Stable servers getting hotfix restarts right now
Esolu replied to Forrelist's topic in General Discussion
Unfortunately, it is a hotfix for the animation of opening cans. One finger was a couple of millimeters off, and it was top priority that it was fixed right away. Forget the desync hotfix they've been planning to release since yesterday... This surely isn't it. -
A hotfix will be incoming by tomorrow. It's already working on the Experimental servers. You can always opt into the beta by right clicking your DayZ in Steam, going to properties, then the 'Betas' tab, and use the dropdown menu to change it to Experimental. It will quickly update and you should be able to play hop on the Experimental servers.
-
Basically, yes. Let me break it down a bit more. When you switch to Experimental, or back to Stable, you are essentially just updating the patch version of your game that allows you to play on servers with the same patch version. So, If you try to join a stable version server while you are updated to the experimental version, you will get a 'wrong version' error. Like in any game, you have to be updated to the proper version in order to play. Also, Experimental has a separate hive from the Stable. So you can have two characters on the Stable servers, and two characters on the Experimental servers.

So incredibly true. Yet, the news always makes it to the top quite quickly. On a side note: Posted one video there and got 4 downvotes within 1 minute.

They've stated that the gun spawns will be lowered significantly when improvised and craftable weapons are introduced. Which is part of their 'Survival Combat' focus. Which is where they will turn their focus when cooking is implemented. Remember when they changed all the spawn points around? Well, Hicks stated that all the new spawn points were essentially tweaked to be as far away from any military loot spawns. With the exception of the Novy spawn, which is rare. So that fix is already in.
-
Everything is saved. Your characters will also be saved on all branches. You can essentially have four separate characters. Two for each branch. I've been switching back and forth regularly without problems. Just don't change branches with your game open. Make sure it's shutdown first. EDIT: They regularly encourage people to test the experimentals. So it's really nothing.

Right click DayZ within the Steam library. Go to: Properties Go to: 'Betas' tab Select the beta you would like to opt into dropdown list Change to 'experimental - Preview testing version' Tell your homies to do the same Play without lag/desync until the hotfix is released to stable ??? Profit.

1.) Walls and collision are currently being worked by the same outsourced team working on Hunting and animals. 2.)There is a temp fix on Reddit for FPS where you delete your profile VARS that is seemingly working. 3.)Lag/Desync hotfix was confirmed working and put on the Experimental today. They hope to put the hotfix on the Stable tomorrow. It's sad that I get more up to date news from Reddit. But they are like hungry wolves over there and any little thing gets posted right away. Only making it's way to the forums here when someone decides to post it. Also, no one reads the dev tracker here.

Good question. Backpacks and raincoats seem to keep everything dry. While pants, assault vests, and any other jacket other than a raincoat will not. EDIT: The raincoat will not keep YOU from getting wet. lol. Everything seems to be effected, but feels random. The same way being shot randomizes damage to items. Makes sense.
-
Ok, from what I saw on the experimental in the past month is this; if your clothes get soaked, some items in them can become wet. If items get soaked, the condition of the items deteriorates. Correct me if I'm wrong. Right now though, I would focus more on testing the rain than worrying about it. The depth to protect yourself from it whilst traveling will be added in time. Find out more about how rain effects your person and items in each build, and see if there is anything wrong with it. Make bug reports, suggestions, etc. I quite like the rain.
-
The depth of which you would like the game to go in order for you to not get wet(ie Pochos and other things), will be getting much deeper than that.
-
I think you're playing the wrong game then. Maybe WarZ would be more to your liking. No rain in there...
-
If you think that's bad, OP, you're probably not going to like how the rain will effect your temperature in the future. Essentially forcing you to warm up inside or by a fire, and also to dry your clothes. If you don't. you can run the chance of getting sick. I can see it now: ----------------------- You and your group decide to stay out in the rain for a bit, because one of your bros is exactly like the OP. Rather than hear him cry over the mic, you decide to just let him have his way. (There will always be one of these guys.) Next thing you know, everyone is soaked and temperatures are dropping. The group decides that drying off and warming up is a better idea. And your homie, who is exactly like the OP, cries about it. You're in an apartment now, with the boys. OP is complaining that they should be moving instead. Everyone is drying their stuff and warming up. Maybe someone is cooking some soup. When it happens... A cough from one of the group members. Someone is sick. Antibiotics are low and there isn't enough face masks to go around. We now have more problems. That when OP reveals his brilliant plan: "We must kill the sick man...", he says. ----------------------- Yep, just wait for it.

No. As I said, you can only start having an irregular heartbeat if you are passed out. Currently, you cannot randomly have a heart attack while you are conscious. It's up to your friends to diagnose you, once you pass out, by checking your pulse. I hope I reiterated that well enough.
-
You can only get a heart attack while you are unconscious currently. At which point another player must check your pulse to see if it's irregular or not. Regular heartbeat = Unconscious (Can only be treated with Epi-Pens) Irregular heartbeat = Heart Attack.(Can only be treated with Defib) Example: Your buddy passes out. You check his pulse, and from that, determine if he needs an epi-pen or defib.

Tactical Bacon, yo. It was scrumptious! Proof: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=239882508

I didn't think to check. I was nearly dying of starvation when I ran into a guy who opened it for me. I just ate it...
-
Word up, yo.
-
But the fix isn't on Experimental yet.

It isn't on the experimental servers yet. /thread
