the game is not unplayable at all. just alt f4 when you see a hacker -
all you need to do is be friendly in game. you will get killed a few times but you will also meet some nice people. solo in dayz is pretty fun if you are friendly not so much if you are shooting on sight

pretty nice guides. you my good sir can have my beans -
maybe you are not giving it enough time. sometimes the game will take over 20 minutes to load. so just leave it a while and if it still wont load then try reinstalling dayz and arma. thats how i fixed my issue

yeah hacking has been bad recently. all you gotta do is not join servers with a ton of people 35 or below and you should be fine

not having a gun at the start is pretty fun tbh. maybe starting with a crowbar would be better atleast then you could defend yourself
