    Imitating zombie walking.

Not worth the ammo or noise. Until I get an SD gun killing zombies is a losing proposition. Why? because the game makes them far to easy to deal with in other ways. Once I have an SD I will occasionally "pro-active" kill a zombie to clear it out of my path, hide the body, and move on.

cat and dog food -- bloodbags

From what? It's safer to eat canned dog food than to eat at your local Fast Food restaurant. Bloodtype O are universal donors you simply have to watch for the RH of the blood type. I am an O- and so anyone with a - blood type can accept blood from me but I can only have O- blood. AB on the other hand can not give blood to anyone but an AB but can accept any blood of the same RH.

    Aim in Standalone

The answer can be summed in language you will easily understand from years of PC Gaming. "Learn to play... Newb!" This game handles different than other games. GOOD PC gamers learn to play the game they are playing and adapt to it. BAD PC gamers put the blame for lack of ability to adapt on the game engine/design.

    FN FAL or M4A1 CCO?

    Maybe next time try... "employment"?
  5. That is not the only way.... just the most efficient.

a study of the carebear (ursus cura)

You really think that? My daughter crafted better stories when she was 8 with better paragraph and sentence structure as well as better flow to the story and more vivid and imaginative imagery. This poorly written and that is being favorable.

    Wiping wounds stops infection?

When did they ever? I remember people downloading a new patch for quake and being shocked when some things changed because they didn't bother to read the .txt file that came with the patch.

    Your opinions on dayz SA

You look my child, but do not see what is in front of your eyes. Once again we shall point out how the SA is rebuilt from the foundation up so that while it only offers a few new things right now and is lacking a few things in the mod, it will be able to build off that foundation in ways the mod would never be able to do.
  9. My first introduction to it was, "OMG! Main Rotor! Large Fuel Can! Engine Parts! Scrap Metal! I can't believe I can carry all this. With that toolkit I am picking up I have everything I need to fix a Chopper!" I run out of the industrial spawn, agro 3 zombies and think, "Ah, I'll run em off through the bushes." I passed out right in front of the bushes and they killed me. After the, "WTH was that?!?" moment I went and reread the wiki and figure out what went wrong and why having some extra space in the backpacks was just fine. I find myself planning routes based on what I am carrying and the distances I need to travel and how fast I will have to cross those distances. In towns I keep in mind my next "safe" area where I can hole up and catch my breath.

    Aim in Standalone

https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/ad-hominem Mayhaps it is your lack of adaptability to various games that is the "bad"? Honestly, don't automatically jump to calling other players bad players if they don't agree with your premises, it's entirely possible they are just as skilled but a little more open minded or intelligent than yourself. The design was set up in ARMA II to prevent changing your mouse DPI and spinning in 360s with a twitch of the mouse, it accomplishes that but at the cost of some other things. As stated it is unlikely it will be in the SA. DayZ is still not a twitch shooter and never should be.
  11. They will be removing that in 1.0.3. It was in there because of a bug introduced by one of the other things they had put in that is now removed. :)

    Your opinions on dayz SA

Here or different answer over there? I'm confused, where do you want that answer?
  13. I have watched Walking Dead. If we used your mentality we would have who as survivors? Let's see... Season 1.... Lets see... Either Rick shoots Morgan on sight or the other way around. We assume Rick survives. In that case Glen sees him surrounded by Walkers in Atlanta and lets him die, or despite being surrounded by walkers Rick shoots Glen. Of course Andrea and crew would have then shot Rick or maybe the other way around? Hmmmm... They would have shot the "gangbangers" from the nursing home... or... Dale would have shot Rick when he wandered towards the Camp or vise versa... Yeah... totally falling apart from episode 2 on with a KoS attitude. Then we hit Season 2... Darryl should have killed most of the group by now, if not Shane. Instead Carl gets accidentally shot and instead of shooting the armed guy they follow him to his base. Again they don't shoot him or Hershal's group. Really they should have shot them all and taking their stuff, right? Newbs leading them to their base. Ah, but then Carl is dead, and Maggie, and nearly everyone else. Maggie should have lured Glen into the city and shot him while he was looting, or maybe the other way around. I mean both groups had vehicles, guns, food, medical supplies. Oh, but then again all the people Rick actually wants around would be dead. Carl would have died, Lori... well she did die in Season 3 but their baby would have died right away. Season 3 we find prisoners and while one actually did try and kill Rick another wasn't really until he was cast out with nothing to fend for himself at which point he became a KoS bandit and was killed. Sure he was a total ass who got a bunch of other people killed, but it didn't do him any good. Andrea wouldn't even be in Season 3 because Michonne clearly had the drop on her and Andrea had a big bag of guns to take. Stating Walking Dead supports KoS mentality is the HEIGHT of stupidity. About the dumbest argument you could make because Rick's group only makes it as far as they do watching each others backs and because they judiciously bring new people into their group because they DIDN'T SHOOT THEM ON SIGHT!
  14. Seriously... Look down one more section. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/69-clan-group-recruitment/ So if you are "Looking for a few people to play with." or "Looking to team up." You should be posting to THAT thread not here.
  15. I could, but it seems to be allowed right now. I've gotten told by a mod not to report frivolous things already once when I reported someone necro'ing a thread over a year old which is also not supposed to happen. So when a mod locks the topic they will also probably mention that it is okay, or what to do, right? ;)

    Mk17 sd Sniper

You are correct... Well, where ever the Black Market vendor is... that is where the ammo will be found UNLESS They changed the trader tables.

Blow the wheels off it and use it as an extra Tent? The urals store a lot. ;)

    Mk17 sd Sniper

I believe the gun is sold at the Hero/Bandit traders but the ammo is at the Black Market vendor which means a trip to Stary.

Oh Look! We've Got Another One!

If you are alone and new then your best bet is to avoid large cities... for now. What I had success doing when I would die in larger cities. I would avoid cities altogether. Try and find a long barn that is away from large clusters of buildings. If you agro zombies they will enter the barn and walk very slowly towards you and you can usually pick up a few items and move through to the other side. Heck if you only have 1 or two zombies you can often run passed them by getting them to walk close to one side and circling around them. What you can find in the barn are things like Shotguns, Lee Enfields, Hatchets. These will give you a way to deal with zombies. The melee weapon is the most important. You might also find food/drink/bandages and you will need those. Once you have a melee weapon you can hit places like "castles" Rog and Zub. Those will get you more food and drink and maybe a backpack. You might find matches/compass/map and such if you get lucky. You want a melee weapon because you should be able to sneak past most of the zombies and into the tower then move up through the floors looting. Zombies will often keep spawning though and if you fire a gun... you WILL get trapped in the tower. So quietly take out the zombies that follow you into the tower and loot then sneak back out. The rifle/shotgun comes in hand for Deerstands. Find one out in the wilderness with lower traffic. Know how loud your gun is and fire from far enough away that you can hit what you are shooting at but won't agro the other zombies that might be with it. You can clear out the 1-3 zeds that might spawn near a deerstand and then loot it. If you end up good at sneaking you can often wait until they move away, sneak up into it, loot, and get away but you will want to wait until they are a good distance away and NOT LOOKING at the deerstand or you will agro them on the ladder. I don't advise trying to melee zombies out in the open they are too squirrely for that often running up to your side instead of to your face so you miss swings as they close. Deerstands have few loot spawns but higher chances of getting something like matches/map/compass. Then once you are comfortable at clearing out zombies because you have practiced in those more out of the way places you might be able to start hitting towns. Start with some place that is not a big city but has a supermarket: Pustoshka, Zelenagorsk(although this is approaching a larger city scenario), Vybor(little higher traffic), Polana, and Krasnostav. These will give you more low level guns, backpacks, food and drink, tools. Also practice on moving around in a city and avoiding/losing zombie agro. Polana might be a good choice because there is an enterable residential building as well as a long barn and once you are done you can head SE and hit "the factory" off the road there. That can give you some experience sneaking in and out as well although there won't be a ton there you will need without having a vehicle. Even so you can get ammo/food/tools here as well. Krasnostav wouldn't be a bad choice either because if you are comfortable with that you can then head to the North East Airfield and try your luck in the control tower. From there Berinzino will give you a taste of what Cherno and Elektro are like, you might run into a player, you will be surrounded by zombies and need to shake them by using buildings. You can learn what the "corner bistro" looks like and is laid out and how to deal with a horde of zombies following you into one(avoid this). You can raid the Hospital there by breaking out the windows. There is also the school/office building with it's multiple levels and you can learn how to lose zombies in it and it's layout. These will all help you figure out how to navigate Cherno/Elektro. Berinzino also has some military tents which can net you a better gun or other gear if you get lucky. The main point is start small. Find isolated buildings you can enter like barns to learn how zombies move inside. Go to deerstands where you only have to deal with a couple zombies at a time and can fire a gun without drawing a ton of them onto you but you are forced to deal with them outside. Then learn the layouts of building in smaller areas with less zombies and players and work your way up.

    Imitating zombie walking.

Players don't attack zombies, nope, they run around them, get into a building, exit the other side. They run them through a bush/tree or hop a fence and hope the zombie doesn't glitch through but has to run around. I know on a new character I did recently on a private server I had played for a couple days, looted a barracks twice and had decent guns/ammo/gear and had killed a grand total of 6 zombies which means I got cornered in a barracks once and had to actually shoot a few to get out.

An idea for a map ?

Having different locations be handled by different servers is a good idea... however... the biggest issue with that is transitions. In DayZ I can literally shoot someone over a Kilometer away. It isn't simple with most of the guns but I can do it. I can definitely SEE them a Klick away. So that means that 1K+ on either side of the "border" between the two servers they will have to let the other server know what is in that "overlap" area. Otherwise we could be standing 10meters from another player and not realize it till we crossed the "border". At that point each server is polling 4 other servers for that overlapping area as well as tracking everything in it's own area and passing parts of that on to the servers that need to know.
  22. Epoch currently has this system. It is an annoyance and pretty awesome all in one. In Epoch they bumped up the size of the backpacks and got rid of things like Main Rotors and Engine Parts taking up extra slots. So you could literally put 60 Main Rotars in your backpack in Epoch... Then take a couple steps and pass out from the strain. What tends to happen is the extra slots get used up on light weight items(so to speak) like 1oz gold bars, bandages, and such. You tend to plan your running around based on where you will be and what you will be doing. It's all good and fine to carry 2 guns in Vanilla but when the extra weight for a second gun and second set of ammo can push you over a threshold so you get winded and exhausted faster It might not be worth it, especially if you are going somewhere to loot even more items and end up even heavier. You don't want to drive vehicles up to loot areas, but you want to pick locations that are nearby, with good cover to and from the area. So the construction site on the edge of Cherno means parking up on the hill to the East and running down into it. We then lug cinderblocks and such up to the vehicle and split up the weight between us. Even so just the short distance sometimes finds us doing a run from cover to cover with pauses where we catch our breath and let our hearbeat fade so we don't pass out.

Were vehicles patched out of Dayz?

I can be a death sentence. I don't shoot that them because I am trying for a Hero Skin. Other people will happily shoot the crap out of the vehicle to kill the player and worry about repairing it if it survives the exchange.

    Still primarily killed by zombies

Can of Beans, yes. "Wait, was that a Coyote Backpack? Maybe I'll have time to... Well the surf sound sure is relaxing this time around."

Were vehicles patched out of Dayz?

All somewhere super secret and hidden. When I see a vehicle on a official Vanilla DayZ server it is usually from beneath a tree/bush as it blows by me. Occasionally I'll go hunting for them but I just don't have the energy lately and what would I do with the stupid thing when I find it? Hide it so someone else comes along and takes it from me?
