situations worse although that might be different in game. They will make you sick in both RL and the game. Cholera is a bacterial infection. For bacterial infections you take.... antibiotics. Cholera kills by giving you severe diarrhea which in turn dehydrates you and causes you to die. In RL antibiotics will shorten the time of sickness but you will still need to stay well hydrated and keep your strength up. In the game the same seems to be true. Because of this I carry antibiotics on my characters and ALWAYS purify water from ponds the moment I am done filling the bottle so I don't forget.

Private hives are about the only way you end up with a community. Public servers have WAY too much turn over to ever get to know the "community".

Soooooooooooooooooo many I can't get you to name one that will function without being overtly punitive to people not combat logging... I see, I see. -

When reloading with a mag/clip make sure you have enough room for the empty mag/clip to go into your inventory BEFORE it tries to load the other. It no longer swaps them, but instead tries to put the mag into your inventory and then load the next one. If there isn't room or the right space it will drop the mag. When you are in a running gun battle it can be really hard to backtrack to where you dropped said mag and I have lost a few that way. Now I keep space open, just in case. -
The majority were meant for slicing or chopping with more pointed narrow swords taking precedent AFTER the occurrence of plate armor which would stop chopping from working and so puncturing through and sliding a blade into the seams became preferable. Once plate went away you can see chopping and slicing come back into fashion with things like Scottish broadswords(basketswords) and sabers.
-
Um.... What? These are not Rapiers we are swinging around here. The sword in the game appears to be a bit broader than some of the later swords which were designed for piercing plate with thrusting but even those were swung against lesser armored opponents(like everyone in DayZ) because they would do more damage swung than stabbing and have a solid cutting edge. Back on Topic, I've taken multiple Zombies out with 2 swings sometimes 3 but I think I didn't connect those times it took 3. I'm unsure about players because like Indian Jones I don't typically bring a Sword to a Gun Fight.

I have to agree with the OP on this though. It was nice when you would have issues in game and ask around and no one else is having issues that you could check your ping and latency and then go, "Oh wow my latency is really bad, hold on I'm going to disconnect and reconnect." It was also really nice so that you could let the server admins know when there was an issue and it was affecting EVERYONE and not just you. It's a really nice tool and I hope they bring it back.

There are "many" ways in which the devs can prevent combat logging, eh? Please enlighten us as to which of these ways have not been tried in the mod and failed? Using your logic since there are many ways they could prevent duping but there are still ways to dupe they either have too much work right now or don't think it's that big a deal.... so it must be okay, right? <_< -

I played on countless private servers in the mod. Combat logging was uncommon among the regulars of a server. Sure someone brand new might do it... but the regulars honestly didn't want that reputation. In fact the regulars would do things like shoot you, then offer to pick you up wherever you spawned and give you a ride to someplace safe. Sometimes they would even strip your gear off your body and tuck it into your vehicle and return it to you. Even those that labeled themselves as bandits would often be helpful. They wouldn't trust you, mind you, but they would do things like pick you up and drop you somewhere so you could re-gear. That doesn't mean everyone would be that way, but it does mean that the supposition that anyone who can take an advantage will is wrong and my experiences on private servers shows that it seems even rarer on them that someone would combat log for an advantage. -

I am not the one who felt the need to thumb my nose at the community by posting about performing combat logging as if daring them to tell me it is wrong and then endlessly trying to justify my questionable actions. Enjoy your life. If you honestly think I'm trolling you report me and we can see if the mods agree with you, but I think you might be wasting their time. -

I usually try and talk to people... I didn't recently but that was because my unarmed buddy was meeting me at a cluster of buildings. I was just moving around such cluster of buildings when I caught movement. I checked the guy out and he had a decent gun which he put away while eating a can of food. I shot him in the head through a window from about 100 yards without a scope. Not a hard shot when you think about it, but I had a buddy inbound without means to defend himself but some good things otherwise and I didn't want to take the risk as I had a slow to reload mosin and the guy had an SKS, at that range he had a definite advantage even if I had the drop on him and told him to freeze and my buddy was about to stumble into everything. -

Two reasons for you to make a post like this. 1. Guilt and you feel the need to be justified that your actions were okay(even if you definitely defend them all you are doing is trying to justify it to yourself). 2. Trolling... which I know you wouldn't do since it is against the forum policy... right? <_< -

Ask yourself why you felt the need to come on the forums and seek approval for your action then. ??????? -
