    I think the ability to strip and rebuild weapons would have to be something all players would have to learn in order to keep a combat capable weapon, and maybe making some of the "weapon mods" a little more applicable. For instance: Guns without rails, not exactly a whole bunch you can do in terms off attachments or addons, but what about more durable internals or a sling kit so when you shoulder your weapon your hands are free to hold something else. And for the love of god, duct tape + 2 ak mags = faster reload.
