The gear menu has never worked "well" in arma - it fucking sucks, period or have people never tried going to a weapons crate and looked though the hundreds of items available because arma simply cannot handle the task of attachments? Fortunately it looks like Arma 3 has finally caught up with the world as it was 5 years ago.

The engine is awful and flawed and old. Arma is still a great game but it would be better if the inventory system was upgraded, the movement became more fluid, not getting stuck in doors like a retard and no dumb animations to pull out weapons I don't have on me.

With 3 people on the server, on some random spot on the map I see a player running towards me, and he see's me. We stop at 100m from each other and salute then carry on our seperate ways. We're driving cross country, come over a hill and down the other side take fire and end up dying. 5 people on the server. (No hacks on this one, we run the server now) I'm dying of hunger - every animal that teased me with their presence when I was hungry has now vanished. Wait! I see a boar...I walk towards it and fuck you very much for vanishing into thin air asshole pig! I also swear Dayz "knows" what u want. Don't want a fucking car tyre? Here have a shit ton of them till you actually want one? Need a compass - no fucking way. Find a compass - compass galore!!! When u want something it's never there.When u have it it's frikkin everywhere! lol ;)

That doesn't include Private Hive servers since they don't access the Hive d/base. we run our own server and never play on the public since they fucked the whole game with the last patch and tbh, if the new patch fixes things we'll stay private so we don't have to put up with hackers.

The fix to the hacking issue is not simple but it can be done. Make all server's passworded. Require anyone wishing to play email the admins of that server for a password. Have decent admins that will check server logs for scripts ran. For any scripts ran by players, send them to BE who should then globally ban them. In the meantime, ban them from ur server Server admins back up the d/base every 30 mins or less - anyone hacks and it's easy to restore the d/base to a previous state. Of course this needs the DAYZ team to allow this functionality for server admins. I don't give a shit about the player if the server log shows him using any scripts - that should be banable off the bat then they can work it out with the dayz/BE team after that,

Like I just posted above, you're post I agree with. And as for low numbers, that's only because you need to advertise. We've had around 50 or 60 responses on ours though the admining of this is a PITA to be honest with you and which is why we don't have a full server right now but we will do and the other great thing is, you can have a different character for every private hive u join and still keep ur public character and if ur going to cheat, great go ahead - see how long you last and hear how hard we laugh at you as we kick you from the box.

Actually you can ban the fuck out of who you like on your server IF you become a private hive. We have our server that was public, now private. You can't join unless we get ur email and ur ingame name. We monitor for any scripts and you need to email for a password (Of which we've had a lot of responses and much praise by the people who play on it). The server is backed up every 20 minutes and we can still send evidence of cheaters to battleye to get them globally banned (all scripts ran get logged by guid). The other nice thing about the private hive is that it works. Tents and vehicles save but it's still buggy, but at least we can make camps and drive around. People can actually work towards something without having it ruined on a server restart. The biggest problem we're facing so far is farming gear - wowee - compared to all the shit going on the public servers, this is nothing and easily dealt with. Change to a private hive, get people to email in and send them the PW - works great and people who don't cheat kinda like the idea of being in a relatively secure server knowing that if their shit gets fucked up, it can be restored and they lost 20 minutes.

Why do u guys even bother playing on public servers that a) have hackers and b ) don't fucking work right anyway. At least private hives save vehicles and tents and have admins as well.

What server are you on and what's ur ingame name so when u die I can see "Luckyr Died" or whatever it is :)

You can add map markers from the map screen before the game starts - as in the server restarts and u click ok, it takes u to the briefing screen were u need to click ok again to join the server. At this map you can write and it will show on the map in game. As most comms are disabled, once in game nobody should see ur map markers unless they meet the following; Direct Chat - they have to be in range for them to show up Vehicle Chat - they have to be in the vehicle Group - they must be in ur group (which u can't do right now though would be helpful)

We've had more responses and good feedback so far - anyone else want in please Email us. We've even left some fixed up vehicles around the map for you guys cos we're nice like that :)
