I would like to extend my apologies to the above mentioned. I recently got mixed up (drunken evening) and thought the server had changed to a hacked one. This is not the case and this server is still up & running. Regular server restarts, great admins and whatever else they do ensures I play with high FPS and fun gaming. Cheers fellas

I'm really sad to see the above server has changed to a hacked one. It was one of the few servers I got really good FPS on and always worked very well. Oh well, any decent UK servers anyone?

I'm all for the Anti ALT-F4, god knows the amount of times it's happened to me. I'm just worried as it takes me 3-5 server switches when i'm starting out on a new session to find a server that gives me good fps, daylight settings, isn't lagging and De-syncing like mad and other issues. I don't want to be penalized for this and at worst get a ban.

Cheers fellas. I'm going to give them all a shot. One of the reasons I liked UK1337 was the time setting because I normally get back from work during the evening and fancy a game during daylight settings. I think it was set on UTC settings which gave me a few hours daylight playing.

Haha, it's all good. It's my own fault, I should have seen you or hidden myself better. I'm a survivor and I try and help new players as much as possible. Lately i've taken to cherno and i'm seriously enjoying killing the bandits that sit on the towers sniping all the newbies running around the town. It's pretty simple and VERY satisfying.

Well, I was the guy with the binocs out and I was no threat lol. I was doing the same as you, just observing and waiting for a clear oppertunity to go and grab some military loot. A nice one shot on me though. I will find a better spot to observe from next time :)

You shouldn't feel guilty. He snuk up on you with an axe out and probably would have chopped off your head had you not shot him. I do love how this game invokes emotions though. I was in the fire station at elektro and I heard zeds chasing a guy just outside. He was in some distress because i went out and there were three of them feasting on his screaming body. I killed the zeds and told him i'm friendly and i'm going to bandage him up. I can't quite recall but I think I only had a mak and some supplies. Just as I finish fixing him up he turns at me and puts a bullet in my skull. Just one of many bad expreiences but I still love trying to help others.

I'm happy with every update that comes. The only downside to 1.7.2 so far for me was losing my gear (which i got back after a couple hours of looting). Not being able to wear a guille suit and the desync issues. I'm confident all this will be fixed upon the next update.

Hello all, I've been playing for a little over three weeks now on & off. I really enjoy reading the forum for tips, strats and stories but lately, all I've noticed is thread upon thread of new players finding it difficult to kit up and generally getting raped. I don't claim to be a pro or anything, I only got ARMA to play this mod but did dabble with Operation Flashpoint back in the day. If I'm a new spawn, I just look at it as I've got nothing to lose. So If I spawn anywhere east or Elektro i'll head there and vice versa for cherno. Just gun in there, I sometimes enter with a train of zombies, sometimes not, but either way I'm hauling ass to get to the nearest decent building. Hit the right places hard & fast for each city. I normally go for the Churches, two or three story buildings, supermarkets & hospitals. I sometimes run into fellow survivors and bandits alike but if like me you play on 3DP servers use it to your advantage. It's pretty damm easy to run long side the supermarket in 3dp and see if anyone is in there before looting it. From entering to leaving it takes me all of about 10-20 minutes. In that time I will usually have kit something like this: Alice/Cheq Pack Enfield, AKM, winchester Mak/M11 Ammo Food Water Medical Supplies Hatchet Hunting knife Wood Pile Matches Sometimes a Map Sometimes a Compass Then it's all yours to survive. For me i'm exploring the North right now. So i'm enjoying finding camps, heli crashes and such. I'm always quite careful when leaving the city, don't want to lose all my good loot!! God knows if this might will help anyone but that's how I'm getting along right now and thoroughly enjoying it, as this is probably the greatest mod I've ever played. Another great story, hehe. I love walking in on something like that. I spawned near Balota the other day. I was pretty mad from the way I had died previously so decided to hightail it over to the airfield to see what I could find quickly. I was in the tower picking up cans and I see 4 maybe 5 fully loaded survivors about to enter from the door below. I was unarmed and knew I didn't have a chance but told them over the mic I was friendly and recently spawned and if they could spare anything, maybe some food or a pistol. One of them replied over the mic, in serious role play "Get your hands up or i'm going to kill you". Explaining again to them I was unarmed and recently spawned they proceeded to check my pack etc, finding nothing. Then he said to me "People in our group want to kill you so I suggest you leave now" I thought to myself i don't need telling twice so I turn to leave and as I'm walking out he guns me down, lol. Pretty lame but very amusing listening to them all argue over the mic while i'm lying there bleeding to death.

Had a good run last night, but I feel sad and shamed for all the lives that could have been spared. I had to go into Cherno to get some supplies. It was supposed to be a quick run in to grab what i needed and head back out. First (and last) stop was the church. I ended up murdering survivor after survivor coming in because you people will just not respond to my chat on the mic or in direct chat. Now, I know you heard me because you stopped and looked, every single one of you. You couldn't all have been bad guys? Needless to say, please get microphones. I wanted to team up with someone, or try and help a new spawn who had just found a handgun, alas. Then all 40 people on the server died when we all fell from the sky to some hacking idiot, cheers for that.

I've just started spawning in the wilderness. How do I get out or stop this from happening?

Could someone please explain in some detail how to use the Map & GPS. Having never played the ARMA series i'm pretty lost having found my first GPS unit.

I've actually done quite well in regards to finding friendlies. I was unarmed and heading to the fire station to stock up. As i got to the top of the ladder to check out the roof before I go on up I see someone up there with a shotgun. I tell him i'm friendly and he replies in kind, so I ask if I can go come up to scavenge and he agrees. We both made our way into the fire station for some more loot, while we are still chatting another unarmed survivor walks in and declares himself friendly. So now there is three of us and we decide to head out together. We played for a few hours together roaming the countryside and generally having fun. There are still plenty of survivors willing to help people out. I highly recommend using the mic if you have one to declare yourself friendly, as this has worked the majority of times for me. Just the other day was a fun one. I found a bike and decided to go for a ride, no destination in mind just a cruise. Anyhoo, I ran into a survivor being mobbed by about 30 zombies, so I pull up next to him and tell him to get on the back. He gets on and we get away from the horde together. He has broken bones and is severely dehydrated so I take him into town to get some supplies. Unfortunately we weren't quick enough and he perished but he thanked me for my help. It's these encounters that make the game so fun for me. From all the times i've been shot on site or get tricked to actually finding survivors who want to hang out, it's just brilliant. I wouldn't change a thing!

Where can i get morphine in or near polana? stuck with broken bones!
