It's Take On Helicopters but why bother with the extra resources for the flight model? How many choppers are in the game (and arguably do we even need them?) so why use the extra fidelity. Don't get me wrong I love flying but dayz isn't a flight sim and doesn't need a complex flight model - perhaps those resources could be better spent elsewhere?

I never said Dayz would be open and far from even mentioned it would be the holy grail either - however that doesn't mean new community made maps can't be added either and those days have not come and gone as Arma is an example of a thriving community with mods being made all the time for it. I was pointing out to the person bitching that the game is just like any other great game and pointing out the longevity of games these days compared to games 10 years ago and how the games companies have taken away our ability to add free content to games and taken to DLC's that you have to pay for.

As a Private hive server admin I can say that any instant of anything hacked would get you banned from our server. It's not that I wouldn't believe your story but I personally won't take the risk. There's plenty of servers out there, just move on and find another one. From an admin point of view, we cannot take the risk of hackers, even if they are innocent. Would you let somebody stay on your server ricking the enjoyment of the rest of your community? It sucks but that's the way it is and luckily there's a ton of servers out there to play on so nothings really lost :)

You just use one of the back ups. It's a SQL database right? So all u do is use one of the earlier ones and yes it means everyone gets affected so it's a call that has to be made on the spot and how many people are going to loose out. Backup every 20 minutes and that usually means nobody is going to miss anything too much but as I said, depends on what happened and also, you can ask ur players by sidechat if anyone's going to be adversely affected.

Hey let's just pull random thoughts out of my ass and post them on a forum! I see plenty of people still playing this "shitty game". What you're experiencing is a drop in players because a) your skillz suck and b ) you obviously won't survive the zombie apocalypse when it comes and c ) your skillz suck. Try engaging your brain when u post then perhaps you wouldn't look like a complete dumbass. Why would we bitch? How many people have ever bitched when a game died. Is BF2 a shitty game because it died out? Raven shield was a complete POS because obviously nobody very few people play it anymore. Of course DayZ will die out at some point. Did you know that Ubisoft's policy for making games is to make them last 60 days before your done with it? Ever wonder why games used to last so long before and now they don't? CODMW when it came out lasted ages on the PC because of the maps the community made (yeah they stopped that - nice one assholes. Now the community can't make shit for these things THAT YOU USED TO GET FOR FREE) Don't even ask how long Ghost recon or Raven Shield lasted. Perhaps you should get your adhd sorted out that you think you have and get some knowledge about being a gamer and realise Arma is one of the few games out there that actually has a community and has people making mods for it rather than being a bunch of money grabbing cunts and stopping all mods so they can charge for "DLC" - oh u mean that shit that people used to do for free that was often a fuck load better than the shit they shovel out? Gaming today has been fucked by assholes like Ubi and Activision - be fortunate you were even able to play a game like DayZ and it's about time more companies followed BIS's route and support the community that supports them.

You don't have to fix things but you can test things. If you see a problem test it and test it. Try different things and see if you can out what's going on or get as much info you can and post it up on the forums :)

I have never ever seen anyone use BW as a defensive tool. It won't keep away zombies - in fact it shouldn't keep away anything, I could walk through that shit ok but it should slow me down (and maybe injure me) and that's it. It's not an impenetrable wall.

I'm one of those sensible people. I lost all my gear a few days ago for no reason - i just spawned on the coast. Lost my gps, nvg's, range finger, m24, l85 thermal, m14, coyote pack, my can of mountain d... :huh: :wacko: :blink: >:( >:( >:( So I kicked the fuck out of my PC and after I was done I went out raping grannies and dropping children off tall buildings. Imagine my surprise when I got home and washed the blood from my hands that silly me, I had only gone and logged on to a private hive by mistake and still had all my gear. I was so relieved! I could have done something really bad.

I've never been spawn killed - how does this happen? Also, considering the distances you have to travel and someone actually camping a particular spawn (what a fucking colossal waste of time btw - hey what did u do all weekend - well i sat watching my pc screen for most of it and roughly every hour I'd click my mouse button - ummm...hmmm ok errr) 2-3 minutes doesn't make any sense. you could run for 3 minutes and be running into a camper.
