That's a good point...

Well considering Marshall was plastered drunk and we took on a squad of 8, I'm pretty happy with how it played out. 2 fresh spawns and one geared player against 8 highly armed players in a fortified position? Oh pray tell me how we could been more tactical!

My M4 mysteriously went from worn to damaged. Was unable to hit a player at 75 meters moments before and assumed I was just too drunk to aim. Question: does anyone have any input or knowledge on how much damaged weaponry affects weapon accuracy?

Me and a buddy do the friendly dance when we see each other on campus all the time. And we do get weird looks...

Nah. I won't report them. I'd rather have them on a server I can't join. Plus I have no video evidence so the server hosting company won't step in.

North-West airfield dying? Who misses the NE airfeild?

Go to NWAF on persistence off servers right after they restart. You'll find your players. -
I'll bet money on that

Another thread detailed into a weapon authenticity vs reality argument... Nice

And become surrounded by zombies and made an even easier target. Or you bleed, and have to stop to bandage after killing the zombies. All the while the stealthy guy calmly watches and waits for his moment to strike. These high profile pitched battles in empty cities won't be the norm forever. I suspect engagements will be much quicker in the future as zombies more and more will be crashing the party,

It's probably there to keep our fast running speed from turning us into unreal tournament warriors. The guys that sprint are hard to hit but can't aim. The slow moving guys are easy to hit but can actually aim. Seems like a fair trade off to me. With more dangerous zombies in larger numbers, sprinting won't be as viable as a combat strategy as it is now. Just take it slow and the in game sway will work to your advantage.

Would also be nice if we could periodically clean a pristine weapon and it would remain pristine. I know IRL I clean my rifles and shotguns everytime I take them out to the range. That's why they stay nice. I don't wait until they start wearing out to do some maintenance. Thankfully we're in alpha and this will all change :)

How does the loot spawn actually work with persistence?
Dagwood replied to IgnobleBasterd's topic in General Discussion
It restarts because the server becomes bogged down the longer it is up. Servers will always restart. I suggest you don't dig into this topic of item spawning too deeply. The game feels more organic when you are ignorant of these sort of things. Plus, the mechanic will continue to change through development, and you'll have to get a feel for it all over again. -
When it can mount a scope, it will be worth while. Until then, it's an underpowered POS. Nuff said

It's clearly a brothel. Whores work the first two floors, and the pimp has his office on the top floor. I mean, think about it. Why else would I consistently find charcoal tabs and antibiotics? It's a prostitutes first aid kit! Plus the assorted weaponry on the top floor is a must for any Eastern European pump.

Just had a run-in in elektro with a group of 3 players. The assault player I was covering was killed by an MP5 while I was covering him from a nearby (3-400 meters) hillside after we had killed the first two players (M4 with acog and bipod is god). I moved in to kill the last survivor and secure the area. While dealing with a zombie, he opened up on me with his MP5. My screen flashed and I saw gray. My heart skipped, then sank. I weaved around a nearby building and ran for it. He lost my trail and I got away. After hunkering down in a small bush, I discovered that only my press vest had been damaged. All of the items within were unscathed. What..? A submachine gun that is quite labor intensive to aquire and supply can't even ruin a common, worn press vest? Does anyone that has used the MP5 in combat have anything redeeming to say about it's performance? If the recoil is minimal, I think it might be worthwhile, but the disappointing damage is an immediate turnoff for me.

Have you ever run into the only other guy on the server?
Dagwood replied to IgnobleBasterd's topic in General Discussion
Happened once. Was playing with my gear in a bush as I logged in. Only other player ran right into the building in front of me. Bizarre -
I think 10 times the zombies we have now, in their current form, would still be a step in the right direction. Yes, they bug through walls and such. So adapt to that. Fight them outside. Never stop moving. If you do that, you can fight 3 at a time no problem.

to the guy i killed at Bolota ATC with 5 pelican cases full of ammo and grenades:
Dagwood replied to anarky321's topic in General Discussion
Hold on... Did the protector cases have 4 grenades an a flash in one box, 5 60 round mags assorted in 2 boxes, morphine and epi in one box, and loose ammo in the other? I killed a guy with the same kit the other day and I'm rolling as a bad kid duper now. So much firepower. M4 with bipod and acog is god -
I just prefer the ak74u for filling the same back up role. Ya there are no optics for it, but I feel like I'm using an assault rifle when I fire it instead of an automatic pistol. Does anyone know how the ballistics of the 5.45 compare to the 9mm in game? Damage? Gews?

Wow that was savage. You know they were all screaming hacker when they died to 3 silent shots like that haha.

Peeing and pooing would be worth implementing if various diseases or ailments would cause you to shit more often. Like if your character contracted dysentery, you would have periodic Diariah and be at risk of becoming dehydrated. But if we have pooping just because it's "realistic", it would be a poor addition to the game.

New zombie AI will intensify player interaction. Bumping into a player in novo and opening fire with your Mosin will probably result in both players dying or being considerably setback. I think backstabbing will become a more attractive means of acquiring gear from other players. I also think server hopping military installations will become much more difficult and less profitable. Think how cool it would be for new players to be rescued by geared "heroes" when they are being overrun by a swarm of zombies like in the video. Much more compelling than these hero types handing out readily available supplies because there is not much else to provide as aid. Think about how suspenseful it will be to witness a survivor fighting off the undead as you debate whether to get involved. Do you risk your own life against the undead? Do you take the chance that this survivor in need might turn on you as soon as things quiet down? The distinction between the various roles we fall into as players will become more defined. Suggesting that players will stop interacting with one another is naive. A gamer with an AKM is still more dangerous than a dozen zombie AI. Because this is (mostly) true, player interaction will remain the focal point, with environmental threats in the form of zombies, infection, malnutrition, etc. as the filler between player encounters. And hopefully, these environmental threats will enrich player interaction.

You CAN combine the various pieces into one map and one hot bar slot. Idk who told you otherwise, but they were wrong. I only use the in-game map because it is usable while on the move and it feels more immersive than an out of game map with colored dots all over it.
