This too. I usually watch for the tell in the animation that they are launching an attack, step to the side, and swing at them.

Zombies are placeholders. Melee works really well in my opinion, but you have to get used to it and know a few things about it. Probably the most misleading thing about Melee is that it actually hits where the weapon swings through. The first thing it contacts along that swing is what it hits. The animation doesn't stop however. So a good deal of the time you think you just head shotted that zombie but you actually contacted the shoulder and so barely hurt it. Try First person and watch where the weapon moves through. Line that space up with your target and you will hit your target. I find for headshots I IGNORE the cursor for the most part and end up just knowing about where the weapon will pass through.

The zombies are not dead people. They are living people infected with a virus that makes them zombie-ish. However we have disinfectant spray and such which I believe at some point in time will be used to clean items that might have germs on them from an infected player. This means you could die from an infection, run back to your body, loot your gear, and end up infected again from your infected gear. It isn't in yet, but in the future I believe this system will be there.

I am the opposite. I play defensively. I watch the zombie come running and watch for the leap attack or wait until it slows and does the Tell for an attack then slip to the side and smack them. It's easy to take them out offensively with the Axe, but other weapons take multiple hits so I try to get used to dodging the attacks and then counterstriking.

Nope. Nothing permanent on the servers yet. It will come in time.

I found two practically laying on top of each other, in a house I believe. The ammo is friggin' everywhere but most people overlook it.

I don't believe they get ruined right now from anything other than being hit. If your stuff is being ruined you can prevent this by not getting hit/shot.

PVP should never go away. However, when I spawn in Cherno and another player spawns nearby It's a bit silly that I need to instantly defend myself against a fist fight so he can... Um... loot my batterie? Tear my shirt into rags now that I likely left him bleeding and he needs one? Or... what? :) -
He isn't talking about from scratch but from parts of choppers that are otherwise damaged. Take a panel here, a circuit board there, engine manifold, seat, control stick, and so on.

Or for those who don't mind spending some money for the features it offers. If nothing else it lets me assign any key or some other functions to those keys. For example, there is a game that uses Ctrl as a modifier key to certain actions so hitting an ability does X but holding Ctrl down and hitting that ability does Y. You can't rebind that modifier key either it is always control and I want it in a handier place so I simply change one of the buttons to be a Ctrl. I can also set up macros on buttons like have one of them set to toggle the W keypress on and off so I don't have to jam a coin into my keys if I want to auto-run in DayZ SA. Oh, and the keys are nice and crisp. There are also a few games where I have different functions assign to different button layouts and can hotswap on the fly into different layouts for flight/infantry/gunnery.

I almost forgot. Dean has stated he definitely wants to add tasers and possibly other non-lethal weapons, just not until more core systems are in place. -

I agree with you, but what you see right now is not even close to how it will be later. Give it time, Rocket stated he wants people to have to look around for items. -
Yep.... If you read Fluxley's signature it tells the story. Alpha just released in a barely playable state. Expect to frequently lose everything you have to bugs and glitches.

While it takes forever to find a helicopter(that isn't 3 klicks off the map) once you find it it takes whatever amount of time is required to run/drive back to your stash where you have a rotor waiting in the Mod. If it takes less for 2+ people it's because someone can drive the car back and you don't have to choose between running there or leaving your working car. :) I've been like, "OMG! A helicopter spawned in X." Hour later I was flying around finding and raiding everyone's tents.

If you read the linked post it states they will add more information as to the road map for features as they figure out what they will be. That is not just the immediate plan but also the ones they KNOW they will be adding and not speculation that never comes true. I think Rocket learned his lesson on making speculative comments. I notice he says a lot of, "I'd like to." and "We will have to see what is possible." when asked questions about future features in the streams he has done.

You would actually be totally wrong. They are infected with something similar to 28 Days Later's "Rage Virus" which is a derivative of Ebola genetically manipulated as a weaponized bioagent. They are alive which is why you can kill one by shooting them in the arms and legs, it just takes more bullets. -
That would probably be best and most balanced, but I doubt it will happen. It would also be more realistic. Cars need very little actual maintenance to keep running while aircraft need a great deal. A diesel pickup can be run off of cooking oil with some modifications while aircraft tend to need specialized fuel.

But I don't think they work on yourself either. I was sick and had a bottle of antibiotics and syringe. I could fill it up but I could find no way to inject it into me.

Nope. The model is done but the functionality wasn't at Alpha Release. I believe it should be the very next gun(s) ready though.

Yep, in it's current life my character is A+. I was like, "Halfway there. At least I can take 2/3rd or so of the blood out there." In real life I am 0- so I give when I can. -

Yep. If you drink your fill you can often make it to other towns even without food although you had best find some immediately upon getting there. If I spawn in Cherno I avoid the normal Mod loot spawns and hit the newer ones that have 1-2 spawn points each. I often find a screwdriver, can opener, or food I can just eat without opening. Then I hit the well and run out of town. While hitting those points I tend to find a hoody/raincoat or even a backpack since people don't seem to check them. -

Here is the thing that should probably be stickied somewhere. Many items only give you an option if in hand. Sometimes you need something it can react with AND the item in hand to get an option. In this case if you have a canteen or water bottle(yes they can be refilled as well) in your hand and you point at the upper part of the pump pole on a well you should get a scroll wheel option of "Fill Water Bottle".
