nah bullshit bro, i want it NOW NOW NOW In all seriousness, I've seen the stuff that ARMA guys do with scripting missions and such and it basically makes my brain melt, i cannot begin to imagine the work involved with modifying a complex engine like this into doing things that it was never intended to do. If anyone says anything negative about this game based on the fact that its not released after only 6 months of full blown dev work, they are basically telling everyone that they have zero clue about how this stuff works. -

Is it just me or where other people excited when the initial release date was scrapped? I was stoked! I was informed about the development and new it was a repackage of the mod set for a december release. Hearing that it was going into full blown standalone development was almost as exciting as a release for a long awaited game :lol: I enjoy the nerd rage over the delayed release date, your tears and impatient anguish give me the greatest joy. you know who you are fuckers. :lol: Edit: holy shit rocket posted, are you high? go back to reddit where you came from :P -

Im really curious to see if the features put in to mitigate shoot on sight will work. The longer users play the mod rather than the standalone, the more the culture of shoot first or die will be instilled me thinks.(if not already strong enough) -

This whole "its alpha so dont judge" talk is a grey area in my eyes, their are clear goals with the alpha and i personally think that the element of zombies which is the key catalyst of this game needs to be somewhat polished for the initial release. Lets not forget what the hormonal trolls like to whine the most about :lol: Having said that, i dont expect them to be perfect, i just dread the zigzagging, -

all i can say is ...meh. Im becoming slightly desensitized to the hype and build up to dayz. I stayed up to watch it and went to bed with only one thought. meh. Dont get me wrong, i will play the shit out of this game, but nothing made me clinch my buns. Personally now that architecture and performance has been sorted, all we need now is the game to be released, crafting is trivial at this point, just needs content, its obvious major changes have been made to the engine to enable items to be damaged etc(this is HUGE imo) Still one major thing that needs addressing, zomble animations and pathing, i couldnt give two toss pots if the animation of the zombies are mocapped by a naked ricky martin, if those fucking zombies zigzag me, i will insta-uninstall, simple as fucking that. I feel the alpha release is loaded though, i predict massive backlash regardless of how polished it may be for an alpha :( i truly hope this isnt the case, but our mate Gummy will generate enough content for a lifetime. i can see it now "Why isn't there sugar free soda, this is game breaking" To be proactive, can we have a dedicated sub forum/sticky for SA feedback? I think it would be easier to moderate and give a nice convenient location for all the trolls to stroke each others stumps. -
Great to see the guys at E3! I have to say, watching the DayZ debut after watching The Division made me cry :( If only DayZ could be all that it is plus the polish of a AAA title. but i digress. Im fully aware of the fact that this is in alpha so dont nerd rage me children. I have to be honest and say that, im slightly disappointed with the build that was shown. It looked like a lot of the hard work that has been done is not shown here (besides the inventory) Zombie running animations/pathing dont look different to me. i really hope this server tech works well as so much emphasis has been put on it. I really do hope that its worthwhile. one thing that really excited me was that servers will have 150 players :D I still remain optimistic and trust Dean and the team to come through.

agreed, could initially get pissed but then im sure it can be worked into the crafting side of things. could be a disinfectant or used for molotovs. Vodka or alcohol in general is VERY useful :thumbsup: -

With the improvement of animations, i hope complex abilities come with it. e.g -holding someone as a human shield -hiding under a pile of dead zombies -shooting out of cars -fluid and intuitive melee attack animations -changing weapon, throwing nades while moving. -waving/ giving the finger :lol: unrelated suggestion quickly Whistling! could be useful to distract people or find friends. trade off would be drawing nearby zombies B)
