Known issue. Game crashes after you've recently logged out. Annoying. Hopefully resolved in .46 -
Ammo Calibration : Poll & Discussion
Dagwood replied to stielhandgranate's topic in General Discussion
Everything you're saying makes too much sense to me. How do the developers not see that too much commonality between what our guns eat will turn every survivor we see into a walking ammo source. "Man, the devs sure made ammo rare this patch, better shoot every armed player I see so I can keep this M4 stocked" If ammo is more diverse, grabbing 5 stacks of various ammunition will no longer leave you prepared to chamber every weapon in the game, increasing the value and potential scarcity of ammunition. Dean claims that the core player base is all he cares about, but his actions prove otherwise. wtf happened to the anti-game, rocket? You've already made $60 million in revenue in 2 quarters; fuck drawing in new players and fuck making the experience enjoyable for everyone who picks the game up. They use this, "the majority wants X so stop asking for Y" PR tactic that completely undermines rockets's supposed goals and priorities for this project. Disillusioning to say the least. -
Had a drawn out 3 v 2 firefight at the versenik military base late last night. They had 2 scoped mosins and we had 2 M4s and an AKM with 2 (yes two) drum mags. They took the high ground on the hill over looking the base and killed one of our rifleman repelling our attempts to overtake them. Longstory short the AKM guy survived two Mosin shots and I survived another and took out the enemy in an AKM-covered-charge-for-glory. Upon logging out I felt like I had been kicked in the balls. An hour later, after a swig of tequila, a cigarette and a bowl, I still felt like death. Has anyone else ever experienced this? This is not the first time it has happened either. Other particularly intense dayz mod sessions have brought on this deflated feeling. After last night I think my girlfriend lost some respect for me...

[POLL] Which would you rather have more of?
Dagwood replied to Loopest's topic in General Discussion
Pretty restrictive options for the last two questions. I want more zombies and I think the map is a good size. -
Zub castle. Good over-watch positions and easily defendable.
-
Zub castle. Have your buddy in the low place across from the keep door. Meet the guy on the first floor near the door. Boom. Perfect place
-
Dayz mod* people, dayz mod* Hats off to those guys for taking the game to a different level.

M4 leads to more compelling gameplay. Less ammo equates to needing to be more accurate
-
Server hopping is where you find it apparently.
-
M4 with RIS handguard and MP buttstock all day. If you take the time to deploy a bipod it will drive nails. If you don't have time? Fire off a few bursts and eventually you'll hit em in the head. On hardcore servers you can't beat the suppression of the M4.
-
Why? What's the worst that could happen if the devs made the game unfair or too hard at this stage in development? Some people put the game down for awhile? Some people wait until the game is more complete and in-turn more expensive? Your avatar gets overrun by zombies a few times and you die? I would rather have a game that is hard with a few unfair gameplay mechanics than one that is boring with a bunch of laughably easy gameplay mechanics.

With the removal of military buildings from NEAF the west side will be popping, don't you worry
-
What kind of buildings around novo do you speak of? I hope we also see an increase in the maximum number of players per server if they want more movement around the map. 40 players across hundreds of kilometers is not enough. Totally excited about a civilian airport at NEAF all the same.
-
By providing 3pp on and 3pp off hardcore servers, you will be segmenting the community even further. That's bad. cranking up the difficulty of hardcore servers will draw more players to them. That's the future I hope hardcore gets. A core community of real survivalists. Where the bandits have to learn to survive before they worry about killing one another.
-
You found a loose stack of 60 5.56 rounds?
-
I think the amount of server hopping going on as a result of the AKM's implementation is a testament to the fact that we have way too many servers up currently, or that the public hive needs to be regionalized.
-
60 round stacks were removed? I still have one...
-
I found a full 40 round magazine at a heli crash site. Also found a full 30 round cmag in a camo building. Looks like they're still spawning outside of helicrash sites, but fewer than before. Good thing I grabbed an ammo box to start hoarding 5.56 rounds in
-
Can confirm this. Seems to be a bug when looking in certain directions or up certain inclines. Just spit balling
-
Advertising it on steam for all of the peasants to see....
-
Touché. But are the negative side affects to gameplay worth protecting the rare IRL needs that super cede the desire for quality gameplay?
-
If your wife/gf seriously injured herself and needed a ride to the hospital, I would hope that your dayz character would be the last thing on your mind. Most shooters don't reward you for leaving a game halfway through, why should dayz?
-
I play hardcore so the stand offs are, IMO, probably more hectic and sphincter clenching. In 3pp, how are you supposed to breach if the guy can have his gun raised around the corner, and the only thing he has to do to kill you is tap Q and left click quickly? How could you push up on someone that can clearly aim at you while fully suppressed? I don't mean to drag this discussion down into another 1pp>3pp argument, but I feel like pushing and breaching as a whole is dramatically affected by the inclusion or exclusion of 3pp from the equation. Anyone else agree?

If you have a real world interruption, you should get yourself out of that town before you log out. The game should not allow players to cheat (combat log) just so everyone else has the convenience of being able to log out safely every time they want to smoke a cigarette or take a shit. Dying once or twice to poorly planned logouts would be more than worth it to me if it kept people from just disappearing from the game without a trace. I've had so many ambushes never come to fruition because the guy that I'm stalking never leaves his building. He's just disappeared and there was no way for me to know. Probably the most frustrating part of the game currently.
