You would be incorrect.
-
I think most rational people know that the alpha will not be out this year.
-
I still can't figure out where the quote came from but I'm guessing it was during E3 as you can see from http://www.dayztv.com/standalone/dayz-standalone-e3-gameplay-reveal/ one of the things listed is There will be no “Random events” (Downed helicopters, Abandoned campsites)
-
Says Rocket. I honestly don't feel like looking for the quote but I'm sure someone will back up what I said. At some point, Rocket basically said he had no plans of adding dynamic content such as helicopter crashes because he feels it takes away from the player driven stories or something like that.
-
Somewhat worthless of a suggestion since there won't be any helicopter crashes or any dynamic events for that matter in SA.
-
If you've followed the development, you'd know Rocket says a lot of things than retracts and says something else. It's not an uncommon practice for him...

You must play the mod on really low settings because those tree models are exactly the same as ARMA 2. I know they are suppose to be using the ARMA 3 lighting system but I haven't really seen it in any of the screenshots. Check out the link below of Chernarus ported to ARMA 3 and you will notice how much the SA screenshot looks like ARMA 2. http://www.pcgamesn.com/dayz-s-chernarus-has-been-imported-arma-3-looks-really-nice

It's an alpha, it is all about testing things. Besides that, they can easily wipe the hive and reset everyone whenever they want.
-
The M4 is the only gun that is going to be in the initial alpha. It was said somewhere but I don't feel like looking for the quote. It might have been in a devblog... who knows.
-
They have apparently done a lot of the models but they aren't implementing them into the game until they've completely fleshed out the attachments system using the M4 as a base.
-
I guess you say that because it has the ARMA 3 sky. The only gun currently in the game for alpha is the M4. They will add more later.
-
Looks like ARMA 2 with higher quality player models to me...
-
It's funny that he says that now because I recall him saying it was as easy as pressing a button :P
-
I hate to tell you but I seriously doubt you will be allowed to run a server with a password or white-list in SA. The official mod had specific rules you had to follow to keep your server connected to the public hive, one of which was you couldn't password the server.
-
Funny joke...
-
That is going to happen anyway because I can guarantee there will be plenty of people sporting aimbots and wallhacks. Cheaters love pissing people off and what better way to piss people off then easily stripping them of stuff they worked forever on.
-
It can't get any further away so sure...
-
It will be better than the mod but don't expect something amazing.
-
Yea obviously it wouldn't be called STANDALONE anymore. I was just explaining why it would be smarter for BI to do it that way.
-
They could make DayZ SA an expansion to ARMA 3 and make more money. Make people purchase ARMA 3 at $60 and then pay another $15 for DayZ. :P
-
They're going live on the final lap soon! YAY!
-
Pretty sure it stands for zombies or zed, otherwise, why would someone make a mod of DayZ and call it DayZero, if it was already called DayZero. The storm of 2014?
-
It may be an assumption but you know it is absolutely the correct one.
-
Do you honestly believe that if the DayZ mod came out and it was just all about survival and didn't have zombies in it that it would have been as popular as it was? I don't think so, therefore, zombies are indeed a core feature.
-
Will the release of the single player game signal the death of the modding community?

How many copies do you "guarantee" will sell?
