    Dayz Crashing computer

Ok, you are probably getting a BSOD but the reboot is happening so fast you are not seeing it. To verify this we need to disabel automatic restart on system failure. Click the start menu, Right-click on Computer, and select Properties. If this is Vista or above, click on Advanced System Settings in the menu on the left. Under Startup and Recovery, there is a Settings button, click that. Under System Failure, uncheck the Automatically Restart. Hit OK and apply to all windows. Get him to play and see if it stops on a BSOD when the system fails.

When you say crashes, do you get a BSOD or does the system turn off like it lost power? What exactly happens?
  3. This one by Asus is probably the cheapest I could find on Newegg thought I wish they had a larger selection of i5's as they tend to be cheaper: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220251 I'm an Intel/Nvidia guy so if you go that route I'd recommend that you look at Asus, Lenovo, or Origin PC (the guy who runs this company started alienware.) That is, if you want a pre-built system. If you want someone to custom build you a PC, check around and price some local PC shops. I run one in my area and they can start off around $750+ for a decent i5 setup.

    Cascade of failures

Since I've found a few people who are also having this issue, here is how to disable the service: Hold the Windows key + R to open the Run prompt and type services.msc Find the Program Compatibility Assistant service and double click. Double click it to open the property windows. Stop the service and then set it to Disabled. Hit apply and you should be good. What will happen when this service is set this way? Programs that will need to be ran as Administrator or in some compatibility mode will not do so on their own sometimes. It may cause some issues that you will have to address on an individual basis. This is only a band-aid as this needs to be corrected by BattlEye. UPDATE: I just submitted a ticket with BattlEye. After I made this post, I tested a theory that it was BattlEye and not DayZ or Arma 2 / OA. I connected to servers that were not BE enabled, and no disconnect issue. But any server running BE anti-cheat causes this service to fail. Hopefully they can address the issue and create a resolution as I would prefer to have this service enabled.
  5. Possible Solution. I was having the same problem, looked at every angle until I was 100% sure it was the game or battleye.

    Low fps but good Hardware?

I don't know if anyone has suggested it, but have you set any launch parameters? Here is what I have set for DayZ Commander and for Steam: -cpuCount=3 -nosplash -nopause -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=1024 -exThreads=7 Be sure and change the values depending on your system configuration. After I set this, I got about 15-20 fps increase.

Internet cuts out when I close arma 2

Holy shit, I thought I was the only one. Check out this thread I JUST posted with a possible solution. Check your system Application and Event logs and compair with my notes. If the same service(s) are crashing, disable the PCA service for a temporary fix. I think it's due to BattlEye v1.200 as it is the only item that has updated.
