this would pop my patch cherry. anything special i need to know about patches? do i have to manually update/download anything? or does trusty ole' Steam take of everything?

shooting is a big part in this game. its what brought all these wonderful people together on this thread. making it difficult to use high caliber rifles would not be in the best interest for the game. like i said earlier i personally think adding a different kind of variable to using sniper rifles would be more efficient. than just making it hell to use them.

that looks awesome. but i'm not a military sniper so a very in depth tutorial would be nice if they implemented something like that.

Well any shooter played on a PC is a matter of of pointing your mouse. Making it incredibly realistic and difficult would kill sniping in the game. If anything add some other variable to shooting high caliber rifles. Such as scarce ammunition or even after the first shot you slowly get more in-accurate. i think sometimes our imaginations start to run wild and we all forget were actually sitting in our home playing a video game. and there just some aspects of reality that just can't be captured in a game.

Well if they did using a rifle would be damn near impossible to use and that would just be lame. a video game can only do so much right now.

and you must be talking about Call of Duty. I think sniping in ARMA/Dayz is awesome and they should keep it where its at.

you can say this about every single aspect of gaming. Sniper rifles are real things. First time i picked up SKS i was pretty successful hitting targets 200-250 yards away, with absolutely no training. Just a drunk uncle taking me out to go shooting here and there. Sniping and getting picked off from the unknown is a huge part of dayz. gotta learn to scan the area and stay low. You probably run into cherno or ele like a chicken with its head cut off and wonder why you look like swiss cheese.

but see here is the thing. Sniper rifles are not made up imaginary things your parents tell you like Santa Claus and Jesus. they exist like cancer and Aids. and they do kill people in shot.

i've played too much COD to have respect for the younger crowd. there are insanely way to many 13 year olds that claimed to have had sex with my mother.

yep. Basic training in arma 2 is great to learn how to fly choppers. there really rare so you kinda wanna know what your doing! Youtube is a great resource to learn how to use basic controls on how to use your tent and repairing vehicles. Good luck!

i just don't see any realism in padlocking a tent. could i make a tent in the middle of cherno and as long as i slap a lock on it it wont be messed with?

its tent man... a child could tear it open. maybe a large safe or something of that madder. one of the best things Dayz is how precious loot can be and how easy it is to lose it.
