Yeah, I spend most of my time travelling up north looking for crashed helis and deer stands to arm my upcoming squad, and I rarely encounter zombies/players up here. I'm on my 6th day with this character, and only have 70 zombie kills, and 0 player kills. I'd love to know how many kilometers I have ran (probably in the hundreds haha).

I don't think it should be faced that way. Cigarettes really relieve stress of a smoker in the first place. For a non-smoker, it doesn't do anything. I think you should have the choice to be a smoker or no in DayZ. Maybe add highs and lows with both, like maybe like you said for a smoker you would be able to "relieve stress" (maybe they could work like painkillers, but aren't as effective), and as a smoker you would get hungry/thirsty quicker when running for long distances. And of course, a smoker would be addicted, so maybe it would add another icon on the right with a cigarette pack who works like food/water after your character has smoked X times. When the meter goes all the way down, you would start to shake and panic.

I read somewhere that "Sobor" means church. So New/Old Church. Though I am not sure, but it makes sense, there are churches in both.

I just found out something, 90% of the helicopters I find are within 500 meters of a deer stand, though I do go a lot for deer stands, so that might be it. So you get 30 fps on max settings? Lower your settings. Here are mine, I get a steady 60fps with an old gtx 470 on these, and the game still looks nice (though in cities, the textures are a bit blurry, but you keep the constant 60fps): Texture detail: Normal Terrain detail: Normal Post process effects: Disabled Video Memory: Normal Objects detail: Normal Anisotropic filtering: Normal Shadow detail: Very high Antialiasing: x5 HDR quality: Normal

I am also happy when I die. I say to myself "This was fun! Let's do it again!", plus, it makes me feel like anything can be a gold mine.

Edit: Just switched out my m14 for a m107, and my FAL for a bizon SD.

Also a great day looting for me. Found a ghillie in cherno, a GPS in a tent of stary sobor, two heli crash sites with: FN FAL with 6 mags, NVG, m14 AIM with 1 mag, and tons of STANAG SD ammo, just in case I find a m4 CCO SD.

I think you should be able to put the Czech vest pouch on your belt, and it adds the additional 6 slots to your backpack or your normal inventory slots. Right now, the vest pouch is useless. Though for me, the rotor assembly doesn't take enough slots. You can grab it in a patrol pack, and I doubt it's like the tardis, bigger inside then outside.

I have found a duo ghillie - camo in the same building, so I guess it is possible.

That's weird, I find a lot pretty much anywhere, even found some on the roof of cherno city hall and in restaurants.

I was on a server (RU 10 with 20 slots to be exact), and I find a downed heli. I say in chat "I found a downed heli, I'll give the coords after checking it out". 30 seconds later, I get a beautiful message: "You were kicked from the game: Admin", or something along those lines. I log back into the server, the heli is still there. I walk a bit more towards it, and I get "Connection lost". He rebooted the server to reset the helis so that nobody can profit from it. Am I butthurt? Hell yes. I think I saw a .50 cal near it while scanning it with binocs. That's it, I'm gonna stop saying it when I find helis... Too many greedy ba$tards out there. PS: sorry if this is the wrong section to post in, but I cannot find anywhere else. So, what is your worst admin-related event?

I already found two crashed helis within 50 meters of each other, my role-playing side just thought they were working together and somehow both crashed at the same time.

Play on the max resolution of your monitor, and set your interface size to very small.

Between 6 and 7. I don't usually go hunt players down in big cities, only if I hear gunshots pretty close to me, i'll try to investigate.

So, what is your favorite spawnpoint? Maybe it can help people start-off better? :) So, mine is just outside of Komarovo. In the warehouses near the beach I can get a hatchet quickly, for a first weapon. Then I head to balota for the airfield. I go to the 4 deer stands south first, and I can sometimes find a weapon to get going. I skip the hangars, they are a death trap. I then head to cherno, go first to the shop, after that, the church, then the firestation, and finally the roof of town hall, military tents near the hospital and cafes. This takes about an hour and a half, here's what I found by using this route: AKM with 5 mags m1911 with 8 mags ALICE pack Lots of beans and soda x3 morphine x3 painkillers Map Compass Hatchet Watch Hunting knife Box of matches

First tip with player hunting: Never get too in love with a rare gun. You will probably die quicker then a survivor. A good setup and not very rare: AKM with 4+ mags, DMR or CZ + 2 grenades + 2 smoke nades to get the zombies out of your face when you are about to fire. If you are in range (10 to 200 meters), start by throwing a grenade, wait for it to explode, then finish them, most of the time they will die by the grenade, but sometimes they will just pass out and bleed. If you are at 200+ meters, well, just snipe them.

It's broken, I can hear heartbeats through walls. Tried it with a friend, and also got killed that way, the guy said he heard my heartbeat when I was behind a wall.

Threw a grenade into the barracks and saw my murder count go up by 3.

I found lots of as50s and M4 CCO SDs (like 15 of each with tons of ammo), and coyote bags, etc in cherno once, I think the server/a player was hacking, so I did not dare take any of them. Maybe a hacker did the same thing on your server?

It would add realism, and other players could fill up their water bottles( aaawwww strike doesn't work D: ) But it isn't a necessity. I'd say sleep would be more important to implement then pissing on players you just killed.

Found my GPS and my Range finder in the same loot pile in the barracks. I was really lucky that day.
