You can put a phone playing music close to your microphone. That way the game sounds won't get in the way.

The issue is with the fact that steam does not update the CDkey upon account change. It's still drawing from the registry entry that was used during installation. The easiest way to go would be to use a cdkey changer or create .reg files with appropriate CDkey changes for every user.
