That part made me think it wasn't really him.

Once I was infected and about to die, I searched the Berezino hospital and there were antibios on the floor. As I was about to pick them up, the server restarted. No warning.

Tips will only get you so far. The only way to truly learn is to play the game.

Breaking Point Launcher has stopped working
plexico replied to midmacm@yahoo.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
He probably thinks breaking point is stupid because of all the extra vehicles and loot, which I have to agree on. OT: This should go on breaking point forums. -
One Thing People Aren't Excited About in the Standalone

What? Have you ever played Utes? I could imagine several medium-sized bases on it. Check it out in the Arma II mission editor. -

Accidental double post sorry. -
Lolno Only WASD are really needed for movement, don't know if you're counting the sprint button or whatever.

Thanks. I know I need a mic, and I can't get one for reasons I'd rather not list here.

Jesus, make more of these. You're awesome, I'm subscribing.

I honestly hope it takes a while to be released and they make it a more enjoyable experience before they release it.

Fuck have you been looting? I find dozens. Having a canteen has never been a problem for me. It also seems that most of the problems you listed above is because of lack of appropriate knowledge for these things. I have never died from hunger or thirst, it's simple as hell to find some sodas and beans. I suggest you learn about which places on the map have good amounts of loot, where to go if you have a crappy spawn, how to get to the places with good loot, and what to do once you have enough stuff to go inland. If so many people have been successful at DayZ then obviously the problem isn't with the mod, it's with you.

Suicide in DayZ and why it's important
plexico replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In real life I wouldn't kill myself. Fuck, I'm gonna die anyway, maybe I can at least take one of them down with me. In DayZ I would especially do this, because whats the fun in shooting yourself? Forcing me to abandon game play and kill myself or else I will face a punishment is just silly. And you have to think about all the kids that will just kill themselves to piss you off. They know there gonna die, they know you want to kill them, and instead they hide themselves and kill themselves. -
I agree that the mod is not nearly as fun as it used to be. The new changes are supposed to be more realistic, but searching all of Cherno to only find empty cans and maybe if you're lucky some food/drink isn't fun at all. In a real zombie apocalypse this makes sense because those places have probably already been looted, but it's a horrible experience when you take the risk of going into a high-pvp zone because its supposed to have a bunch of loot, and you leave with nothing. When I die on a successful character, I used to just respawn and give it another go, but the new update just makes me want to play something else.

Honestly don't get how making it easier for survivors to commit suicide is a good idea at all. It's not fun to have to run 3km to get any sort of valuable loot because you spawned in Kamenka, but it would just be stupid to allow players to commit suicide and spawn somewhere better. I've noticed that most players tend to commit suicide when they spawn somewhere shitty, and it really outrages me.

Are there any official servers left?
plexico replied to shnoogy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
He means official public hive servers. Yes, I know atleast 10 that are populated every day. In fact I only ever play public hive to avoid abusive admins, as I've been banned for hacking for surviving helicopter crashes, not dying when an admin shoots at me, etc. on private hives. -
I personally feel the end-game of Origins is quite easy to obtain if you play skillfully. If you know the right places to loot you can get the supplies for a house very quickly, and if you just keep a stock of glass, scrap metal, and main rotors that you find throughout your days in a tent or something, once you find a heli it wont be too hard to repair to get to Sector B. DayZ can be boring due to lack of end-game but its not hard to find something to do, you have to be creative. It gets boring to play alone as well, things are more interesting when you have a squad.

Guns take up 10 slots in your backpack each, this glitch happens when you don't have 10 free slots in your backpack and results in your gun being destroyed. When you open your bag it should tell you at the top how many slots you have free (like 10/18). You can't store guns in a coyote patrol pack as it only has 8 slots total, but all other bags are big enough if you don't put items in them.

I'm the kid that runs up to you unarmed screaming "FRIENDLY!" and gets mowed down by an AK.
-
tbh the noob friendly servers contain more jackasses. All noob-friendly servers that i've been on consist mainly of high-voiced kids that think they are cool for driving on the coast and killing fresh spawns and snipers in cherno/elektro. you would think those servers would be better to play on but its the exact opposite, i'd suggest going to public hive servers or vanilla private hive servers.

The map is actually like twice the size of Chernarus and contains several islands you can fly out to for a temporary storage of your heli or something. Feels bigger and more complex than Chernarus to me.

What guns would you like to see in SA?
plexico replied to WBK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
During the Covenant war Spartan troopers probably dropped a lot of these off. Wouldn't mind slicing through a bandit's head with this thing -
So true.. don't know how many times this has happened to me..

I've been reading threads about bandit KOSing and people seem to say that if you try to rob a player without killing them it never ends well and you can rarely successfully rob a player. What I think is a really good idea is the ability to knock out players (without shooting them) and while they are knocked out you have full access to all their gear as if they were dead. This will bring forth new types of game play, and hopefully promote more complex banditry instead of just shooting everyone you see. How this could work is if a player is standing completely still, you can stand behind him and hit him with the butt of your gun or melee weapon. You would be able to sneak up on a player and knock him out, or stick up people and knock them out. It shouldn't be easy to just run up to people and knock them out and it should take a few seconds to complete to avoid people just running around knocking out people for shits and giggles. I think this would be an extremely cool thing for Standalone and/or the mod.

If any of you have played origins, its been made extremely easy and its focused on pvp. When I used to play I could find a DMR in a fire station every once in a while and it wouldn't be a rare thing for me to see. Not to mention the cities like Stary Vybor (which sounds like a copy of Stary Sobor) that you can find sniper rifles quite easily in. I've seen players leave with truck-loads of gear from simply loot cycling it for 10 mins. This results in everything being a shootout. The humanity system is also fucked up. You can kill on sight and still be a hero. A hero skin simply means he killed more bandits than survivors. You can choose what cities you spawn at, remember when you spawned somewhere shitty like Kamenka which meant you had to travel several kilometers just to get the loot that you would get easily if you spawned in Elektro? Not a problem in origins. There's a shitload of vehicles in Origins, it seems that every town I go to has at least one vehicle, and the bigger towns usually have several. Helicopters are not a rare sight at all. Its basicly one of those private hives with "EXTRA BARRACKS, SPAWN WITH RIFLE, 900 VEHICLES, HELI CRASHES EVERYWHERE!". The only way that someone can access your gear in your house is if they shoot you right when you open it, which can be avoided by simply making it atop a mountain or scouting the area before you go in. Otherwise your gear is completely safe, and you can store tons of it. 500 items and 10 guns, I believe. Salvation City is a city you can fly or take a boat to which is guarded by NPCs and contains end-game loot. It may sound like a challenge but its not hard at all to get there with the abundance of helicopters, and the NPCs there are retarded. Those who have played Arma II on veteran will know that NPCs can prove quite a challenge, but at Salvation they pretty much just let you shoot and take their gear. There are 3 drivable Urals that are filled to the brim with end-game, once you get there you pretty much have everything and you can just store the gear in your house and come back whenever you're low. Houses are also not hard to build, it took me about 30 mins to gather all the supplies for it. (Though I did have a friend to help me) I have played and enjoyed Origins but vanilla is better by far, as Origins is just a big-pvp festival. I have to admit that the Taviana map (without origins) is one of my favorites and if it was balanced out like Chernarus then I don't know which one would be better.
