i think finding single cans of soda around is a bit weird. maybe find cases of soda. takes more room in inventory but you get 12 "charges" it wouldbe intresting to come across a giant supply of something. give you something to do. like a deleviery truck full of a single supply.

help from another player? load it all in manually. (take time, and be exposed) like in a real scenario. loading the entire crate in a car just wouldn't be a option. go to a grocery store you are gonna have a almost endless amount of supplies cant take it all.

Most important rule of Dayz. - Don't trust anyone unless they have candy. -
I think buildings with rooms especially hospitals and residential should be nearly pitch black. And not just at night. In the current mod i feel like its to light inside. Who make chemlights have a better purpose. A barn should be dark even in daylight.

More antiquated yet effective weapons.

Historically accurate or not. If its a great gun put it in. -
In a barn or a room with no windows it should be basically pitch black. You should NOT be able to loot or have a clue what inside the room unless you have a light in there. For instance. in the current mod the back of the grocery store is completely lit. the schools are completely lit. Barns and industrial houses are completely lit. Basically every building in day time is completely lit. I would like to see a change. I would like it to be almost a requirement to have chemlights, road flares, or a flash light to go about looting a building. unless it has a window then you have some sort of vision. In current mod i think every thing is to light and not enough darkness. This might be a ARMA2 thing but in the SA i would love to see some kinda improvement.

Well i think we should half useless garbage around. like empty bottles and what not.
-
I believe it should. I don't know how i made such a mistake. If a admin could move it that would be sweet.

When you mark things on your map a player can pick it up and see it. Your marked up map would be valuable information. Maybe even set up a ambush? Example scenario would be Kill someone, and loot his body. Find his map and he marked where a broken car was or his camp. edit I also had in mind is a GPS system. you can attach a GPS to stuff like vehicles or tents. And this of course is info you will only have in your characters life. A map will consist of things you mark and GPS cords.

A server with a thousand people on it. just think about it for ffs. Cherno would be GTA 5 multiplayer. You definitely got your information wrong. If a thousand people buy a game it doesn't mean that all thousand are going to be on the same server at the same time.

Maybe if and when any official lore is added it could explain why we have certain items in Chernarus.
-
Something along the lines of destroying map. Don't drop a map with all your precious cords marked! People would make their own little codes. and get creative. For instance i wouldn't mark exact location of something i would have every thing exactly 500 meters North of the location i was trying to map. Having that mystery would be kinda cool to. Someone has something marked who knows what they found or have there. could be a trap!

I like the idea of sending someone on a hunt for sasquatch or actually coming up on some ones camp they had marked. Banditry could get a lot more interesting .

Yes, a great PVE server has PVP.
-
a nice pve server you say? PVP = key to Dayz greatness
-
I'm positive this had been discussed to death. Difficulty levels. But what i have in mind is not necessarily difficulty levels but "game modes". Normal/arcade*= more supplies, more UI, Less hunger and thirst, more vehicles, Hardcore/realism*= well just basically the opposite of that ^. I feel like this well help combat the KOS PVP issue. As in people in realism/hardcore mode will be the type to engage in RP. It will also make the game more appealing to casuals or people that just don't have the time to play for hours on end. *Examples of names to call the different modes

New player here, and wondering
methr1k2dop3 replied to timmyoseaton's topic in New Player Discussion
Arma 2 is a great title to have in general! I suggest getting your ass to Steam Summer Sale! I thought i saw it for like 5 bucks. Of course to get Dayz you need Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead. <-- (DLC) If you have any problems PM me. Just go up to search bar in Steam and type in Dayz it will bring up the content you need to run it. Just remember Dayz is just a mod to ARMA 2. Dayz will be its own separate game here soon. -
I agree with this. But losing your hearing altogether would imo be lame..
-
Donor gear is just fancy for pay to win. I avoid these servers at all costs.
-
no. I just think stuff like this does not belong in video games period. There are just some aspects of realism that cant be captured in a game.
-
Yes of course... I think official servers be realism and hives have a option to make easy mode. but of course always still keeping the basics of what Dayz is about. Survival game.
-
Really this idea was spun off of Rising Sun. Realism mode being a lot more tactical and difficult. With the casual mode still having realism in it but a lot more action oriented.
