Went to play on my usual Epoch server last night and noticed they had change the map to Taviana. I tried to download it with DayZ Commander but it wouldn't work, giving an unable to find error. I googled and found http://dayztaviana.com/ but this has expired. Any idea how I can download Taviana to be able to play with Epoch? Thx!

Thx. I tried form Armaholic, downloaded fine but couldn't join the server as kept saying missing content. DayZ Commander fails on the download for both the Tavi downloads, saying cannot be found. I ended up trying PlayWithSix and that downloaded everything automatically and it let me into the server OK last night. I tried again earlier today and its failing again. Sigh.

Thanks. 780 is out of my price range unfortunalty and the 760 was pushing it too but thought it might be worth it. I have just actually found a place selling the R9 270X OC Boost with BF4 included for $120 less than the 760, so for me I think that seals it on the R9 270X. I think that should still be a fairly decent card for me anyway. Also I have access to a 24" monitor so that will be better and considering I get 20fps on my MBP and dipping to 15fps in the cities, this should be a fairly decent jump I guess. Might actually be able to hit something without it stuttering :)

OK, have had enough of trying to run DayZ on my MBP, dont get me wrong it runs OK but on a 15" screen it sucks, plus ARMA3 just aint gonna cut it on this so I'm going to build myself a rig. I;m OK on all the other parts but I've been away from PC gaming for long enough that graphics cards are not what they used to be. So rough specs I'm gong for. i7-4770 (not k) 16gb DDR-1600 1TB 7200HDD (data) and 128Gb SSD (boot) Single 1080p monitor Not for graphics I'm undecided between the EVGA GTX 760 or the Sapphire Radeon R9 270X. Reviews seem to favor the 760 but not by much and the price difference in NZ is significant with the 760 costing $100-$150 more than R9 270X so I'm not sure if its worth it. I wont be doing SLI/Crossfire so will be going mATX with this, and I'm doing i7 / 16gb because I run a lot of VMs as training for my work so this helps with that. Any thoughts?

Puk because when i was growing up my nickname was Pukka, as in a British reference "who ate all the pukka pies", as i was, shall we say on the larger side. Lost pretty much all the weight when I got into pro-racing but the nickname stuck to this day :)

With the latest patch I went from playing on public hives and one private, to just a single public hive where the admin made some changes such a lowering the infection rate, increasing the gear slightly and putting more antibios in. Made is so much more enjoyable again! Its still a pain to find gear and antibios like it should be, but its nothing like the mess that vanilla DayZ is at the moment. But apart from that my other reason as the spawn snipers that were becoming all too common.

So the thing which has been peeing me off so much recently is the lack of antibiotics and high infection rate. So tonight I'm starting as a new spawn in balota. First thing I find is an M4A3 CCO(!!!!!!) and then the next thing is a M9SD (!!!)! At this point I'm starting to pee myself with excitement, never found this grade of weapons before so am well excited! Anyway,I'm next to Cherno, 3 players on the server so I risk it to get some more kit, run into the supermarket get an Alice Pack, Map, Matches, Compass!!! Think stuff this I'm getting out of dodge now so start heading for the hills, get agrooed so run into a red residential and OMG there are antibios!!! I pick them up and just start heading for the hills when........ I start hearing music in my headset?? Er what..... I look around and a bandit comes round the corner and starts dancing, no word of a lie! I start to empty my M4A3 CCO into him but nothing so quickly realize its my first hacker. Then yup, I cant move, then I dance, then I die. FFS!!!!!!! :(

Agreed, thanks Anti. Nothing against the Devs at all as we wouldn't have this mod at all without them, but something is fundamentally wrong with this version that what Anti is suggesting is a good idea so thanks for that and have my beans.

Actually guys I'm going to take a break from DayZ for now. Its just too dam buggy for me to actully enjoy it at the minute. Tonight was just looting a house in Staroye when a Z came in, no biggy went to headshot.....nothing. Couple more shots, nothing. He gets one punch, infected (FFS!). I end up emptying 2 full makarov clips into him and nothing!!!! So that was that. Respawn, running from the coast and snipped! Respawn right next to a f-ing Zed, 1 punch and infected. Screw this, there is a fine line between fun and dam frustrating. Will leave it alone now and wait for standalone.

Thanks Phuftbucket. Its a private hive one actually, as I tried lots of the public Orcon ones and kept seeing hackers all the time so have been private every since. Ah well. Will take take a look at the Balotabuddies one thanks :) Thanks RougeNZ - Will drop you a PM as I tend to play around 8-9pm weekdays too. Losing interest in the game at the current patch tbh though. Just had a quick run around now, found myself and M9SD and M14AIIM and a map, then got glitch bunched through a wall by a zed and an infection on the first hit ffs. So ran to the hills to wait to die and got sniped on the way. :(

Im going off the mod too tbh. Been playing it 3 months now, really enjoyed it to start with but since the latest patch its not fun and I finally realized tonight I need to call it quits for a bit. Spawned in Elec, found nothing but ammo, no guns, no hatchet, no matches, but a hunting knife. Broke into then hospital, empty cans, nothing else ffs! Ran north heading towards Bez checking everything I could on the way, nada. Got as far as Staryoe and was about to loot a barn when a Zed punched me through the wall, 1 punch, infection and broken leg FFS! Oh well, time to play something else I think. There is a big diff between challenging which this game was before, to down right frustrating now.

I'm the same and am actually going to take a break from DayZ for a bit now. The loot spawn camping zeds is taking the piss when you are a new spawn, added to the total shoot on site regardless mentality now is ruining it for me. The last 2 days I must have had 10 new spawn attempts, each time I cannot find jack all but every loot point has zeds which agro and 9/10 i get punched to the floor first time and before I'm up I'm infected. I've tried going into cities but get shot on site when unarmed, tried going into the rural but no f-ing loot. And apart from all this, the times I have found anything, I nearly always end up getting infected on the 1st or 2nd zed punch so thats it, no chance of finding antibos so its a death sentance. To me its taken the fun out of it tbh. And the last straw for me was just on a new spawn, run into elec where I spawn, find a map, m14, m9, gillie, alicepack and then I glitch thru the firestation wall and fall to my death. Dammit. :(

I have put 40hrs into DayZ since buying it a couple of months ago and never saw a single vehicle. Then last night I found a dirt bike in Zelono, drove it into the woods to hide it and came across a lada fully repaired! I crashed the car about 2mins later though LOL :)

I had a problem where last night joined in an my character had lost all its ammo and bandages. Found 2 other players who said the same thing. Don't know if its a bug or not.

Seems to be a lot more player interaction now. Just ran into a friendly bandit in Cherno while I was in a ghillie and he didnt kill me. I offered him a spare AKM round I found but clicked drop on my Alice pack by mistake, in the middle of a room and it vanished??! Erm, what?

I'm totally unsure, its certainly taken out some of the fun of it for me. Last night I was on my usual server, 45 players and for the first hour I couldn't find anything. I kept spawning in Cherno/Elec/Prig and finding loot was nigh on impossible. I did notice a lot more player interaction and less shoot on site, mainly because no one had anything which sucked. Eventually I found a Winchester and M1911 and some ammo, then died when I got cornered. I gave up for then, came back an hour later on a new spawn and found my body in the middle of a road in Cherno still with its kit! How often does that happen! Pain points for me though, Zombies spawning in the doorways of every loot building so you cant go in without luring them out. Pain. Loot is none existant. Sure its realistic, but for a game its just not fun anymore. Knockdowns - Fix this, way to frequent. Agro range - Fix this. One one spawn I crawl up from the beach going about 20ft, look over a feield and there are 3 Zeds argoing towards me from about 100m away! WTF?!

I like and dont like at the same time. Have only been playing DayZ for a month now and like the fact the Zs are harder, but they knock me ove a good 50% of the time which sucks. Also, on the server I usually play on there seemed to be tonnes of them around, way more than usual? Also the lack of loot is a pain. After dying I spawned in Electro and there were 5 of us running round unable to find anything apart from tin case or soda. I eventually found a crowbar and broke into the hospital as 3 of us had infections. All that was in there was 1 epi pen and 3 empty tin cans! Also, have had it crash on me twice tonight which is has never done before. Both times I spawn back in and my character is still there with a duplicate kit. Seemed to be happening to a few people. Oh and where are all the backpacks now?

Huh. That explains why I can't get on any servers tonight too.

Hey, Have been seeing DayZ vids on YouTube for a while now and although the SA is coming out in a few months if its not delayed, I finally couldn't wait any longer to give it a try so I picked up Arma2:CO from Steam last night and got DayZ running. Only cost the same as 2 cinema tickets here so if I get more than 4hrs playtime its paid itself for me :) Anyway, my first spawn said "Wilderness". Couldn't see anything left or right but there was a huge hill in front so I ran to the top and in every direction all I could see was trees and hills. Bummer. Went back to the coast and walked for 20mins before jumping of a bridge till I died. Second spawn was Otmel island. Spawned next to 3 zombies so was dead in about 2 mins. Third spawn was better. Was just outside the city near Belota. Ran in and the first item I found was a Gillie Suit :) The found a bunch of chemlights and a hatchet. Needed blood so headed out to the woods to get some wood and hopefully some food when I spot a player running of to my right. I go prone and ask if he is friendly, he says he is. Ask if wants to trade as I need matches and he says he has some and offers me them and a gun for my gillie and chemlights. I dont need the gillie so say yeah and he basically then holds me up :) Tells me to drop everything and disconnect and come back, so with no choice and just interested in what happens I did this and came back and allI had left on the floor was my hatchet. LOL, no gun or matches. Ah well. Ran around a bit more and didn;t find anything and then took shelter in a barn and quit for the night. Enjoying it so far. Glad I got it and didn't wait. Need to find a server with more players though. Andy

Well its been just under a month since I brought Arma2 OA and started playing DayZ. Cost me around NZ$30 and I noticed on Steam last night I have put in 31hrs so far, so for me that means its was a great purchase. Have had a blast with DayZ so far, and even though i still suck at it, its been fun all the same.

Hey, Only started playing DayZ this week, loving it! But I'm getting a bit confused with the backpack and how it handles weapons. Currently the first weapon I tend to find is the Hatchet which I'm preferring because when I find a gun I suck with it! Anyway, say I have the hatchet as my primary and then spot a Lee Enfield. I pick it up and boom my hatchet is gone? I thought it would be on the floor but no its gone. is that a bug? I realize now I need to move it back to my toolbelt first but wonder why if it gets dropped it doesn't let me pick it up. Real problem when picking up a gun with no ammo and then no hatchet. Next question, say I have a Lee Enfield as my primary and I run out of ammo. If I want to switch to my Hatchet I thought I could put the gun in the backpack, but when I do this, it always vanishes. Am I doing something wrong here?

Ah that makes sense then as yeah I'm on the original pack. Thx. Need to just get into my head to always put the hatchet on the toolbet first and if I run out of ammo with an early pack, just say screw it and drop the gun and bring out the hatchet. Thanks man!

I'll come and hold you up if you want. Was having fun with the crossbow last night, we'll use that :) Cool thanks. No I'm just straight through Steam and searching that way. I tried filtering by Snap! but it couldn't find it, but then again when I filter for Orcon it couldn't even find the server I was just playing on LOL. Will try and get on tonight if I can.
