There are definitely too many high loot spots spread around the map which makes it a lot easier to get good loot.

I remember before DayZ came out everyone complained about how crappy the mod was and thought the standalone would fix it. Now everyone's acting like the mod is the best thing ever made. Odds are you were carelessly running around axing zombies not aware of your surroundings. That's usually what happens when people get shot. Pay attention to your surroundings, always be on the lookout for other players and always assume that there might be someone near you.

I think it was the fact that you ran for 10 minutes, not the tincture. There's a bug where you violently shake because you are cold but it doesn't tell you that you are cold, you probably solved it by running back into warmth.

When you minimize DayZ anything you are doing client-side will freeze. putting the -nopause command in your launch options should fix this

Your cpu. It is the power saving version (S) It only runs at 2.80 GHZ If you want more FPS, I'd suggest upgrading the CPU. DayZ and Arma 2 use all 4 of my CPU cores evenly.

I prefer first person, but there's no reason to force anyone's view point. That's the reason hardcore and normal modes were added, so people could play what they prefer.

Are you playing at 800x600 with everything on low?

I used to have the same problem, always ended up getting killed because I got incredibly scared and began to shake.. Take deep breaths, remind yourself it's just a game. The more playtime you have and fire fights you get into, the easier it will be to control this.

This is a known bug that has happened with the Arma engine since Arma 2. Try turning off Alpha to coverage (ATOC) in your video settings. That should work but if it doesn't try turning off any form of anti aliasing. Do you mean these dots?

Your best bet would be to leave DayZ on until your character dies of hunger or cold.

DayZ standalone is more survival oriented vs epoch where its easy to gear up and the main focus is building bases and pvp
