Welcome Survivors! Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this! This is my final release of this program! I cleaned it up and released the source for it so feel free to do what you want with it. This program will be very useful for persistent servers so that you never forget what server you were playing on and lose that fancy tent! Enjoy :) This is a program that I wrote and what it does is record all the servers that you join. All you do is run the program, click start, then play DayZ. All servers that you join will be saved with the server ip, server name, and the date/time you joined. Reddit Pictures Virus Scan Download JAR Download Eclipse Project Archive Pastebin GUI.java Pastebin Check.java Version 1.3 Change Log New: Cleaned up code New: Removed requirement for browsing to your DayZ profile every time you open the program Version 1.2 Change Log New: Browse to your DayZ Profile Directory New: Browse to your Steam Directory New: Set launch parameters for DayZ (If you have parameters set for DayZ through steam those will automatically be used) Version 1.1 Change Log Fixed: First number of server ip not being saved Fixed: Double colon in time Fixed: Time and Date layout New: Works with all DayZ Profiles New: Join a selected DayZ server straight from program New: Program is now multithreaded correctly New: Add or Remove servers from list New: A server joined before will be added to the server list if it was not the last server joined Known Issue: If Steam Directory is not on C:// Drive the launch DayZ option will not work Known Issue: If DayZ Profiles are not on C:// Drive then servers will not be recorded Future Update: Custom launch parameters Future Update: Easily edit graphical settings in your DayZ Profile Future Update: Browse for Steam Directory and DayZ Profiles Future Update: Create a desktop shortcut to your favorite server Versions DayZ Server Saver 1.0 DayZ Server Saver 1.1 DayZ Server Saver 1.2 Thanks and enjoy DayZ Server Saver!

Resolving EVERY problem in Dayz easily with one small update

Brilliant. -
That was really good!

Yup, you are right. Eventually the game will be optimized for multicore cpu's so yes performance may increase greatly on AMD cpu's. Even so, the benefits of multicore support will also help Intel cpu's so at the end of the day I would say that it would be wise to invest in Intel. Either way you should be fine after DayZ is optimized. Only time will tell though! Hopefully DayZ switches over to a more gpu intensive game with the new renderer and optimizations.

I recently put together 2 builds for a couple buddies of mine. Both builds are running an AMD 6300 and a GTX 670. I found that DayZ and DayZ mod ran rather poor with around 30 fps in fields and 15-30 fps in bigger cities. Frame rate was better in the DayZ mod but only by a little. If you upgrade to a 6300 you will get an fps boost, but it might be better in the long run to buy an Intel cpu. Something like a G3258 with a 4+ ghz overclock would probably run DayZ better. There are a lot of bundle deals for the G3258 and a mobo for around $120. This also allows the option to upgrade to an i5/i7 later on. Either way you will get a nice fps boost!

In the latest patch you can spawn along the south and east coast so the player-base is pretty spread out now. The couple times that I spawned on the south coast I met people in Cherno and Elektro. I would say that the popular areas are Elektro, Cherno, and Berezino.

I think this would be a cool idea but I feel that it would only make the game more clunkier in its current state. I think that character movement/hitbox needs to be smoothed out before something like this was implemented but this would be cool to see in the future!

These are a couple companies you can rent DayZ servers from. Multiplay GameServers Vilayer

I really hope that they add more to the atmosphere! Especially large pileups of cars and roadblocks.

That last story made me laugh, but yeah I agree there are some annoying players. Not much you can do about it though.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
seannnn replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Your character loses breath when you zoom in without a weapon because in the game keybinds zooming in and holding your breath are set to the same key. I tried switching this a while ago but I found it to be quite annoying if they were not set to the same key. I am not sure about the rate of becoming winded. Could have something to do with the number of items you are holding or the temperature of your character. Zombie detection is a bit ridiculous right now but in one of the recent weekly updates the dev team said they were reworking the aggro system. They want to being back stealth like it was in the mod. -
That is all I know about the issue. I am assuming it will be fixed in the future but I doubt anytime soon unless they have a big breakthrough with server performance. No problem!
-
I believe this lag is because of server performance. In Arma 2 and 3 everything is calculated on the client. In DayZ everything is calculated on the server instead of the client. Therefore, the server has to calculate where the bullet hit and then send it back to the client creating this lag. This should be fixed in the future when the dev team spends more time on improving server performance!

Yeah, I haven't seen any in quite some time. I wonder if they are trying to make police cars as rare as helicopter crash sites.

There are a few ways to satisfy your hunger. 1) Scavenge for cans of food, fruits, or vegetables. This building almost always has food. 2) You can pick berries from this bush or this bush, or pick apples from this tree. Make sure to only eat the red berries as the blue berries are poisonous! 3) You cant hunt animals. Make sure that you have a knife, matches, and a hatchet. Hope this helps!
