I hope that the hit detection, animations and such will be fixed so that you may take a clean shot at them. Right now all they do is zig zag around until they get close and immediately shift to attack you unavoidably. Then you bleed. Then you're revealed. Then you die. Not to mention how much health they have for a god damn zombie. 10 shots of a G17? Really? Headshots are you're only option. Which makes it hard considering how glitchy their animations are and how bad the aiming and gun mechanics in Arma are.

My only concern would be the controls. Arma has so many f*cking controls it makes your head spin

After waiting on the server list for about 5 minutes the server list finally updates with the origins servers and they work fine. Epoch is having trouble right now. Any known fixes?

I downloaded Taviana and Epoch. How do I play Epoch on Taviana? I searched for servers that had both and there were plenty. Every time I try to join either of them it launches the game, goes to the lobby and closes to the main menu. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know where to start. I've been having problems with day z for months. For one simple problem. It won't work. I've exhausted every possible solution I can think of. So back in march, I got Day Z via Steam. Saw you needed Arma 2 and Arma AO to play it. So I bought them. Worked fine for months. Then suddenly, a couple months ago it just decided to stop working. Every time I joined a server I would get a weird error message, and then the game would load for eternity and never get into a server. I then downloaded Day Z commander. I see a server. I'm like "ok I can just join servers from here". It then launches Arma 2 and directs me to a server list. Says some odd error message in bottom left corner then boots me to the main menu and I'm left thinking wtf to do now. Oh boy. Where do I start? So then I go to mods and it says my Day Z is corrupted. I repair it. Now only 4 servers show up on the server list. No filters. I went to post a thread and got many people trying to help me but the "solutions" made it worse. I've tried reinstalling, verifying, manual installation, wiped every trace of Day Z and Arma 2 clean, reinstalled got more error messages, one after another and I'm just effin sick of it. If anybody has anything useful to say as a solution be my guest. I have not one fucking clue what to do. I'm stuck in a concrete hole and I can't get out,

Found the problem! And tell this to anyone that has this same problem in the future. Under settings in Day Z Commander check the box that says "Refresh all servers automatically on startup".

Being the idiot I am I can't figure out how to join a server from Day Z Commander. What happens is when I double click on a server it launches Operation Arrowhead, starts to load the lobby screen then exits to the main menu. No idea what to do from here. Please help.

Another update. I tried joining one of the 5 servers that show up on day z commander and it worked! It was a Origins server so the mod works. Basically all I have to do is solve the issue where servers are not showing up for me on Day Z Commander. If I can fix this I can play the game just fine.

I can't back up the system trust me. Had a massive virus attack a couple months ago and had to backup a few weeks. But also had to delete some backups as well. To update this, I tried joining a DayZ vanilla server after having deleted literally every single possible file associated with arma or day z, I was able to join. At least 1 server. Haven't tried any others yet. DayZ Commander is completely screwed for me I have not a clue what is going on with that. I tried installing a few mods such as Origins, launched Day Z from steam and tried to join a Origins server and got a odd error message. Well now I tried launching just the mod itself from steam I tried to join a regular ass server and I get a error message, it tried to join the game then tells to disconnect and try again.

A little more detail would be nice.... How the hell am I supposed to do all of this? How in flippin nuts am I supposed to save the file into that folder?

That only solves one of the laundry list of issues I have. Wrong CD Key seems to be a very small error since I'm back where I started and it continues with the error anyways

Ok, WTF. Literally. I don't know what the hell is going on. Friggin every time I try something new, other bullshit happens. I tried your steps, now I'm getting "Wrong CD key" error and even though all my versions are up to date it's only showing 5 servers all Origin servers that are compatible. Try to join them, and they send me to the main menu. Seriously WTF is going on.

I have not a single clue as to what is going on honestly. I launched AO manually and clicked the boxes of the mods I have for it. Now it directs me to day z. Problem? Can't join any server. Keeps popping up with an error message saying to delete certain files. Something about a "Acceptable key". No clue what's going on. Pretty sure part of the problem was installing everything from Steam in the first place. Ugh. I'm guessing eventually I'll have to wipe everything related to arma and start over.

I have the mod, but I want to access other maps. I hear you can do from Day Z Commander. How and where can I download it? I'm quite lost. :|

So I have Day Z Commander, and being the idiot I am I don't really know how to join servers. I've clicked on a few and then they launched the game, but it took me to Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. Can someone please explain the process of downloading this and how to from those links? Because last time I tried this, I went to that same download and it was a fraud. Downloaded a bunch of ad programs and things I didnt need as well as didnt include Day Z commander. Might have even been a virus in there. If someone could explain the process that'd be nice.

I am sick and tired of fking sniper rifles. I'm sorry, but they are way OP. It only takes 1 or 2 shots from any long ranged weapon to kill. Not even that. At close range they are even worse. They're so accurate you shouldnt even try to engage someone that has one. It takes about a whole clip of stanag to drop someone anyways. They can just turn around and fire like a mad man with semi shots and knock you out in 1 hit. Bs. Please nerf them or make them extremely rare. about 80% of my deaths are from DMRs. I've even seen people fall victims to campers that park a decievingly operating vehicle outside of a city and wait till someone gets in just to pop them through the window is incredibly broken.

The game in no way needs to be realistic. The game will NEVER be realistic. No game will. And with the accruacy I'm not talking just aiming down yout sights im talking just hip firing in general (yes I just used the term hip firing so get the hell over it). It's a spray and pray game that is won by the sniper rifle. And when say it takes a whole clip of stanag your leaving out the mass ammount of inacurate shots not due to the player's aim but to the gun itself. Even then it will take quite a few rounds if you get teh shots off. Then take a look at the DMR. Almost no spread.And don't you talk crap about comparing something invalid to COD. Nerfing in cod? What are you smoking? It wouldn't surprise me if your one of the people that ravage barraks looking for anything that slightly resembles a DMR. Then sit at the nearest airfield on top of a firestation.

I was playing Day Z last night but when I tabbed out of the game the sound stopped working. I've tried relogging, restarting the game, restarting the computer, resetting my headsets, and everything works except Day Z. It's just dead silence. Any fixes?
