I want to share this too. Now I always avoid other survivors if I can. Yesteday, I started a new character in Electro. Looting inside tower of the fire station I heard footsteps outside. At this point I had a hatchet. At this point, I want to give others a fair chance, so I said "Stay away", he came up the stairs and saw with me hatched and he turned around and walked away (or ran). No one died. If he hadn't gone down immediately after glancing at me, I would have axed bye bye. I said "thanks" after he left. A potential murder was prevented.

A couple weeks when I started to play DayZ, I got murdered by a fellow survivor. But it happened so funny. I had no gear, nothing, just what you start with and I was scavanging this village. I see another survivor. He sees me. Nothing happens for a few seconds. Just a stare at each other. I decide to run away. He runs after me. So we sprint for a half minute or so. I try to move between trees and bushes, but he (or she) outrunned me and shot me in the back of my head. I laughed out loud. A fun way to get murdered. :) I used to get mad, but you start realize after a while, that these are the conditions of DayZ.

So does anyone know if all characters are killed in this "attack"? That would be very bad. I would be very disappointed if servers were down now and again, especially if DayZ was a stand alone game. That would not be really good service. I am just saying what everyone would be saying in such a case. Hopefully, this is not a frequent returning event!

I just want to share that I share this problem. It worked yesterday though.
