  1. The thing is unless you have psychological issues you can't get desperate in a game. It's a game. There isn't even a reason to get desperate. One can easily do all the stuff presented in this game alone. This whole fully realistic survivng and immersion thing is actually a utopia. When you play a game no matter how hard or realistic it is it's still just a virtual thing a game. Nothing happens if your char dies. The worse that could happen you loose your gear most of which you can recover in just 20-30 minutes. Also the 'surviving' element itself is not enough as a game task. Actually most of the players don't give a f*ck about surviving. Like it or not most of the people playing this game especially those thousands of new players see it as an FPS. A bigger version of Battlefield or something with just a little difference. There are of course a small percentage of people who played this mod 'before it was cool' and those who think they understand some deeper meaning of the game and how all of those thousands players who expect FPS experience from dayz ' just don't get it' but... Who gives a sh*t. The only question here is what do devs want to achieve. What do they want. If the answer is money. Then majority will win. And majority consists of FPS players who want to have fun not forever alone nerds who want to have super authentic forever alone in the dark experience eating beans in the bushes 24\7. The only thing that chat removal brought is boredom and being unable to team up and communicate with others anymore. I'm 100% sure they will get it back mark my words. Because now the game is boring as sh!t. Dayz is not a single player game. If it wasn't for teamplay AND pvp if it was a single player it would be a very stupid and boring game in it's todays condition. But with global chat removal they made it feel 90% single player. Last few days with all my friends playing diablo I'm left alone in Dayz. And this is so f*cking boring. As a player who achieved almost everything there is in this game there is no fun for me in playing this game alone. And with global chat removed I can't team up anymore. Noone can. Don't f*cking tell me direct chat promotes communication. Noone uses it. Now everyone shoots everyone quietly. Just think. Even when global chat was there it wasn't easy to team up for a player who has no clan or ingame friends. For example if it is 50 players server there were at best 5-7 players who wanted to team up. All in different locations. Even then you had to spend time to gather all them at one place. Now it's impossible. How big are the chances that you stumble upon someone who wants to team up now? How big are the chances that you'll be able to explain him that you are friendly before he shoots you in the face from that 80m distance? And why shouldn't he shoot you anyway? Is there any reason? Is there something crucial that you can offer to him? How big are the chances he's not some socially awkward penguin who just doesn't want to use voice? Yea... tl/dr Chat removal is bull. It ruined teamplay for people who doesn't have clan or ingame friends. The game feels empty and boring. I have a huge butthurt.
