I have played dayz for a few months and have realised the majority of my deaths have been caused by not replying to typed direct chat. I can type direct chat which is seen normally by people in the nearby radius but I cannot receive direct chat! I don't no why this occurs but I have tried several servers and have had the same problem. I don't want to go through reinstalling because I don't think that will help much, any similar problems please send me a solution please as my dayz experience is being ruined by this! I dont

I still have an annoying problem of me not being able to receive direct communication - typed/speech. This is very stressful as I only know a few guys that have the issue. A lot of people have mentioned having to have the exact same version as other players,I have already tried this and it still doesn't work I really need to find a fix as it is an important aspect of the game. Thanks guys! Please.help me

I can send (typed) direct chat which can be received by others, but I cannot receive any sort of direct chat - typed or voice! All side chat works but nor direct. I will look in the audio options for the option you talked about but I don't know if that will effect text (typed) direct chat
