Ideas to make Chernarus feel more Eastern European

Soda doesn't hydrate you either, it actually dehydrates you but NOBODY would like that feature. -
Are Heli crashes coming back?

I think it would be cool if there was only one per server restart, and it was only a certain chance that there would actually be one. It would have to contain a lot of loot for the trouble though. -
What upgrades should I make on my PC?
plexico replied to RaZr_EdG3's topic in Technology/Programming
The ASRock Fatal1ty z87 killer is a good one for the 4570/4670k. It is currently on sale for $124 on newegg with free shipping. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157460 It also allows for SLI/Crossfire if you ever want to get a second card. -
So here's the situation, I have a mobo that has a pci e 1.1 slot (specifically the IPISB-VR) and I want to get a 7770. I am going to upgrade the power supply to a cx430 as well. I have heard in some places that the pci e 1.1 slot will bottleneck the 7770, then I heard that it won't work at all with the 7000 series, and people seem to say that it's backwards compatible so it won't have any effect at all. I also saw a video of someone playing dirt 3 with a good 50 fps with a 7770 in a pci e 1.1 slot. I am extremely money tight and the new power supply and graphics card are already enough cost(might not even be able to buy it), so I can't buy a new motherboard aswell. I don't want to waste my money so I would like to hear it from you on the forums. Will the pcie 1.1 slot not work with the card, and if it will how much of a bottleneck will there be if at all?

What upgrades should I make on my PC?

For the gpu- Go with a gtx 660. It's about $190 and is better than the 650 ti boost. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125443 For the cpu- For about $200 you can get the i5-4570 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116896 A pretty good processor. If you can spend $240 and don't mind overclocking to get better performance, get an i5-4670k. The overclocking helps in cpu-intensive games like ArmA and DayZ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899 To know if your motherboard can support this, we need to know your motherboard. Also you probably need a new power supply if they are a similair quality as the other parts in your system. I would suggest looking into what your powersupply wattage is and knowing if it can support an upgrade like this. Hope I helped :) -
I am legitimately scared every time I log in

That thing will blow in 2-3 years.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Plexico/saved/3xFQ This should run DayZ standalone once it is optimized on pretty much max settings with 30+ FPS. If you are sure you don't want to overclock then go with it or something similair, but overclocking your CPU would probably help a lot in DayZ/Arma so I'd switch the CPU out for a 4670k for like 30 more bucks.

Perhaps riot control weapons with rubber bullets would be a better means of stunning people?
-
It would really be best if you just typed the parts. I can't be bothered to go to each individual link.
-
You have very bad RAM and a bad processor. I would suggest upgrading both. Currently everyone seems to get low FPS in cities, though. Wait for the game to be optimized.

Gaming pc upgrade suggestions

If you're gonna be playing DayZ and ArmA, you should switch your your motherboard for one that supports haswell and get yourself an i5 or i7. -
All hacks can't be fixed, but big things like spawning and teleporting can be fixed and have been in many games.
-
DayZ doesn't have mod support yet.
-
It's not very good but DayZ will be playable.

Looking for vanilla or Enhanced Vanilla

The reason the owner of US 3480 doesn't care about combat loggers is because he cannot ban a combat logger on public hive. His server will be blacklisted if he does so. -
If you're going to spend $2000, I really suggest getting an SSD. lol
-
This is to be expected with the current state of the DayZ SA. Hopefully in the future we will get much better fps.
-
It IS possible. I remember on my very old and very shitty my computer crashed whenever I started GTA :P To op: To op: If upgrading your hardware is "too much effort", don't play pc games. You're going to have to do it some time in your life if you want to pc game unless you want to buy a whole new computer. Posting your specs here might help.
-
I think you might be able to get 30 fps on lowest settings but it depends on your resolution. What is it?
-
I don't think scripted-in missions would go well with the game. DayZ is supposed to be completely about your story and choices, with no NPCs telling you to do something. If you want to go around the map and have objectives, I'd suggest playing ArmA 2 or 3 wasteland. Edit: The map will be utilized more when more big cities are put up north and to the east, so the population isn't concentrated in NWAF and the coast cities.

Tech specs. Can my computer run Day Z SA Decently?
plexico replied to Ryandaman12's topic in General Discussion
I don't think you will be able to play it very well.. maybe with an average of 20 fps on lowest settings, and dips in cities. -
You should look at Newegg's guide on how to put it together, even if you don't know anything about the parts if you follow it step by step you can put your pc together quickly. It would be best to research the basics of PCs before you try to build one.
-
I would really suggest not buying that. You would barely be able to play DayZ with that rig, and for that price you could build something that would actually run it decently on low settings. Something like THIS: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Plexico/saved/34C4 would play it decently(maybe not until it is optimized more) and with rebates it is about the same price as that rig, and in the future you can upgrade it to play on higher settings. Building a pc may look hard and discouraging but you with research you can learn the basics of building a pc in under a week, and with that pre-built rig you linked you would most likely be unsatisfied.

Bought the game after watching a few videos.

If you guys want to discuss whether Frankie hacks or not you should do it in PM, not by derailing this thread.
