True, but living in the woods can be done if one is smart about doing it.

Yesterday I crawled all the way from Polana to Berezino for Morphine. Took a good hour or so, but it was worth it and I have a couple extra Morphine just in case. As for living in the Woods, you don't need Matches to do so, just be near enough to a small town(s) to Loot. You'll find enough Food to survive and eventually will get matches and other necessary loot to be fully independent. Be sure to locate yourself in an area with a few Deerstands nearby. You still need a supply of Ammo and other consumables.

I think the title is backwards. DayZ shows the strengths of the PC as a gaming platform, quite regularly something new comes out and changes everything. It' almost always starts on the PC.

I have made the Primary weapon switch successfully and unsuccessfully, but I don't recall whether I did it differently each time. I have transferred a lot of things from main Inventory to Backpack and back again by first opening a Loot pile, but don't know if that's the way I switched Primary Weapons.

Annoying indeed. Yesterday my Character I started with 1.7 finally died, so I got a chance to start out with the new loadout. Died twice so far, certainly much harder to get going now, but the most annoying thing has been the amount of key Loot spots that have been barbed wired off along the beach. Got into a major Farm loot at Prigorodky, was crawling between buildings avoiding the small Barn as it had 4ish Z inside. The first entrance into a long barn was wired off, decided to proceed to other end, but along the way I aggro'ed a Z and had to proceed to sprint inside 1 of the 2 long barns. There were 2 doorways nearby...both wired off, another entrance a good distance away...wired off. My only option was the small barn, so I rush in there, up the stairs with a half dozen Zs joining the party and 1 Z already up there which I took a hit from and started bleeding. Took next stairs to the top, found a Winchester with no Ammo and a bandage to replace the 1 I used. Died trying to escape barn by jumping off the stairs halfway down and broke my legs, making me a fine meal for the Zs. Respawn, made my way to the Firestation in Electro...tower is wired off, no Looting for me. Blarg.

Lamest Death - 15 minutes ago. In a Barn, halfway up the stairs, and aggro'd Z runs up to door, but doesn't enter barn, swings, I'm dead. I had >11k Blood and was in perfect condition otherwise. Said WTF repeatedly and came here. :@ 15-20 hours spent on this Character, 450 Z Kills, 0 Murders, 0 Bandit kills, 4 potential FF avoided, and 1 Super Z with super long arms ends it all. Funniest situation death - Enter Stary Sobor and someone posts a random message about a Z outbreak there. I wasn't really aware what town it was at the time, so I go in, enter the Store then I hear for my first time the sound of a diesel engine, then the sound of a horde of Zs. I go into the back room and just cower hoping nobody finds me. A dozen or so Zs start streaming through the far back door and I'm just sitting watching them come towards me trying to be as invisible as possible to both them and those who parked right out front of the Store. All I had was my Makarhov and 5 or 6 mags. Fortunately for me, the Zs just walked on by towards the front. Unfortunately for me, another survivor runs into the back room with me, he may have said something in Chat, but I was loling too much to notice. After staring at each other for 10 seconds, he pops me in the head.

Agreed on all points. Would certainly deal with the worst DC behaviours.

Thread is not about Realism, it's about an attempt to justify one's choice of Gameplay.

They're not great, but not too bad either. There are advantages to using them, especially when a zombie horde is pressing in. You just have to make sure the dot is fairly centered and not floating all over the place, the accuracy is pretty good when it's holding steady and you're at close range.

OP needs to grow up, Ban again, repeat as necessary.

If someone did this to me, I'd just DC and not feel guilty about it at all. If a Bandit is just going to kill someone for no reason, do it and get it over with. This dicking around(second story I have read like this)is just BS and doesn't deserve respect from the victim.

The Video card is the weakest link, but the CPU makes me wonder too. I'm not too aware of the specific needs for the Arma 2 engine, but IIRC 4 Cores is better than 2 with it, I am just unsure how much a difference it would make though. As for Video Card, Radeon 6770 or Nvidia 550 are likely the Minimum you are wanting. Both are around $130-140CDN/US. One issue with that system regarding Upgrades is the Power Supply is likely close to maxxed as it is. Before upgrading this you first need to ensure it is a Standard ATX size and has Standard power connectors to the Motherboard. It probably is standard these days, but you never know for sure when buying a Pre-Made system like this. As for what Power Supply to upgrade to? That's going to depend on the CPU/Video Card you choose, but regardless of that choice a good quality 500Watt Power Supply should be fine whatever you upgrade. 80+ Certification is a good indicator of quality, but as for Brands, Seasonic is a solid choice, Corsair, XFX, are also solid(both of their Power Supplies are made by Seasonic as well).

If they don't know u r there, Good. Keep it that way and you'll have less trouble.
