Yep, or via Bootcamp which is in fact just a Windows partition running on the Apple hardware. Edit: late reply is too late.

Dunno. I think it's even less than 300. Maybe even less than 200. 150-200? No need to zero that if you're aiming for center mass. (which he does, but misserably fails to achieve. :) )

Yep. Thats what a lot of people don't understand. I rolled back my server to 103718 and now there are some players connecting after a week of 3-4 player all together. So sad.

Well, I totally agree. I run vanilla with the steam-patch at 112555... We are about 3-4 players here. The version-debacle is a total disaster. The fabulous 1.8.1 patch is suffering so badly at the moment, that I wanna scream. I fear that with gamespy closing down at the end of june, the vanilla servers might have suffered to a level of no return. So so sad.

There is a new promotional video for the Snowdrop Engine from the GDC. I know... complete different application of an engine... but man, it looks aweseome.

I play as hero, I never KOS. As said before, asshole/friendly-ratio is about 1/1. I enjoy interacting with players a alot and I believe it´s the only way to get the most out of the game. It´s hard, though. -
This happens especially on Green Mountain. This hellish place is haunted. Ask any grizzled Dayz vet and he will tell you stories that make you pee your brown hunter pants.

Hmm... I acutally experienced pitch black nights. You are right, with the moon up in an open field, you adapt very quickly and moving confidently. Even with no moon up it´s alright and you adapt. But did you ever find yourself in a forest, overcast sky with a new moon? Boy that's dark. So dark it makes you reach out every step in fear to hit a tree. It´s all about the surroundings. While there is virtually no night in cities, a forest can be very different, depending on weather and moon phase. -

Oh... another one. Get attached to a veteran player. Having a sensei is not a bad thing. Feel free to check the link below, if you´re in the GMTish part of the world. You´ll always find some dudes playing various styles (bandid, survivor, hero) there in the evenings. And most of them are pretty hardened veterans.
