Chernarus is nice but I'd like to see a new map, specifically designed for DayZ standalone: A map with a large capital city, complete with a subway system, enterable skyscrapers, malls, stores and all that stuff. Airports, military bases, countryside, mountains, lakes and islands. A map that makes me feel as if the apocalypse is happening to my city and I've got to get out there and survive.

Get it straight. It is an Alpha of a MOD for Arma 2. Bugs are meant to happen. You did not pay for DayZ; you paid for Arma2. Get more informed before spending your money, it might save you some whining. Posts like yours appear everyday at the forums. People getting killed by bugs/glitches and writing about how the game and the devs dissapointed them. Well guess what - no one gives a fuck. Shit like in the OP has happened to most of the community, if not all. Just quit without writing about it on the forums, no one really cares... :|

I did something REALLy awful today... I had a broken leg for like 4 hours and like 430 blood, so me and one of my group mates were prone up a hill on the West of the NWAF. As I was sitting there waiting for another one of our group mates to make his way up North with the morphine and blood bags, a dude in camo suddenly appears! I hear "OH SHIT! FRIENDLY, DONT'T SHOOT ME MATE!" on the direct voice chat. I was completely caught off guard so I was like "OKAY, OKAY DON'T SHOOT I'M FRIENDLY TOO!!". The dude was like, "Ok man, I'm coming near you.". So I suddenly see the dude in front of me, I try to make out what weapon he has and I'm suddenly stunned: He is holding the glorius BAF AS50 .50 cal sniper rifle, a weapon I've been trying to find for a month. I suddenly get the urge to shoot him in the face with my FN FAL, but he asks me if I need help. My groupmate is hiding next to a tree behind the camo dude so he cant be seen. I reply with "YES PLEASE DUDE, DO YOU HAVE MORPHINE?". He's like "Yeah sure lemme help you.". So the dude cures my broken leg and then asks me if I need some steaks. I'm shouting "Oh yeah man, you really saved my life!" and he starts throwing the raw meat on the ground for me to pick up. At the same time though I'm on voice call with our group of 5 people and I'm telling them how much I want that gun and that I'm thinking of killing him, but I cant cause he could have shot me without even seeing him but instead he's helping me out! I finally give in and tell my friend to shoot him with his M249 SAW. As my friend is taking aim, the camoed Good Samaritan is like "Allright man I'm gonna cook the meat for you and then I'm leaving". He starts to sprint away but I'm like "DUDE WAIT! I want to ask you something, come here".... As my savior stops and walks back towards me to hear what I want to ask him, my mate shoots him 5-10 times with the SAW just to make sure... He hits the ground. I can hear flies. I search the body: AS50 with 10 mags (!!), full survival kit, extra camo clothing, GPS, M1911 with 6 mags, lots of meat, 6 bottles of water (full), meds, blood bags... This man must have been playing for a week or so... He appeared out of nowhere, helped me heal from my wounds while he could have just shot me instead and take my FN FAL with 8 mags in our tent (our tent was next to me), he was building a fire so he could cook meet for me and I just lured him into a trap and killed him for his weapon. The apocalypse man... It does things to you TL;DR : SORRY CAMO DUDE BUT YOU HAD AN AWESOME GUN :)

I like all of these ideas! Would love to see them implemented when DayZ really kicks off! I'd also like it if the structures you build need some sort of maintenace so that you constantly need to have some kind of an objective: "Hey guys, today we need to go into the town to find some scrap metal/wooden planks for the outter wall!"

I'm not stating that I'm teaching someone how to play, nor am I justifying my actions. It's a game, if I had to justify what I do in a game then fuck me. I'm studying network and computing systems at University IRL and I'm also designing band logos, web banners and the like as a "job" for some income. I'm a pretty relaxed and happy person. Who I am though does no affect how I play this mod. I prefer to play with a group, it's more fun this way. I kill on sight if I've been spoted or if me or my group mates are in danger. I like to help people sometimes with meds and weapons. I also kill people sometimes because I want their meds and weapons. I NEVER kill just for fun, everytime I kill it's because I need to loot the body for stuff I/we need. But I have no problem killing other players. The Internet anonymity gives you total freedom to do what you want. If everyone's playstyle reflected who they are in real life, the world would be 60% uneducated serial killers! :P

Ahh I remember my first nade... I was alone outside of the Elektro power plant with only a Makarov and a grenade I found inside the power station. As I went outside to search the 2 small buildings around the plant, I saw 2 guys with M16s entering the firestation garage. I'm thinking "Yay, free weapanz!" so I stand near on of the doors and start throwing the frag. I missed for an inch, the nade hits the door frame and hops right back in my face. BOOM! Good times :)

It is true that since I got the AS50 I've been playing in constant fear of someone jumping behing a bush and shooting me in the head! I'm turning paranoid. I play with a group though, so "sitting in ambush alone" is not an issue. We move together and cover each other. The other guys have cool guns too, so we need to be constantly alert and ruthless if we want to keep them! :P Cheers!

This game is not meant to be balanced. I used to get sniped while trying to find a hatchet to defend myself. I didnt demand the Devs to COUNTERACT snipers around coastal cities just because I got pissed off at getting killed. Instead I figured out how to avoid them.
