I think I'd enjoy it for a bit, but eventually get tired of getting shafted by having a bad character. I like your idea in some respects and have thought of it myself, but Dean has always stressed player choice and player developed stories and skills rather than a choice made for you. So it probably won't make it into the game, but good idea.

Yeah I've heard this idea tossed around and thought about it a lot. I like it very much too. I have also found that the characters that I've had in the mod before I feel more attached to when they had a rocky start.

At what point did I say I was talking about the 360? I was talking about the next gen consoles, and no the next gen consoles are like a low end PC. Sure they have good ram and a decent processor but their graphics card is nothing to write home about. So to make the game playable the console dayz would be dumbed down. Also i am not a pc elitist I said that I would stick to my PC not that one was better. Plus i agreed with you in that dayz is coming to consoles. Why are your panties in such a knot?

Yeah it's gonna happen probably with in the next 3 years. However, like others have said it will be very dumbed down, especially if it is given to another company to develop. The map will probably be cut down, less controls, and in general different. It may not even be the dayz we know now, it could just be some nock off zombie game with a few of the original features and mechanics, but called Dayz. I don't care though I'm staying PC.

there is no such thing as a seamless stitch; both in putting maps together or sewing. How ever no it isn't possible to add maps into chenarus. I saw on another thread here a guy who was talking about the map borders and said that there is no way to expand past the map borders, this is into the debug btw. So no there is no way to do it unfortunately.

arma 3 vehicles are "durable" because its all bugged....like the fact you can drive a hunter with no wheels, or the pickups go from like 20kph to like 100kph with no warning and are close toImpossible to stop...

[SA] Gun lubrication to prevent jams

I want a full cleaning kit for weapons in SA. A gun cleaning kit would be a similar object to a tool box but more rare. Also I like the one guys post about pieces of the weapon being discoverable objects such as a barrel for long range or shorter ranges. However that seems like a lot of work for rocket and his team... -

Why are half of you trying to prove and debunk "facts" about zombies? The fact that we play a zombie apocalypse game proves that we are ok to stray from reality. Personally I think it would be awesome to manage the meat you bring into a town for fear of zed attraction. Also to use it as a distraction is a really cool idea; it would act like smoke grenades now.

[DayZ SA] Car Locking, Keys, and Alarms - Realistic Vehicles

I like this idea. Although it should be more difficult without a key to the vehicle. Maybe something like you need a crowbar to break into the vehicle and than to hot wire it after you need a toolbox. However, hot wiring has a chance to damage the vehicle to a point were it isn't drivable. Maybe also in SA, like Dean has suggested, there will be a very basic leveling/skill building process. So something like if you hot wire "x" amount of vehicles successfully your chance at daging vehicles through hot wiring decreases by some percentage. Just my 2 cents. -
"Realistic" Fishing in the Standalone

I'd love there to be fishing, but if it does make it in it won't be as elaborate as the OP suggests. My thinking is that you will go find a fishing pole, and bait. Than go to a pond or the ocean and you would have a percentage chance to catch something. Any fish that you might catch are worth some blood amount or healing properties depending on the health system on the health system in SA. Maybe there could even be special ways of storing/preserving your catch like smoking it or canning it. It needs to be simple though that is the key. -
Why are there people here that are being all noob friendly? I was noob once and yeah it was frustrating, but I learned, and quick. Dayz isn't about hand holding at all. Plus all the controls you need are in the control menu, and if you can't spend the time to go into it and read through the controls than you have no business playing. Dayz, like people have said here and else where, is about dropping you in a world where the odds are against you and telling you "survive." And that's the way I like it.

So are you an Xbox player or PC? How much have you played dayz? If ever. It seems to Me that you have no clue what server architecture is or what it has to do with dayz. Also you don't seem to understand how game engines work. Now, I am no expert, and have no clue how engines work, but I think it is more difficult than cutting and pasting dayz into it as you suggest. Also all I have heard about defiance is that it is utter shit with crazy bugs and frequent crashes. Finally do you think that it is so easy as to walk into games studios and say "we want you artists" or "your engine" to make our game? No! They are going to tell you to gtfo. All around you seem very ignorant to how developing games works, and to how dayz is being developed. My advice? Speak when you are informed on the subject, or just shut up. -

I prefer to start with nothing just for the challenge. Plus it is just to easy to gear up in the game. And yes I know that it isn't realistic to spawn with nothing in a zombie apocalypse, but still since its a game based on survival I want it as hard as possible to survive. -
I don't know. I like the idea a lot, but you can't just slap some death animations in the game and hope to get emotional deaths from players. The way I see it working is if your life is a constant struggle for survival, and the progression from spawning in to getting fully geared is a slow and arduous one. There has to be some way to grow exptremily attached to your character through the trials/experiences you had with him/she. Without building up that connection to your character a dramatic death like you suggesting will just be a minor annoyance before hitting "respawn" rather than a heart felt and sad moment....just my 2 cents...

[SA] - Ammunition Types & Alternate Ammo

see I think the non lethal ammo should be pretty common. Maybe that's not realistic but I think, for me, it would be more fun to knock out/stun a player take their shit and leave; rather than killing them. -
The only problem I see are trolls leveling while forests and fences just for the hell of it. But other than that I like it especially cutting fences.

What if you took the attachment idea further with actually finding rail systems for ARs that you can actually put attachments on, but you could also tape them on. Also I think it would be cool to see complete gun mods added. So like long "sniper barrels" or full auto trigger assemblies. Things that really change the gun to personalize it.
