Haha good idea, but I have to ask the same question - what beast PC do you have? Im running on SLI 680 and i7-3930K but I would never be able to run 4 copies... (then again im running it on a 120hz monitor...) -

From my view, and this is coming from someone with 400+ hours of DayZ, I have to admit that I think that rockets way of doing things, PR wise, for DayZ SA is wrong. I think that if he keeps postponing the "dead-line" for the SA alpha release, it will damage the amount of players that will buy the game and especially the trust that the community has in rocket and his dev team. I dont want to be the one saying this but from the very few devblogs Ive seen, I have not seen the awesome improvements promised to begin with. Obviously its still in pre-alpha, but so far all Ive seen is that you can put a motorcycle helmet on. I think that rocket should dedicate more time to listen to the community and actually show us that something is in fact being done. Sure, Ive heard the line "Its done when its done", but when you say it thay way and then say "yeh the alpha will be out soon" and even "the alpha will be out in june/july", you have to think about how demotivated the playerbase gets. Hell, I truely love the mod and when I hears there was gonna be a sa, I was stoked. But all this jibberjabber and barely giving the public a slight taste now and thwn has made me loose interest. I'll buy the game but that is only because Ive spent so much time at the mod, but I really understand the other half of not so dedicated players that will just go "meh, this is all a load of horseshit." and then not buy the game. You can keep saying "it'll be good with 1000" players but I highly doubt that. A good playercount is essential if you wish for this to turn into something bigger than WarZ. I understand that they wish to make a good game, but they should show more and keep the playerbase interested and stop giving hints of when alpha is out if they cant keep that deadline. Inb4 hate posts as the internet is a place you dont post your opinion: "if u dont like u can leave". -

Definitely ^. The intensity of knowing that you'll know that you'll loose all your hard-worked for gear if you were to die. Constantly looking over your shoulder and when you do spot someone you go into this "live or die" state. The adrenaline that I get when running across an open field and suddenly a bullet lands by your feet. This is something I have yet to experience in another game and cant wait to do agai in SA. Also playing with friends doing all that ^ -
Definitely a good upgrade.

@mZLY - try running around for a full day, fully geared up with multiple weapons and a backpack ++ - then come back and tell us how it went. It is the exact same principle, no-one has the stamina like the DayZ characters. Maybe making it so that running also requires stamina to a realistic extent, like whilst swimming

Highly doubt that it will even be out in June. Just the fact that the past videoblog showed that there was barely anything to be really excited about sort of gives us a clue of what will happen. Rocket will keep on pushing the release date and we will probably have it in late august/september (alpha that is). By then a lot of ppl wouldve lost interest for the game due to it being pushed back all the time. I will still buy it though ^^ -

There hasnt exactly been a list, but rocket and his team has been giving hints of when it might be out. I would dig up sources but given the fact that Im laying in bed, miles away from any computer, simply on my phone - that wont happen. -

Agreed. The mod at the moment seem to be miles off from what they have been saying about it. If rocket wants a game that is as complex as in his mind, we will have to brace ourselves for a long waiting period. It just seems to be a barely working game atm. -

No offence, but this continous pushing of the release date is starting to get me frustrated. Fine, they should release a finishes game, but they shouldve never mentioned any "release-date" in the first place. Lets face reality here boys and girls, once we reach June, there wont be an alpha, simply another "oh yeh sorry but its done when its done". I reckon the alpha will first be out in late august/september. -
Thank god that the animations are redone. Those are probably the things that annoys me the most in this game atm.

Question: Will the animations be the same as they are in the current version of DayZ? What I mean is, will the animations be just as annoying and incredibly stupid as they are now. Eg. is the retarded way where you keep going for your weapon after being uncouncious, the climbing animation, the jumping animation and such. Also: Will doors be just as dangerous in the SA as now?

Good to hear some news, been awefully quiet. Anyhow, I do have to say that I am displeased regards to the release JUST because I'm joining up the army in like 2 weeks so I won't get to try it ! :( So instead of chilling behind a computer at home with DayZ SA, I'll have my head foot-deep in dirt along the Norwegian/Russian border.. FML On the other hand, it's only good that it takes time to get a release. Proper games, without that many bugs and what-not, will require time. Keep up the awesome work and thank you to the whole of Rocket's team and everyone involved! -

There are already servers (Obviously private HIVE) that has this implemented. I don't know exact server names, but they will give you the option to gut, cook and eat human meat. This does have an affect on your humanity of course. Regards, pEar. -
DayZ, or well Arma II's engine is poorly optimized. The only thing you really can do in order to increase your FPS there would be to either turn down your visability (As it will load for 1700m which really isnt needed. I'd turn that down to... 800-1000m if I were you. Otherwise Arma 2 runs poorly on 64-bit, so yeh.. Your computer specs arent really that impressive honestly, 30 FPS on BF3 isn't good because it's optimized extremly well. I'm running 90-110 FPS on Ultra on BF3, and I'll run with maybe 40 FPS in the cities on DayZ because it's optimized so poorly. Otherwise I'm stable 60 FPS outside of Cherno and Elektro.

Good run, except for the M1911 and medical supplies :) Usually when I head north and I have a decent backpack, I simply fill it up with food and water / medical supplies just in case. There's no need for unused space, as it won't slow you down or anything. Food would've comed in handy when you got shot. -
I believe it will grow even further in interest and amount of players. This is basically (HOPEFULLY) something that will fix the biggest problems that we've had around as well as giving the developers free hands and not being tied down to an engine that has it's certain limitations. Obviously there will be bugs, there will probably be a few hackers here and there, but not close to what we experience today. Also as far as I am aware, it will be running on the most advanced Arma II Engine that there is, so hopefully that will also solve a few issues here and there. Also it will be better optimized!!!!! Meaning more players that can run it :D:D:D Can't wait. I've upgraded my PC simply because I'd like to enjoy DayZ to the max.

The Bizon isn't that bad of a weapon, honestly. But then again, it all depends / comes down to your play style.
