    Dayz Standalone - Time Period Difficulties

    DemonGroover is right, I was suggesting NOT that the game use a timer, but that the diffculty levels reflect a time zone!

Maybe its due to the recent release of Metro: Last Light, but I've started thinking that it would be awsome if there was a time themed difficulty system in dayz standalone! easy difficulty = One week after the infection: all cars work perfectly, loads of supplies and ammo, no npc bandits, many heli's and loads of military check points. 25% less zombies Normal difficulty = 6 months after the first infection: vehicle have problems, ammo and supplies moderatly rare, npc bandits, slight military presence, few buildings destroyed. 10% less zombies Hard difficulty = 20 years after first infection: NO vehicles(have to find all the parts), ammo and supples extremely hard to find, many buildings destroyed, bandits, all gas pumps destoyed, no hospital loot, no air vehicles, military weapons extremely rare, no military, 0% less zombies I think it'd be cool, probably not something others think is cool, but I think its cool.
  3. yeah I was thinking the same thing, I want to decrease the number of vehicals to 50, or 80. that way people who own them will chairish them. I'm sort of new to the dayz communtity, but i think by "leet kit" you mean gear right? we've gone to great lengths to make players appreciate what they have (The starting loadout is one bandage).
  4. So me and my friend run a Hardcore roleplaying survival server and we want to add ALOT more challange. The problem right now is that people arn't taking the game as seriously as we want them to, running around in the middle of town and shooting off there gun for fun and such, I don't have a problem with fun, but sometimes people break the immersion that the server is supposed to have. SO, I was thinking that more difficulty would force people to be more tactical. So is there a way to: 1.spawn more zombies? we currently (I think) have 300 zombies spawning at any one time, we want to bump it up to 1200. 2. Have bloodsucker mutants from namaslak on the chernerus map? 3. spawn bandit npc's in apcs, tanks, and attack choppers, Ect. Ect. 4. Make all weapons in the game less accurate 5. Make zombies kill in one hit. There, Players will have to be reeeeeally tactical to survive this apocolyses! Our server is pretty private, so if a salution invloves messing with the games files thats ok, we can send all our players download links to the altered files.
