I use OBS mostly because I stream at the same time I save game play to a hard drive. I also like the plugins for OBS like TeeBoard. But I also have 5 ssd's one dedicated and optimized for recording only, one dedicated to Windows OS, and another dedicated to games. There are many factors that go into frame drop, if you can't upgrade your internet or hardware start with lowering the quality of your recording.

First you need to understand the nature of Alpha and Beta in gaming, Alpha is for adding features to the game not for fixing bugs! Everytime something new is added to a game it breaks the things already in the game, If the dev's would fix bugs everytime they added something new they would just end up fixing the same bugs over and over. Beta is for fixing bugs, why? because everything has been added to the game and the bugs can be worked on and will remain fixed.

First I tear up my shirt for bandages, throw away the flashlight, get enough clothing with pockets to hold some food and drink, find some food and drink, find a melee weapon for zed intervention. Then I run around looking for people to interact with and find I have more fun with people then spending hours gearing up with tons of gear just to be KOS by someone using aimbot or other hacks. If I get killed no big deal takes only minutes to rinse and repeat. IMO the game is no where near polished enough to warrant gearing up and I do have so much fun meeting people and hopefully changing there mind about KOS. I would like to say if you are of KOS mentality, talk to me first, handcuff me, rob me do something to make the game more fun and interesting. KOS just means you do not know how to play the game. Anyway in 2 days I'll be playing Watch Dogs and at the end of the month The Forest (another survival game) if it doesn't get pushed back again. Happy hunting no matter your style of play.

PLEASE make it so gamma and brightness settings can only be set at the start of a game and never during! Changing your brightness and gamma settings during game play to see better at night, to me is no different than hacking to gain an unfair advantage. If a player can just change settings to see better at night, well you might as well just get rid of the night vision goggles, they are not needed. Just one thing less to worry about while developing the game. A few players I've talked to would prefer not adjusting gamma and brightness but feel forced to as other players will do it and have an unfair advantage. While were at it why not just add a color, saturation and hue option that way we can adjust it so players will look orange against a grey background. I really enjoy how immersive DayZ is to play. I like the fact that gear is going to be really searched for and that zeds will be tougher in the future. This all means nothing when you allow such an easy way to cheat like adjusting gamma and brightness. Not to mention that it takes away from the whole DayZ experience.

It's simple just remove all weapons.

There is a standalone coming out? Cool

DayZ Community afraid of the Dark?
RollingLizard1 replied to neosky5k's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've never played "Slender Man" just watched it on some YouTube vids. But using the same argument of some people I guess that would be a better game if played in full daylight. While were at it let's edit all the dark scenes in the movie Pitch Black cause I hate it when I can't see the scenery. Oh and yes I will be setting up a website to petition Disney Corporation to turn on all and brighter lights for their attractions at the theme parks, such as the Haunted Mansion, Peter Pans Flight and Space Mountain just to name a few. -
Tried everything to improve FPS? Look here, from 10 to 50fps!

I use my computer for many things which include but not limited to CAD, 3d modeling, 3d animation, movie editing, website design, scripting and much more. Now I'm sure that for people that just use their computers to browse the web, read emails and play games there would be no issues with win8 running mainstream win7 programs. The programs that needed upgrading were from developers that were not household names. I had win7 running at 64bit so that was not the issue. Explain to me please if all win7 programs run on win8 why Microsoft would have developed the "Windows Upgrade Advisor" which ms advises you run before upgrading to win8 to see if your programs and devices will work? As far as I remember Microsoft has never done this with previous versions of windows. Edit- and yes I do know about compatibility mode in win8 and I use it. -

I have a number of programs that would not run on win8 after I did the upgrade from win7. I had to wait for the software developers to update those programs for use with win8. It has been my experience that most developers that do not list the latest version of windows in there specs either no longer develop the program, are working on a new version that is not an upgrade to the old version and will have to be purchased again or have sold the program off to some one else who may or may not support it. I'm not saying this is true of what you offer. I just prefer to do my homework before spending money. Some of my rules when buying online from small or little known company's are Does the contact info list a real address not a po box. Then do a mapquest and see what is at that address. Does the contact info list a real phone number preferably a 1-800 number that works. Does it look like the product is still being supported Do a whois lookup on the domain name see registration info and whether it matches the website and if it is private or not. Go to Google type in "product or company name reviews" Go to YouTube do a search there. I have yet to make a purchase online that I have regretted. -
Omni- that's one way to add fatigue to DayZ. I'm sure after playing DayZ 4+ hours a day not only would you be able to enter the Boston marathon but also win it.

From the disktrix website. • Now Defrag All NTFS System Files: MFT, Page File, $Logfile, Hyberfile, $USN ChangeJournal and more. Not only can you defrag them, UltimateDefrag lets you specifically place them where you like for optimum performance - for 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7, Vista & XP. Why not win8 I tend to mistrust software that is so slow to upgrade to new versions of windows. -
DayZ SA - Hosting & Security
RollingLizard1 replied to gummy52's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't see it as pay to win, but the selling of virtual real estate, which is done in a number of online games. I see that building homes is available in some version of DayZ, My guess would be that all serious players would choose the subscription to get the cache thereby negating any advantage it would give a player. Leaving free play to players not really in to the game. I also play SecondLife where I pay a monthly fee, where I own virtual land, where I build, script and sell items. Where the money earned in game actually translates to real US currency and provides me with a nice income. I would be willing to pay a monthly fee for server use as long as there was something I was getting for my money as opposed to playing for free and as long as the benefit was the same for all players that paid the fee such as a cache I do not see it giving any individual an advantage over any other paying players. But still leave the play for free option as well. -

Ok how about this there is a monthly fee but at the same time there is free play. Let me explain, the game after purchase will always be free to play, but if you pay a subscription fee you would receive say a special cache site of maybe 30 slots. Now this cache is lockable meaning only the owner can access it. It will be permanent and can be moved around in the game. Could take this Idea to the next level and say the higher subscription fee you pay the more storage space you have, within reason. -
Should there be rewards for surviving a long time?
RollingLizard1 posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm a noob only played DayZ maybe six times. I'm doing pretty good at sneaking around and getting gear, haven't killed or been killed by anyone yet. But damn those zeds were tough at first. Is It just my imagination or do they hunt you down if you have full blood or when you alt+tab. I guess the reason for kos is there is no consequence for dying. Other than you lose all your gear. It's not hard to gear up again so I'm guessing people don't think twice before starting a conflict hell if the're playing with friends they get a limo ride and all the gear back. Now I would not like to see a punishment for dying like that other hack of a game with it's delayed respawn timeout. Maybe we could go in the opposite direction. Get rewarded for staying alive longer, if you have survived for 30, 60, 90+ days without becoming a bandit you get to respawn with part of your gear starting with the basics axe, water bottle and so on. The longer you live the more gear you keep. Could even set up a leader board for who has survived the longest, although that could make you a target especially on servers using name tags (who's brilliant idea was that? Why not just add a map lower left with all enemies shown) Sorry I digress, any Ideas for rewards for surviving the longest? -
Ok my 2 cents, I want to be a loner in the game, I avoid other players when I can I like the fact they are there and can either be a help or a murdering piece of crap. I enjoy being a ghost and moving amongst you unseen, that's right I was in that bush you ran by so secure in your safety, when one swing of my axe ........? I do interact with players when it suits me. I do not want to be forced to team up. All you people saying "no loot and super zeds make the game real" I say to you bullcrap! There are a ton of things that affect the realism of this game, check your pockets right now I bet more of you have a knife and matches or a lighter then you do bandages and aspirin. Sticking a needle in a vein is one of the simplest things to do yet no self blood bag. Not to mention, how many of you can change an alternator or a starter on a car in rl? Yet in game we are mechanical and aviation engineers right from birth. So take that realism crap and stick it where the sun doesn't shine! Because it is a game therefore subject to the whims of the developer. I will continue to play DayZ as a loner no matter what gets thrown at me, because I enjoy the challenge. If I get infected or break a leg and have to crawl home.... well dammit I will .

They seem to be able to do it at secondlife.com I can walk from one server to another with no apparent signs of having done so.

will the admin live server tool be in standalone ?
RollingLizard1 replied to dgeesio's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The obvious solution to admin abuse is just go get your own server. I for one am glad for all the good admins out there that create great and safe places for me to play. Only complaint I have is extra gear at spawning in and servers with tons of vehicles. I prefer to be a survivor. -
What I like the most about 1.7.7 update?
RollingLizard1 replied to Pwny (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Agreed. Flashlight, lighter and knife kept at all times in my house and vehicles. On my person there is always a pocket knife and a lighter yes I'm a smoker. So if a disaster of any kind were to happen I would always have these items on me or in easy reach. Much less likely to have bandages and painkillers or road flares. I can't even remember the last time I saw road flares in use. Everything is LED now. Next time I'm at the auto store will check to see if there even still selling them. -
Ok I'm in DayZ I can do all types of mechanical and aviation repairs. I can drive and fly all types of vehicles. I'm a Master of astronomy, orienteering, survival and weapons. I can heal my friends with bandages, pills, give shots and transfuse blood. But yet I lack the knowledge of any drug addict out there, I cannot find my own vein. Although I can find the vein on countless people every day for some reason I cannot find my own. After giving literally thousands of blood transfusions to others to this day I cannot give one to myself. Some day I can only hope that this mystery will be revealed to me. Til then I will always have bacon.

Licensing rights for content in SA
RollingLizard1 replied to GBTP's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
With coke and pepsi paying millions for product placement in tv shows and movies seems kinda stupid for them to ignore a game where thousands of people play every day and even more watch on youtube. Contact the folks at Snapple I'm sure they wouldn't ignore you. Snapple is a better product anyway. -
I mostly crawl cause my leg is broken and I haven't found morphine yet. But according to the reviews of the new update this is a good thing. ????

DayZ Flaws/Suggestions For Making The Game Better
RollingLizard1 replied to Carly135's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like that it's harder. I like that things are hard to find it was all to easy before. To easy to gear up and then run around killing people, no zed apocalypse survival in the game at all. Was kinda like I was living back in NYC. Things I dislike I can run around all day and bloodbag everyone but I'm too stupid to know how to bloodbag myself, really? The fact that anyone can fly a plane or heli these should be learned skills, I don't know maybe you have to find manuals before you can fly. Seems like meat doesn't heal 800 points anymore or does it over time, not sure how much time. Come on us loners need a way to heal blood. That's discrimination. Not all of us are kos players. -
There is another survival game I play that I enjoy a lot. When I die in in it I some how feel worse than when I die in DayZ, not sure why this is. It is not a multiplayer game not sure if it would be better if it was. I do know my will to live and survive is the same if not stronger as playing DayZ. I do know that player interaction is what has me playing DayZ. In some ways it is a lot harder game to play than DayZ. I guess if it wasn't so cartoony and more of a realistic setting and had multiplayer I would play it more. I think the devs should take a look at "Don't Starve" the survival experience imop is similar. Now that DayZ has become more accurate it will be even a better game.

Remove gamma and brightness settings
RollingLizard1 replied to RollingLizard1's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I know dammit! I just hate when people take advantage of an option don't they know they are only cheating themselves. Just need some way to make it more inconvenient.
