You should just rush to the airstrip at Balota immediately after you spawn, you can find a good weapon there and then start looking for other items. Sure it might be dangerous but avoiding zombies is pretty hard on this version and there's no point on hiding if you don't have any good items anyway so just rush there and either find a weapon and live or die trying and respawn. That's what i do any way until zombie hearing is fixed in the next patch (50% reduction through objects) i don't see any reason to sneak since they can hear you through buildings perfectly but you can't see them until they are already coming after you. -

It's pretty inaccurate and calculating the range on it is pain in the ass. So i'd rather just see the range on regular servers so i actually have a chance to hit moving targets -

Veteran=No CH or 3P(except on some servers) which makes for much more realistic experience and are usually the servers i play on. Regular=Allows you to see players name on your aim even through walls, tells you the range and allows you to switch to 3P which i dislike. Only time i play on regular servers is when i have CZ550 because that weapon is completely useless on veteran servers. -
Cross-server inventory and location preservation is a mistake.

Yes good idea but having character on one server instead across all of the servers would create more problems than it would solve. There just has to be improvements to prevent server-hopping and ability to quit to avoid death. So what can be done? Well if you want to talk about MMO's then i guess we should look at the MMO king World Of Warcraft that has it right, ya you can hate on WoW but it's the most successful MMO for a reason. So WoW has this combat mode that prevents you from logging out when in combat, i don't know exactly how you would implement this on DayZ but something like this is pretty much the only way to avoid nerds abusing the current server mechanic. Maybe make it so that you can only log out in a middle of the forest or something? Sure this would piss some people off and there would be some rage on the forums but soon people would get used to it and it would be normal for them. I really can't come up with any other mechanic to prevent it, log out timer alone doesn't work people can still abuse it, there has to be something a little more extreme. -
Tell me one reason why wouldn't i instantly shoot a stranger coming towards me whose intentions i don't know and i know that if he wants to kill me and i won't shoot him first i'm dead. So can you please enlighten me and tell me why in the love of god would i trust a random internet person? I'm shooting everyone on sight usually and there's a reason for it. Unless there's going to be a game mechanic that makes it more rewarding to play in a group then there's no point on risking your gear.

None of those items are easy to find, anyone saying otherwise is simply talking bs. I have never found GPS or NVG or binoculars and i have only once found a map. I have played the game for about 30 hours.

no Side chat = Community Growth will be damaged

I would like it if there would be some servers with side chat and some server without it. I like side chat even though it removes the immersion for some people. It doesn't remove my immersion in any way. For me having it enabled means: A) Most of the time if i move inland i cant see any survivors so at least side chat lets me know there's other people too in the server and i'm not just playing the game alone B) i can communicate with other people through it, if i wouldn't be able to do this i would just shoot everyone on sight because i don't know their intentions, of course people can lie on side chat but it's still better than nothing. C) Not everyone has a mic, a friend that plays DayZ or fluent English speaking skills so communicating with side chat for me at least is my only way to communicate with other players. So why not just have servers WITH side chat and then servers WITHOUT it? -
The unarmed start is not a good idea for now because zombies have ridiculous hearing abilities and they may see through walls (at least sometimes it feels like it) so sneaking at the moment is very hard but if that is fixed then starting without a gun is fine. [NEW] Infected bodies will despawn after 5 minutes of their death (improves performance) I also dislike this change, i never had any performance problems with the game to begin with and i liked to be able to see if there has been a survivor recently in an area i go through, it added to the atmosphere and made you be more careful but now that's gone since 5 minutes is not enough. Also is it just me or is M1911 way too common? From my experiences it's more common than makarov which is stupid since 1911 is the best handgun in the game with one hit kills so shouldn't it be a little more rare?

[FIXED]Hunger and Thirst no longer continue to drop while you are offline (only ingame time counts) Thank god. I've already lost two characters because i forgot i didn't have food/water when i logged off and then came back next day to see myself dying of blood loss.

Yes, overall i like it although i have some issues with zombies now. Zombies are way harder now they can see you from very far away, they still spawn near me and they do still see through walls even though those were supposed to be fixed. Also increasing their attack range and damage probably wasn't a good idea when they are very hard to hit outside because of their unpredictable movement (zig-zag). So avoiding hit is very hard if you try to fight couple of them outside.

If you don't want to do blood transfusion which is very dangerous with a stranger you can just kill some animals you find in the woods and then cook their meat which gives you 800 blood each, cows for example give 8 pieces of meat which is 6400 blood. Is anybody else pissed off by the blood loss effects? I mean if i have less than 10k blood i basically have to play the game with shitty color detail and the game looks like shit compared to 10k+ blood. I mean sure have some kind of effect when you are low on blood but why reduce color quality? That's like some game decreasing graphic quality every time you lose HP i mean wtf...
