I have never valued a 9mm Makarov round :rolleyes: Absolutely love it. I find myself trying to survive rather than stocking up on military weapons to kill Bandits.

i patch up with Dayz Commander and use steam to navigate from server to server.. i don't know why i do this i just do. i think i have trust issues with Dayz Commander. but to answer your question yes. i hopped on last night without any problems via steam to a 1.7.7 server.

Weapons on Dead Island seem pretty cool. Baseball bat with nails in it always is cool. rakes and other gardening tools. Golf club and a super rare find.... drum roll...... a ninja sword. off topic -in order for melee weapons to be enjoyable to use IMO, close quarter combat needs to be more responsive and put together.

i think there are plenty of things they could do to fix the KOS issue. well at least help it.

i logged out when i saw a bunch of "clan bases" off the coast of ele.... imo that ruins the game. Vanilla servers are awesome. Incredibly rewarding when you get a car going or pick up a nice gun.

i crouch run. zed aggro seems to not be as intense. also i walk and catch my breathe before i encounter a city.

you are just having terrible luck! if you want vehicles try joining a server that has extras.

if anyone has played World of Warcraft i think there logout system is good. take 30 secs for your character to disappear from the game. it will kill the whole combat logging thing. i hope they have some sorta system like this. sucks if your CPU freezes or your network craps out you will be exposed. but i think it will be worth it. **edit: Sitting down would be the animation for people trying to log out, having a Exit Now button would close Dayz but your character would remain in game for duration.

Great ideas. i'm however not a fan of base building. i think it's unrealistic to build a base by your self. maybe different kinds of things that you could add to your camp.

would love to see media around before infection. maybe get in a car and have a radio station broadcasting emergency signals. Newspaper with headlines about the infection in other parts of the world thought the M1 Grand was American? would love to walk into a house and 3/10 of the loot i find be useful. will add a apocalyptic feel IMO.

i see all these empty whiskey bottles... maybes those things walking around aren't zombies there just drunk. Maybe find full bottles of whiskey and get drunk? blurry vision and hiccuping would be a comic relief in apocalyptic cherno. or maybe you and a couple of friends set up a camp fire and drink a little bit and share stories in down time. make em rare. so its like a luxury to have alcohol and be drunk! couldn't really find any other threads about it! stay thirsty my friends!

using Dayz commander. got to 39% then internet went out. every time i retry my entire network goes out. its been about a hour and my internet runs fine. the second it starts downloading my internet goes out..... friggin weird. established that hitting "install" brings down my entire network. (netflix craps out, other cpu's off same wifi go out) **edit: I hit cancel when it was bringing up servers. so its not updating and searching for servers at the same time. seems to be working.... at 80 %. hope this will help people with similar problem. i feel like i have the power to crash someone's internet. lol **edit: update was successful. although with Dayz commander in background internet went out why i was trying to join a server. **edit: On Dayz Commander, went to settings, Commander options, put slider to 3 in "Max connections" hope this helps people out. 1.7.7. seems great so far.

might be interesting if you could get a potentially fatal sickness and have to find a specific medicine.

well it seemed like a problem with 1.7.7...... as in i couldn't download update. messing around with Dayz commander fixed it.. helpful link tho ty.

are you using Dayz commander? Have you tried re installing? ( might be a drag, but usually fixes problems like these) good luck!
