I just don't know sometimes... 1 Long range weapon(AS50) + 1 preferred medium-close range weapon and everyone can be just as useful in almost every situation. If you want to feel useful or role play with squad roles and try to get that kinda feel for the game I can understand that I suppose but then you may handicap yourselves for some situations. Your designated food and beverage carrier dies first etc.. Someone may be better at sniping but the only time I don't see that effecting many situations.. Maybe if you see 1 guy and want a guaranteed kill after 1 shot?

Squad role: Party Vehicle Guard. All the good squads have them. The sigs are a good laugh sometimes.

Most people will say the AS50 because overall it is the best if you are playing for that kind of performance.. 1 shots players, zeroes in, not much recoil, shoots fast, tons of ammo from tents, hackers, dupers plus NATO rounds can blow up a vehicle pretty easy. The most fun personally is the M249 SAW.. Going full auto on people 300-400m away laying down is great.

Never said I was avoiding it but surely there can be something better or more clever but that isn't for me to decide. It really does sound cool and I might try it out.

There are tens in DayZ in which people store items. I've put a lot of time into finding these camps. It's not about the easiest way to get the items but how you choose to get them really. Not everyone wants to kill people and take all their items. You just repeat yourself, no one cares that you're a try hard loot whore. "in a game that makes scavenging one of it's main aspects?" Everyone has their own way to get items, right? Isn't that the entire point of this? You trying to prove there's no penalty for killing people for the "fastest easy items". If I want a quick easy full best in slot gear up I know where to get it but that is not what I am after most of the time. That removes a lot of the rewarding factor away. You can kill someone and take their gear, that is rewarding. Looting something with your friends may be rewarding, who knows.

I actually feel sorry for you if you think that. This is a problem caused by most people knowing and willingly exploiting it. I am sure we have all done it one way or another, intentional or not. Whether or not it is done 10000 times a day or even 50 times, that shouldn't matter. I highly doubt the process is easy to fix as it has a lot to do with desync(I may be wrong)and cannot be done overnight because 500 more people started duping.

Aye, a lot of people think what they see as good cover makes it good cover. From like 50+m away that long grass and from being in a heli there is little to no cover unless you have something over your head or possibly some thick tree's.

What logic is that? This game has been flooded with the highest tier loot possible for a while.. This does NOT help or contribute.

If I need gear, I spawn at Kemanka and run for 5 minutes then I have an AS50, L85, NVG, 24 Coyote, GPS, and everything else I could ever possibly need. Just because this game revolves around gear,looting and items for you doesn't mean everyone else is only playing for that crap. It's like talking to a brick wall, a retarded one at that.

I am a fanboy here to criticize you. They branched off the mod and started working on the standalone. At least that's the impression I get. Have some patience, it is still in it's early stages. Maybe play something more stable for now. ;)

You keep making it all about "getting items and loot", this game does not revolve around that and to some people they value different things. How can you not understand that yet? It boggles my mind that SillySil the contradicting queen can feed himself.

They could make a movie about this and call it "I used to murder everyone but then I didn't mean it." How do you not have a choice? Stop shooting people... "I used to kill everyone I saw but now I don't mean it". In life there are consequences and such is applied to this game.

Holy crap, this is still going? SillySil..tsk tsk. DayZ is a game most enjoyed portraying yourself or someone / something you want to be through your in game character anyway you choose to do so, at least I like to think so and from my experience.
